The Bride He Hates-Chapter 112: Honeymoon -1
The next morning, they mounted their horses and rode out of Thornfield as the sun rose. Within hours, the landscape changed from valleys to mountain passes.
By late afternoon, they arrived at the cottage.
It was small and surrounded by pine trees, with a stream running nearby.
"It’s beautiful."
"Wait until you see inside."
The cottage was cozy within. There was a large main room with a fireplace, a small kitchen, and a sleeping loft above. It felt like a home.
"Everything we need for the week is here." Azrael said.
Lyanna walked through the space, running her hand over the furniture.
"I love it."
"Really?" Azrael sounded nervous. "It’s not what you’re used to..."
"It’s perfect, exactly what we need. There are no servants and no pressure to be king and queen. We are just...us."
Azrael moved behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. Lyanna leaned back against him.
"What do we do for a whole week?" She asked.
"Whatever we want." He replied. "Talk, rest, or explore the area. Your wish is my command."
They spent the rest of the day settling in. Azrael lit the fire while Lyanna unpacked. They made dinner together. For the first time, they enjoyed being domestic together.
"I can’t cook." Azrael said, staring suspiciously at the pot he was stirring.
"I can see that." Lyanna laughed as she watched him struggle. "Here. Like this." She stepped beside him, guiding his hands.
"We should do this more often." Azrael said.
"Agreed." She smiled.
They ate dinner sitting in front of the fire, talking about the journey, the cottage, and the mountains. As the fire died down, they climbed the ladder to the sleeping loft.
There was one large bed, a blanket and a window overlooking the stars.
"I’m still scared." Lyanna said as they lay down together. "That we’ll mess this up."
"Me too." He replied. "But let’s not think about that. Let’s focus on the present."
Lyanna leaned in and kissed him softly.
"Fine. Let’s start our honeymoon." She whispered.
"Finally." Azrael murmured against her lips.
The kiss deepened slowly. His hands went to her waist, pulling her gently on top of him.
"Are you sure?" Azrael asked, pulling back a little. "We can wait..."
"I don’t want to wait. I want you now."
They undressed each other slowly, savouring every touch. When Azrael’s hands skimmed over her skin, she shivered at how good it felt to be touched and loved by him again.
"I’ve missed this." She whispered as his lips moved to her neck. "I missed you."
"I’ve missed you too."
He made her gasp, made her arch into his touch, made her say his name in a way that drove him crazy.
"Azrael!" Lyanna said, pulling him closer. "Please."
"Please what?"
"Stop teasing, I need..."
He kissed her as he came on top of her.
"Tell me what you need."
"You. Just you."
When they finally came together, it felt like coming home. They moved together slowly, feeling every sensation.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
They moved together slowly towards climax. It was overwhelming. They collapsed together afterwards, wrapped around each other.
Lyanna woke up the next morning with Azrael’s arm around her waist and his chest on her back. Azrael stirred behind her.
"Morning." He murmured.
"Morning."
"How did you sleep?"
"Better than I have in months. You?"
"Same."
They lay there for a while, just looking at each other.
"I don’t remember the last time we had a morning like this." Lyanna said.
"Neither do I." Azrael replied. "I think we’ve been in crisis mode for so long that we forgot what normal feels like."
"I want more mornings like this. I want time that’s just ours."
"Then that’s what we’ll have." Azrael said. "Starting now and when we go back to Thornfield, we’ll make it a priority."
"I’d love that."
After breakfast, they decided to explore the mountains. The mountains were beautiful with pine forests, rocky outcrops, and streams flowing through valleys. They walked and saw a waterfall.
"It’s beautiful." Lyanna said.
"Want to swim?"
"Now? It’s probably freezing."
"We’re vampires. We don’t get cold the way humans do."
Lyanna looked at the water, thinking.
"Let’s do it."
They stripped down and dove in. The water was cold but refreshing. Lyanna surfaced laughing. Azrael swam towards her.
"I love the sound of your laugh."
She splashed water at him playfully. He retaliated, and suddenly they were laughing and chasing each other like children.
Azrael caught her around the waist, pulling her against him. Their bodies pressed together, both of them breathing harder.
"You’re beautiful." Azrael said as he brushed a wet hair strand from her face.
"You already said that in the morning."
"I’ll say it every day for the rest of our lives."
He then leaned in slowly and kissed her. It was just a peck but suddenly Lyanna wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, and the kiss deepened.
His hands moved to her back, gripping her waist and she wrapped her legs around him.
"Lyanna, if you keep doing that..."
"Keep doing what?" She asked innocently.
Azrael groaned.
"This..."
"Maybe I want to keep doing this." Lyanna replied, kissing his jaw. "Maybe I like the way you respond to me."
"We’re in a public place." Azrael said, though his hands contradicted his words.
"There’s no one here. It’s just us."
His one hand tangled in her wet hair while the other gripped her hip. Meanwhile, Lyanna’s hands explored his whole body.
"Touch me." She whispered.
Azrael’s hand moved to her ribcage, his thumb brushing the underside of her breast. Lyanna gasped.
"Like that?"
"Yes. Exactly like that."
His hand cupped her breast and his thumb circled her nipple. Lyanna’s head fell back and her breathing quickened. The cold water mixed with his warm touch was intoxicating.
"Azrael!"
"What do you need?"
"You."
"Here? Now?"
"Here. Now."
But just as Azrael’s hand started to move lower, they heard voices coming from a distance. They both froze.
They immediately put some distance between them as the voices grew louder and then faded. They looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"We almost..."
"In a waterfall. Very undignified for a king and queen."
"Very!" Lyanna agreed, still giggling.
"Come on!" Azrael said, swimming towards the rocks. "Let’s dry off before we actually embarrass some poor travellers."
They climbed out, dried off and got dressed.
"Let’s finish this tonight!" Azrael said.
"I wouldn’t want it any other way!"
That evening, they cooked dinner again. Azrael was little better at boiling water than cooking meat.
"You’re seriously terrible at this."Lyanna laughed as he nearly knocked over the pot.
"At least give me credit for trying."
"I am giving you credit for being terrible but endearingly so." She laughed again.
"I love you." Azrael said suddenly.
Lyanna turned to look at him.
"That was...unexpected. But I love hearing that from you." She smiled and kissed him.
"Take me to bed." Lyanna whispered.
"Dinner?"
"Are you hungry?"
"Yes! But for you!"
