The Blade Of God-Chapter 59: Lost And Found (Slash I)
"Ugh...crap man..." Chase mumbles. He looks up to the bright sky, squinting his eyes as the sun shines in his dark eyes. He reaches his hand up, trying to block as much sun out of his eyes before he swings his arm back, flinching in surprise when he hears a soft grunt from behind him. Chase realizes that his head lays on something hard--like rocks or muscle--and that whatever it is behind him is very uncomfortable to lean against.
Chase blinks, slowly rolling his eyes to land behind him, realizing that he’s laying on Aliane’s lap--the other man eyeing down at him with a hint of disgust as he watches Chase twist his head to look forward in shock and confusion.
"I’d rather eat shit than this." Aliane said. "Please, get off me."
Chase clears his throat, hurriedly sitting up and rubbing his soar neck.
"Sorry." Chase curtly said.
"We will never speak of this." Aliane said.
"Agreed." Chase said, nodding his head.
There’s a soft silence between the two men before its Aliane who breaks it, sighing and rubbing his temple’s.
"I can’t believe we got lost..." Aliane said. "And in the maze, at that."
"Uh, yeah. Sucks pretty bad. Especially since we all got separated..." Chase said, sitting up with his back against a tree within distance.
Chase rummages within his pockets, feeling the familiar texture of a small, sharp piece of steel in the form of mini knives before he grabs a rock near his side and begins to sharpen his weapons. "Hope Zayn and Amur are all right..."
"Ah...Clarke and Lia will be fine. The tall one seems strong enough, and the short one always next to her seems responsible." Aliane said. "Sia, maybe. Shaka and Lin-Lin...ah, prayers to them."
"Hopefully Zayn and Amur are together at least." Chase said. "I don’t know that girl you’re always with too well, but hope she isn’t paired with a dumbass."
"Lia?" Aliane asked. "She should be able to handle her own if Rel is with her. If not...well, she knows how to figure it out..."
"You both close?" Chase said, watching himself sharpen his blades through the reflection of his knives.
"We grew up together." Aliane said softly. "If that is what that question entails."
"Oh..." Chase mumbles
"Oh...?" Aliane asked.
"Nah, I-just-isn’t this what Amur would say is ’girls talk?" Chase asked, squinting his eyes as he thinks of what to say next. "Since I don’t know you very well, thought it’d be something fun to try."
Aliane looks at Chase with various mixed emotions, many laced with confused and disgust before he sighs, rolling his pale blue eyes.
"We’re stuck here until we figure out how to leave." Aliane said. "But I don’t want to be tortured any further."
"I guess girl talk isn’t for everyone..." Chase said, tapping a mini knife to his chin. "Noted."
Aliane sighs, rolling his eyes as he leans his head against a tree trunk and closes his eyes, letting the soft air of the forest blow through his short blue hair. He softly breathes, folding his arms against his toned chest as he relaxes.
...
Aliane blinks his eyes open, lazily sweeping his eyes over to Chase, who continues to quietly sharpen his knives to perfection. Aliane lightly frowns, watching the sky still echo with brightness due to the colorful, bright blue sky.
"Was I out long?" Aliane asked, yawning as he whips his head to the side.
"Don’t really have a clock," Chase said, "but maybe a good half hour?"
"Ah, a great nap that was." Aliane said, but stops, pursing his lips. "Right, we should try to get out of here."
"Oh yeah, sounds cool." Chase said.
"Nice." Aliane emotionlessly said, standing up to dust himself off. "Wander which way we should go."
"Should we flip a coin or something?" Chase asked.
"And what if we lose the coin? Such a waste of money..." Aliane mutters. "It would just be easier if a guardian came to try to kill us."
"Oh!" Chase said, pointing to behind Aliane. "Like the one behind you?"
Aliane blinks, slowly turning his head to come face to face with a tall, buff, very grotesque looking man with a large bat with spikes clutched in his big, rough hands. Aliane eyes widen as the large man’s hot breath hits his face, saliva drips down from the large man’s chin as his black eyes pierce through Aliane.
