The billionaire's only desire-Chapter 41: Faroe Islands part two
Chapter 41: Faroe Islands part two
Maya opens her eyes and finds herself lying on a living room floor, feeling a chilling cold seeping through the thin robe that covers the lingerie she is wearing. Her ankles and wrists were unbounded.
She flinched as she realized that either her stepfather or the guy named Shawn had dressed her in lingerie while she was unconscious from the sedatives that had been injected into her.
Just then, Maya noticed heels approaching her. She looked up and gasped, "Valentina?"
Valentina smirked. "I hope you love the lingerie. It’s the most expensive one I own."
Maya smiled, relieved that it was Valentina who had dressed her up, not that perverted man or her stepfather.
But suddenly, Maya frowned. "Wait, why did you dress me in lingerie, and what are you doing here?"
Valentina rolled her eyes. "Jeez, you don’t realize that you’re about to be sold?"
Maya didn’t react; the guy named Shawn had already spilt it to her.
Valentina laughed. "Did you really think I’m here to rescue you?" She leaned down to face Maya and said viciously, "Even if I had a way to rescue you, I wouldn’t do it."
Maya’s heart quivered. She thought Valentina liked her and that they could have a sisterly bond. It was just foolish wishful thinking.
"You hate me too, right?" A tear rolled down Maya’s cheek.
Valentina’s eyes turned fierce, filled with loathing. "Yes, I hate you. You deprived me of a mother. If you didn’t exist, I could have grown up with a loving mother. I hate you for killing her."
Maya nodded in indignation. "That’s a valid reason to hate me."
Valentina retorted, "The only thing I like about you is your cooking skills."
"Well, I only cook for you because of the free promotion you do for me on your Instagram page," Maya bit back.
Valentina sneered at her. "Thank goodness Daddy is getting rid of you for good." She flicked her hair like a diva and stormed away.
Maya lay on the cold marble floor, crying silently and wishing she had never been born. For the first time, she felt the urge to curse her mother’s name, blaming her for the situation she found herself in.
Perhaps her mother should have aborted her, then she wouldn’t have had to experience suffering.
"You look great—just as sexy as I wanted. Valentina has good taste," Fredrick Hathaway said as he walked in with Terrence.
Maya clutched the light robe wrapped around her.
"I’m hungry. Go cook for me," Terrence barked the order at her.
Maya ignored him and curled into a ball.
"How dare you ignore me?" Terrence fumed. He was about to hit her but Fredrick Hathaway intervened.
"No, son. We don’t want her face to be battered. I need her to be presentable."
Fredrick Hathaway turned his attention to Maya. "Get up! Before your back suffers from my belt."
Maya, unsteady, managed to rise. She held her ribs; everything hurt. Her whole body ached.
"My guests need food. Get your ass to the kitchen and prepare the best dishes," Fredrick Hathaway said, pointing toward the kitchen.
Maya reluctantly dragged her aching body into the kitchen to start cooking.
She is so weak that she blacked out three times before finishing chopping all the vegetables. It’s a miracle the knife didn’t slice through her finger since she was also shivering.
Her migraines were splitting her head in two, and the dizziness prevented her from standing for long.
When she pressed her palm to her forehead, she felt heat. Her temperature had risen, and she was sweating excessively, even though the weather was cool.
Her stomach was grumbling, so she decided to eat some apples she found in the fridge, but she couldn’t manage a second bite. She had lost her appetite.
All the symptoms she is experiencing suggest that she has a fever, and her injured ribs and bruised back exacerbate the pain she is feeling.
Maya applied a pack of ice to her forehead, wrists, and neck to help lower her body temperature.
She forced herself to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. And also eat a full apple.
She felt slightly better and resumed cooking.
Her survival instinct kicked in, and now she was brainstorming ways to escape. Perhaps she could drug the food.
But her eyes caught sight of a camera in the corner. Maya hissed, "Dammit!" Of course, there are CCTV cameras all over the house. She is left with only one option: she would take her own life before allowing any of those terrible men to touch her.

Dalton and Aiden were driving along a road in the Faroe Islands, feeling lost and very anxious. Aiden kept dialling a number, and after the tenth attempt, the person finally picked up.
He put the call on loudspeaker.
"Soraya, finally! Why weren’t you picking up?" Aiden barked into the phone.
"I was busy," Soraya replied defensively.
"Where is your uncle keeping Maya?" Dalton asked furiously.
"I—I don’t know. I’m in Spain. I have no information about this. I have nothing to do with it! Please, believe me, Dalton!"
Dalton looked at Aiden.
Aiden nodded. "She is telling the truth. She is in Spain."
Dalton gripped the wheel tightly. He had never felt this helpless.
Aiden patted his brother’s arm. "The security team is searching every building on this godforsaken island. We will find her."
Dalton cut him off with a nod. He believes he will find her, but what he fears is that it may be too late, and they have already caused severe harm to Maya.
Dalton turned his attention back to Soraya. "I know you are aware of what is happening. Don’t pretend you have no idea. I’m not a fool you can deceive."
"I am not lying. I know nothing about this!" she pleaded from the other end of the line.
Dalton paused and instructed, "Tell me the location of Fredrick Hathaway’s house in the Faroe Islands."
Soraya let out a sigh. "I..." She was engulfed in silence.
Dalton waited patiently. He was not going to use threats to get the answer from her. He knows that Soraya wants to win his favour, so she will reveal the location, or she might choose not to, out of loyalty to her uncle.
"I will text you the address," Soraya finally said after a long silence. She chose Dalton over her uncle.
"Good," Aiden replied before hanging up.
A minute later, Soraya texted him the address.
Dalton is usually a cautious driver, but he drove at an accelerated speed, like a reckless driver, to reach the location quickly to rescue his woman
