Chapter 76: A Rat You Cannot Kill

Sophia’s smirk widened as Annabelle’s body shuddered under her grip. Straightening up, she patted her head and murmured, "Rest well, you might have a long flight tomorrow."

Annabelle gritted her teeth, and as much as she wanted to use this card on an even bigger occasion, Sophia was to be blamed for forcing her to pull it out. Opening her phone, she started playing the video she had caught almost a few months ago at the hospital.

Sophia who was at the door frowned hearing her voice, the next moaning sounds causing her to grip the door handle tightly. She turned around in horror only to see Annabelle smirking at her, displaying a video on her phone.

"Oh, Rick! Harder, baby!"

"Ah, ah, I am cl-close!" Sophia’s face blanched seeing the uncensored video caught from a distance, their faces clear enough for anyone to identify easily.

"You had quite a wild experiment that day in the hospital labs, Mom," Annabelle murmured, crossing her arms proudly. She had tricked Sophia into believing she had hired a pushover artist, but this seemed to prove that she could be as low as her.

"You, bitch!" Sophia shouted, storming toward Annabelle in a few hurried strides. She snatched away the mobile and threw it to the wall, the device breaking into pieces.

"Oops, I have many such copies, stored in quite a few devices in the house," Annabelle replied, looking at her iPhone. She had quite a few such phones, so she didn’t mind losing one. Turning to Sophia who was fuming with anger, she continued, "Oh, Eli’s gaming computer is my favorite of all."

"You!!" Sophia raised her hand and Annabelle who was planning to grab it, didn’t stop her as she heard the door open.

Pak!

Sophia’s hand hit hard on Annabelle’s cold cheek, and being the best artist she ever was, Annabelle stumbled behind, falling on the ground with a thud.

"Sophia!" William’s loud voice echoed through the room, and Sophia panicked and instantly turned around not expecting him to be there.

"Papa," Annabelle called out ever so sadly, her voice coming out in soft sobs. William glared at Sophia and immediately rushed to his sweet Annabelle, brushing past her shoulder.

"Do-don’t blame her, please. It’s all my fault. I should have never gone that night," Annabelle murmured, clinging onto William’s chest tightly who caressed her head, leaving a heavy sigh.

Sophia gritted her teeth, her eyes fixed on Annabelle who was smiling at her. What the heck was he doing here? Well, Annabelle expected her to go insane so she decided to match that level, asking her sweet papa to come with her since she was afraid of talking with angry Sophia alone.

"You were the one who forced her to go with him! It’s all your fault, Sophia!" William vented out, his frustration at its peak. According to Annabelle had convinced, it was Sophia’s idea to go with Vincent and meet Evelyn, to clear out misunderstandings with that evil, ungrateful girl. Though he was against it, his sweet Anna wanted to try and start afresh with Evelyn, coaxing him to agree only to end up in this huge mess.

"Get up," William slowly helped Annabelle stand and help her sit on the chair. Suddenly Annabelle winced, hugging her stomach causing the elder man to panic, "Are you alright? Let me call the doctor."

"I-I am fine, papa," Annabelle replied, holding onto his arm. "Th-the baby should be fine too. Mom didn’t push me that hard," she added much to Sophia’s horror, causing William to grit his teeth tightly.

"I-I am sorry. It’s just, she kept persisting on keeping the child and I got-" Sophia stammered, her voice barely coming out as she faced William’s wrath.

Before she could continue, William crossed the path and slapped her hard on the cheek. The sound was so loud that it echoed in the room, fine fingerprints marked on Sophia’s pale cheek, forever etched into her heart.

Annabelle pressed her lips together, barely able to control herself from snorting out loud. The way Sophia held her burning cheek, her expression blank in shock, it was just too amusing to not enjoy without some wine. Evelyn would have loved it, she thought feeling that poor woman deserved this scene after whatever Sophia had made her go through.

Wait, why am I acting like a saint? Annabelle thought with a frown, feeling a pang of sympathy for Evelyn that was never her personality to begin with.