"Yeah..." Aliane said. "Like him."
Aliane ducks, reacting in perfect time to avoid a swing from the man’s wooden bat--the harshness from the swing knocking down the tree Chase leans on and brushes Chase’s hair back. Chase sighs, rolling his eyes as he fixes his blond hair and runs a pale hand through it.
"A bit rude...jeez..." Chase said, huffing as he stands up and dusts himself off.
"And stinky..." Aliane said, holding his nose in disgust. "Do you ever brush your teeth?"
The tall man responds with a loud roar, swinging his bat again and forcing Aliane to dodge again, leaning against his heel as he watches the tall man drool, the thick liquid harshly dripping on the ground.
"Gross..." Aliane said. "How should we handle this, Knight Chase?"
"Like this." Chase said. Aliane blinks, feeling a heavy hand press itself on his back. Aliane yelps, the pressure from Chase’s weight causing Aliane to bend his back low enough that he has to take a knee, unconsciously using himself as a launch pad for Chase to side-flip over him and swing his hand, letting lose his sharpened knives to strike the guardian.
"Warning next time, maybe?!" Aliane said, glaring at Chase as he rubs his back.
"Ah, sorry..." Chase said. "Forgot-."
The guardian grabs his bat by both of his hands and grits his teeth, using his strength to aim to swing his bat to smack the men by their ankles and knock them down, however, Aliane and Chase see the move coming.
They meet eyes before they both nod, rushing towards each other as Chase stands still, his shorter frame ready as he outreaches his hand for Aliane to take. Aliane does, using Chase’s arm as a propeller as he rolls off Chase’s back and uses his strength to spin Chase to roll off of his, helping Chase gain enough leverage off the ground to land a spin kick to the tall guardians face.
The tall guardian roars, holding its bloody nose as Chase and Aliane catch their breath, readying themselves for the next attack.
"Nice." Chase said, nodding his head in approval.
"Thanks." Aliane said, following suit.
"Aren’t you more of a Mage, though?" Chase said, clutching his fist in front of his tone body as he watches the guardian ready themselves for another attack on them. "I can do close combat fighting, but uh..."
"No need to get our hands anymore dirtier than this." Aliane said, lifting his hand to his side and closing his eyes, feeling his large mage staff form his hands. "Mages like us have heroes to do that."
"Heroes...?" Chase asked, watching with large eyes as Aliane raises his staff above his head and slams it down, clutching the staff in his hands as he looks forward, feeling the sweat on his forehead drip down his chin.
"بطل الصوف. بطل المجد المنسي. البطل الذي يشرق مع الشمس.." Aliane said, before he closes his eyes shut, gritting his teeth.
"I summon thee." Aliane said. "Hero of the Crimson Fleece, Jason Grace."
Chase watches in awe as a sudden world-wind of air burst through like a tornado, causing Chase to hug the nearest fallen tree to make sure he doesn’t blow away. Chase watches as Aliane looks up, landing his eyes upon the clouds above that open like curtains for the sun to peak through, yet ironically rain--heavy rain--begins to fall to the ground. Chase looks up, then down, watching the rain drench the earth until it forms a large puddle. The puddle begins to harden, shaping itself into a hard material like glass, shining and reflecting the sun on its body like a mirror.
"You filthy humans, summoning me." It’s a deep, rich voice that comes out of the puddle. "It seems as if you like to waste my time with such puny enemies."
"Well...why else would I summon you?" Aliane asked, rolling his eyes. "Ion wanna do it."
"Hey!" The voice from the mirror responds, their voice booming loud enough for the ground to quake, then Chase watches as the mirror lifts itself from the ground, its outer layer creating a golden back for the mirror to lean on until a hand reaches out through the mirror, then two, then two long legs, a muscular torso and full head of white, spiked hair, until a tall, menacingly looking man with pale skin, red eyes, and a scowl tattooed heavily on his handsome face bestows the presence of both Aliane and Chase.
"You filthy humans." The man said menacingly, eyeing both men down with disdain. "Why do thy peasants summon me to the Forest of Arcane?"
