The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 106: Grab Her for Me
"The hallway wasn’t cleaned tonight; it’s all dirty."
Lindsay Walsh kept her head down, and continued sweeping several times.
Yelena Hughes quickly bent down to take the broom, "Mom, the cleaning lady will come tomorrow; let’s go upstairs."
She leaned the broom back against the wall and hurried Lindsay upstairs.
Jasper Yale glanced at her back, then at his own leg; did she just leave like that?
Back home, Lindsay slammed the door shut, "Yelena, why are you still with him?"
"I just happened to run into him, and he gave me a ride back."
Lindsay walked to the dining table and saw the Heart Protection Peace medicine there. She was grateful to Jasper for giving them the medication, but...
"Mom thinks, though he looks quite young, he’s such an old pervert..."
Yelena held back her laughter, feeling Lindsay summed it up too well.
"Mom, you don’t need to worry, I won’t go to places like that anymore."
"Really?"
Yelena placed the cake on the table, "Yes, everything outside has been resolved. Now I want to work hard to earn money, so you don’t have to work so hard. It’s too cold on winter nights; please stop delivering food, okay?"
"I’ll come back early, I also want to save more money."
Piling all the burden on Yelena alone, Lindsay couldn’t do it.
Lindsay couldn’t help much, so she just did what she could.
The next day, Yelena actually had a day off, and she went out with Anne Hughes.
The two sisters strolled around the nearby mall, had a meal, and on the way back, Anne held her sister’s arm. "Sis, it’s almost New Year."
"After New Year, I’ll go to school. Anne, do you want to go back to school?"
Anne dreamed about it, "Can I?"
"The doctor said as long as you take your medicine on time, it won’t be a big problem. I don’t want to see you cooped up at home every day."
With all her classmates in school, Yelena believed she would be happier.
She raised her hand, catching the sunlight, which danced on her face through her fingers.
This must be the new life, and it’s beautiful.
Yelena had long forgotten her agreement with Jasper; fortunately, he hadn’t sought her out, allowing her a couple of peaceful days.
During the day, no one was home.
Anne took the little money downstairs, not going far, just wandering near home.
She came to a flower shop, staring in a daze at the potted plants at the entrance.
Fresh flowers were too expensive; they withered in a couple of days, and she couldn’t afford them.
Anne picked a camellia pot, paid, and walked out.
She walked slowly along the road home, and on the branches, two or three camellia flowers bloomed.
She wasn’t watching the road ahead and almost bumped into someone, "Sorry."
A strange man blocked her, and Anne tried to sidestep but saw him move too.
She turned around and saw the road blocked by two people behind her.
"What do you want?"
Anne remembered Yelena’s words well: in danger, save your life over money.
She pulled the remaining fifty-something dollars from her pocket, "This is all I have."
Anne’s hand was knocked away, the money fell, and so did the pot. Several feet stomped on her newly bought camellia, and Anne wanted to scream for help, but her mouth was covered.
Both sides of the alley were homes, and she was dragged into a side door without ever being able to cry out.
About half an hour later, Anne stumbled back into the alley.
Her flowers were still there, with footprints on the petals and soil scattered everywhere.
Anne crouched down, pushed the soil back into the plastic pot; the ground was full of trampled flower leaves, but she didn’t care if the dirt would stain her clothes.
She held them all in her arms and went home.
When Yelena got home, Lindsay was still out delivering food.
She placed the groceries she bought on the table and went into the room; it was dark inside, so Yelena turned on the light.
Anne, on the bed, instinctively shielded her face with her hand as if she was terribly frightened.
"Anne, what’s wrong?"
Yelena entered the room, pulled her hand down, "Why didn’t you turn on the light?"
"I just dozed off and woke up."
"I bought some fish; I’ll make soup for you tonight." Yelena said, about to get up.
Anne carefully held her back, her face hesitant, not knowing how to start.
"What’s wrong?"
"Sister, I want a phone, even an old one." Anne said, bowing her head in guilt.
Yelena thought it’s not a big deal, she smiled as she took out her phone to show Anne the online order.
"I wanted to surprise you; I bought one for you online, and it will arrive tomorrow."
Anne’s eyes reddened; she felt she was such a burden, not able to help and always dragging behind.
"Thank you, sister."
Yelena hugged her, "Anne, you’re about to be a college student again. What others have, sister will try to give you as well."
She might not provide the best, but at least she can let her have it.
Anne tightly hugged Yelena’s waist, could she really return to her school?
It probably wasn’t possible, right?
...
The next day.
At the entrance of The Imperial Hotel, Dean Holloway had been waiting in the car for some time, anxiously checking the time, unsure how Yelena was doing inside.
Suddenly, from inside a private room came a harsh shout, "Catch her!"
Yelena pulled open the door and ran out; dressed in a hotel staff uniform, she couldn’t run fast.
Several large men chased her from behind, and with no time for the elevator, Yelena pushed open the stairway door.
Hurried footsteps echoed as she headed upward, passing by a private room—the only one on the top floor—she rushed in without thinking.
She quickly shut the door, panting heavily, her eyes searching for a hiding place until her gaze met Jasper’s.
This damned fate!
"She couldn’t have gone far; find her!"
"Once you find her, strip her down for me!"
In the vast private room, there was nowhere to hide. Yelena glanced at the large round table.
She bent down, lifted the long tablecloth, and slipped underneath.
Hailey Jenkins glanced at Jasper—this...
The corridor noise grew louder, and soon after, someone pushed open the private room door.
Without even looking to see who it was, Hailey snapped, "Are you blind? How dare you barge into Young Master’s place!"
The leading man halted, looking towards Jasper’s direction.
He reined in his fierce demeanor, "Didn’t expect Young Master to be here, sorry for the disturbance."
"So why aren’t you leaving?"
The man scanned the room twice, "Young Master, we’re looking for a woman, wondering if she came in here?"
"What woman? What did she do?" Jasper continued perusing the menu in his hand.
The man couldn’t tell the truth, so he fabricated, "Our Young Master Warren took a liking to her, but midway through negotiations, the price wasn’t agreed upon, and she injured someone and fled."
