The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 220: Tit for Tat
Emily and Kaiden made their way through the bustling streets of the Night Market. It had been over two hours since they started exploring the various shops and Emily was still brimming with energy and excitement.
"What a rude old lady!" She huffed as soon as the two of them walked out of the shoe store. A little pout was decorating her lips as she complained about the rudeness of the shopkeeper.
"You really love to enjoy yourself. You have been annoying all those shop owners for the past two hours and you still have the face to complain about their behavior." Kaiden chastised her but the smile that was playing on his lips made it clear that he was also enjoying it.
"Why? Are you finally finding me annoying?" Emily asked as she stopped and turned to face him with her hands folded over her chest in a defensive attitude.
Kaiden’s lips twitched as he stared at the girl. He stepped closer to her, making the gap between their bodies disappear. One of his hands moved to rest on the small of her back as he whispered next to her ear, "You can never annoy me, not even in your dreams. I love everything about you."
Emily felt the tips of her ears burning as she bit down on her lower lip to stop the smile that was ready to spill. The man knew perfectly well how to melt her heart into a puddle just by his cheesy words.
"Let’s go. There’s still a lot to see." She hurriedly said and stepped away as she started moving towards the jewelry shops that were standing at some distance.
Kaiden shook his head with a sweet smile before he too followed behind her. He could already feel his energy levels skyrocketing as the night became darker.
There were still a few hours left before the full moon would be visible in the sky but his wolf was already filled with excitement for what was coming for them.
Just the thought of him finally appearing in front of his mate in his wolf form, made both him and his wolf feel happy and anxious.
"What are you thinking about?"
His train of thoughts came to a stop when the beautiful face of his angel appeared in front of his eyes. She was looking at him with curiosity filling her emerald oceans as she waited for his answer.
"You." He replied truthfully. After all, she was the only person who had the power of controlling his thoughts all the time and he had nothing to complain about.
"You are helpless, Kaiden." Emily could not help but mutter under her breath as she immediately turned around to face the store before she marched inside.
Kaiden wanted to make another cheesy remark on her comment but unfortunately, he did not get the chance. Knowing that his girl was once again going to irritate the entire staff of the shop, he hurriedly followed behind her.

"Are you done now? You have successfully visited all the mortal shops here, checked all the high-quality products, tried them on, and haven’t spent a single penny yet. I think you should be feeling proud of yourself after such an accomplishment." Kaiden teased her as they both settled down around the small booth next to a food stall.
"I am," Emily replied simply as she took a sip of water before she started looking at the drinks that were filling the vending machine.
Her eyes stopped on a particular drink before she hurriedly turned to look at Kaiden who raised his eyebrows in question as he waited for her to speak her mind.
She took hold of both his hands as she looked at him with her doe-like eyes as she asked, "You love me the most, right?"
Without wasting a single second, Kaiden immediately nodded his head in agreement.
"You won’t stop me doing anything that I love to do, right?" She asked again and once again received a positive reply.
"You said that nothing about me can annoy you. Are you sure about it?" Once again she asked a new question and just like the previous two times, Kaiden immediately replied positively.
"So... Can I get drunk tonight?" She asked in such a sweet voice that Kaiden could not help but smile.
"How wild can you get after getting drunk?" He asked in return, making Emily pause as she tried to recall her past experiences.
"To be honest, I don’t have much experience with getting drunk. The first and only time I got drunk was on my twenty-first birthday and Shadow told me that he, Rylan, and Shane had quite a hard time controlling me. The three of them never let me get drunk after that night. So... I don’t know what I can do after getting drunk." She answered with a simple shrug as she looked at her boyfriend, waiting to see his response.
Kaiden was silent for a while as he seemed to be thinking about something.
"What? Are you going to refuse?" Emily asked as she looked at him with sadness covering her expressions.
"I’m just thinking about how you made three grown-up men have had a hard time after you got drunk. Then will I be able to control you all alone? What if you will try to do something indecent with me?" Kaiden asked her in a serious tone but his eyes were filled with twinkles as he teased her.
"You...!"
Emily huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest and turned her face on the other side, refusing to look at him anymore.
"Alright, alright! I’m just kidding. Of course, you can get drunk tonight. I’ll be here to take care of you. I’m sure me and my wolf can take care of you without any problems. Besides, even if you ended up trying to do something with me..."
She suddenly felt Kaiden’s warm breath brushing the skin under her left ear as the man moved his face closer to her ear before he continued, "... I’m all yours. You can do whatever you want with me. I won’t complain."
After making sure that she had clearly heard all his shameless words, the man once again settled down in his seat as he gave her a wink before standing up and walking away to collect drinks for the two of them.
"Shameless!"
Emily muttered under her breath but the chuckle that left Kaiden’s lips made her realize that he had heard her very clearly even though he was standing quite far away from their table.
It did not take long before the stall owner covered their table with delicious and spicy food and drinks.
Emily did not waste any more time as she picked up the chopsticks to taste the spicy noodles.
She was ready to get drunk and take revenge for all of Kaiden’s shamelessness that she had been experiencing these days. She needed the support of the booze to make the man realize that she too knew how to give tit for tat.

Shadow stepped inside the cave that was filled with silence and darkness, both of which had been a huge part of his Immortal life.
His men had stopped behind the arcade that led to the hidden cave that was located in the deep valleys of the Barren Volcanos. However, unlike its name, the Volcano was anything but barren.
He let the fire in his eyes burn and it barely took a second before the darkness inside the cave dispersed and gave him a clear way towards his destiny.
It had taken a lot of effort from his special team to find this well-hidden location but the good thing was, he found it before their enemies.
He started walking deep into the cave, letting his powers lead him towards the item that he was there to collect.
He was barely halfway inside the cave when a bright purple light shone in front of him, stopping him in his tracks as he recognized the unlimited guest even before seeing his face.
"Are you sure that you want to do this?" The man in the purple cloak and similar-colored eyes, who appeared in the cave all of a sudden, asked Shadow. His tone sounded like the two of them had known each other for ages.
"Are you here to ask the obvious?" Shadow asked in return as he tried to not disrespect the man by ignoring him and his familiar questions and walking past him.
"You are her favorite among all of us. She’s just worried about you. There’s still time. If you want..."
The purple-cloaked man did not get the chance to finish his sentence as he was immediately stopped by Shadow.
"I know that she has always wanted to see me happy. But what she forgot was that the word was not meant for me. I’m doing exactly what I should. I will help my Princess till the very end before leaving... Besides... It’s already too late for me..."