"She will marry Vincent Blake and won’t be aborting my grandchild." William’s stern voice brought Annabelle out of her thoughts. Her sweet father took a step forward and threatened Sophia, "I think I am clear enough for you to not touch her again. Try it and I will throw you out of this house."

Sophia felt her tears streaming down at his words, her emotions barely contained. It was ironic how she used to enjoy these kinds of shows, with Evelyn being scolded by her dear father every day. And now, she was in that place, always because of this snake she brought, thinking she was a money-sucking leech.

"Let’s go, baby," William said returning to Annabelle and helping her stand up. Annabelle held onto his arm and slowly walked out, her eyes never leaving Sophia who was too stunned to react to her performance.

Sophia flinched as her once dumb and darling husband shut the door with a bang, clearly indicating that she had lowered herself in his eyes. Wiping away her tears, she gritted her teeth and murmured, "I need to get rid of this worm!"

But Annabelle’s words rang in her ears, causing her to immediately rush to her son’s room. No, she couldn’t afford him to find the truth at all costs. He was a Wright and will always be the heir of this family! Wiping the tears off the corner of her eyes, Sophia stormed out of the room toward Elias’s gaming room.

"What the-" Elias was barely able to finish grumbling as someone entered the room without knocking, when his mother walked toward him, her eyes fixed on the monitor.

"I have studied enough for today, Mom! Let me play!" Elias grumbled, thinking she was here to reprimand him but frowned when Sophia pushed him away and went for his monitor.

Sophia lifted the huge device and smashed it on the floor, the loud bang echoing through the room. A few maids passing by flinched in terror, quickly running away to escape falling prey to her frustration.

Elias’s mouth opened in shock before he shouted out loud. "What the fuck?! Are you out of your mind?"

"Yes!" Sophia replied to him, before going for the other monitor right beside the earlier one.

"Mom, stop it!" Elias grabbed Sophia’s arm, only to be pushed away by her. Sophia went all out and broke everything that caught her eyes, her actions making Elias wonder if he needed to call the hospital and take her away for some physiological treatment.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Annabelle’s voice came from the door, causing Sophia to stop midway. She clutched the keyboard in her hand tightly, ready to throw it in her way but William’s murderous glare flashed in her mind. Gritting her teeth, she hit it on the ground and stomped on it, causing Elias to cry out loud.

"I brought it last week!" The poor teenager grumbled, squatting down to pick up the pieces of whatever was left out of his dear devices. His mother really needed some therapy! Or better, send her to some military camps for a few weeks! They could use her rage well in the wars.

"Go study!" Sophia ordered her son, causing Elias to huff out loud and walk out of the room to call in some maids. He couldn’t clean this mess alone!

Annabelle waited for Elias to get out and stepped in, a bright smile spread across her face. "I was only joking earlier, Mom. You took it quite seriously," she said, a cackle escaping her mouth.

Sophia’s mouth opened and closed in disbelief. So, she hadn’t put that video anywhere here? Realization gnawed on her as Annabelle laughed out loud, right on her face! fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"Well, try to touch me and I will send it directly to Papa," Annabelle said with a smile, but her eyes conveyed a clear warning to Sophia. She turned around to leave but realizing something, she turned and said,

"Oh, and even if you kill me while I’m asleep. I have already sent it to someone who will be willing to avenge my death using it."

Sophia for the first time felt fear gripping her heart. It had always been the way around, she would make people freak out but this witch was making her go through so many emotions in a single day.

"Who?" Sophia dared to ask, a little scared to even guess who this person might be.

Annabelle smiled and walked closer. Leaning over, she whispered as if it had to be kept secret for a while. "Evelyn Reign."

Sophia’s face paled in horror, her eyes wide and fixed on Annabelle. "You must be kidding!" She murmured, thinking it was yet another twisted prank. She had already broken her phone into pieces, so there was no way she could send it, unless she used multiple phones like her.

"Oh, I am not," Annabelle mumbled with a pout and blinked her eyes innocently. Suddenly her phone out loud and a smile brightened her face. "See, she is calling me. Must’ve been thrilled to watch your show."

Sophia’s eyes fixed on the name on her phone. No, she was losing this battle!
