The billionaire's only desire-Chapter 96: Vico’s daughter
Chapter 96: Vico’s daughter
The moment Marcello revealed that Vico was the new owner of Venus City, Dalton connected the dots and realized that Maya was Vico’s daughter.
Charlotte’s eyes widened as she took a sharp breath. "You knew all along? And you’re still dating her? Who knows if she conspired with her father to murder you?"
"Just like how you’re conspiring with Vico," Dalton snapped at her. "I know you’re working for him."
"H-how did you find out? It’s not what you think," Charlotte stammered,
She regained her composure quickly. "I’m doing this for you, Dalton," she said, petting his chest.
"Don’t fucking touch me!" Dalton yanked her hand away. Lord, how had he tolerated her for that long? He couldn’t stand her.
"Ouch, you could have politely asked me to remove my hand, cousin,"
Dalton detest the way she sarcastically emphasized the word "cousin."
"Pardon me, I’m just obsessed with your sexy broad chest," Charlotte said, biting her lips sensually as she eyed him like a piece of candy she was eager to devour. She intended to come off as seductive, but Dalton found her repulsive.
Charlotte is no longer being subtle with her advances; she is now fully expressing her interest in him. Dalton wishes she had stuck to her fake tears and playing the victim. Now that she is so intolerable, he wishes she could just disappear from the surface of the earth.
"The next time you touch me, I will make Aiden serve your head on a platter for me," he threatened, his voice gritty and his eyes darker than usual.
Charlotte gasped, showing a hint of trepidation as she backed away. "Fine! So Vico’s daughter can touch you, right? Has Maya bewitched you? What did she do to manipulate you and your brothers into acting like her lapdogs? Did she put some mind control drugs in the meals she prepares for you, huh?"
" "I’m putting my life on the line for you, Dalton. I’m acting as a mole, infiltrating Vico’s camp to steal information for you. I’m doing this because I love you!" Charlotte broke into tears, and it looked genuine, but Dalton remained unmoved.
He knows that the only reason Charlotte is working with Vico is to keep Maya and him apart, not for the bullshit reasons she is spluttering. "I didn’t ask you to do any of this, Charlotte. Don’t think you’re clever; the moment you try to backstab Vico, he will send you to an early grave. Value your life, cousin."
"And as for Maya," Dalton touched his chest, his palm resting right on his beating heart. "I don’t care who her father is. I’m going to love her to death."
Anguish tears welled up in Charlotte’s eyes as her lips twisted with bitterness. "Do you think her father will let you be with her?" she laughed tauntingly. "Oh, Dalton, you have no idea of the plans Vico has for his daughter."
Dalton’s face remained stoic, pretending that Charlotte’s words didn’t affect him. He turned his head, avoiding Charlotte’s gaze, "We are done talking. Now get out."
"I will, but remember that your bubbly days with Maya are numbered. Her daddy will come for her, leaving your heart shattered into pieces, and I will be the one to mend it, sweetheart." Charlotte laughed hysterically. "And don’t worry, I have no plans of telling Maya who her father is. Ciao, handsome."
Dalton made sure she was gone before he let out the cough he was holding
"I hate this," Dalton cursed. He can’t be bedridden while Vico plans his next move. He needs to retaliate, fight back, and prevent him from taking Maya away from him.
"Hey, bro, are you awake?" Dalton heard River’s annoying voice, prompting him to tilt his head toward the door. His rowdy brothers had made an appearance.
"How are you feeling?" Aiden asked.
"Look at the grim expression on his face," River feigned a shiver. "He’s perfectly fine."
Dalton wiggled his nose. "I hate the smell of the hospital. Where is Oliver? I need to be discharged. I want to go home." He sounded like a whiny little brat.
"I’m changing the security system to a version that no hacker can penetrate," Aiden informs him. "It will take about a week to set everything in place. Also, the mansion will be surrounded by security guards from now on, and I have set up dangerous traps in the woods, so no enemy will be able to sneak in through the woods to attack."
Dalton nods, pleased. "Good."
"Did any of you give Maya a hard time?" He was ready to do the worst for his brothers if they had.
"Hell no," River said, looking offended by Dalton’s assumption. "She’s our little sister now. She is an angel; she can do no wrong." He grinned.
"Oliver is rather upset with you and is blaming you for this," River added. Dalton expected this kind of reaction from Oliver.
Aiden chuckled, "You would kill us if we did give her a hard time. "
"I certainly will," Dalton said, not joking; he meant it.
"I’m starving, so I’m going to get something from the cafeteria." River found a way to excuse himself so that Dalton and Aiden could talk about their dark twisted stuff.
When the door shut, Dalton spoke. "Aiden, you are such a good actor. You knew all along that Vico was the new owner of the Venus City Gentlemen’s Club and my new nemesis, but you pretended to have a hard time finding out his identity. I’m sure you also know Vico is Maya’s father. You are the best when it comes to unmasking people’s identities. So why did I let you convince me that you couldn’t unmask Vico’s identity?"
Dalton realized that Aiden had been lying to him the moment Aiden told him that Charlotte had started working for Vico.
Aiden sighs heavily. "I’m sorry, bro. I wanted to tell you as soon as I found out that Vico is both Venus’s owner and your new nemesis. But then I discovered that he is also Maya’s biological father. I couldn’t bring myself to tell you that the woman you love is the daughter of the man who tore your life apart when you were a kid."
"Did you resent Maya when you found out she was Vico’s daughter?" Dalton asked.
Aiden shook his head. "I actually felt sorry for her for having such a shitty father. I can’t imagine how she will react when she finds out."
"She is never going to find out," Dalton declared. "It will kill her if she ever finds out who her father is."
