The billionaire's only desire-Chapter 110: Infidelity part 1
Chapter 110: Infidelity part 1
"I want to ask Maya to marry me this weekend," the words waffled from Dalton’s lips as his heart skipped a beat.
River’s mouth dropped open, and his eyes flickered rapidly. "You lucky bastard!" he exclaimed playfully, pulling Dalton into a headlock. "Damn, we’re going to miss the engagement party because we’ll be on the other side of the world!"
Aiden hit the brakes; they had arrived at their destination—the private airport. He turned his head to give Dalton a smirk. "How long have you had the ring?"
"Since the day after you got her a new phone," Dalton answered.
"Damn, that was months ago!"
"Let me see the ring," Oliver enthusiastically requested.
Dalton dipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small box, and carefully opened the lid, revealing a diamond ring that sparkled in Oliver’s eyes.
"Wow, that’s a pretty diamond," Oliver’s lips curled into a smile. "Haven has a good eye."
Aiden raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Haven chose it?"
Dalton nodded and placed the ring back into his pocket
A strange-looking smile peeks on Aiden’s lips. "I will let her pick, then."
"Bro, what do you mean?" River asked, scrunching his eyes at him.
Aiden grinned. "I’ll FaceTime you," he winked at River.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out of the car. The twins and Dalton followed suit.
"Congratulations!" Oliver hugged Dalton. "You are the most fortunate man in the world. Maya is the perfect woman. She is the sweetest girl I have ever met. She is pure-hearted and truly a gem. Bro don’t you dare hurt her."
Dalton’s heart smiled "Yes, I’m the luckiest guy. She is my happiness, I will never hurt her."
"Aww, you’re in love," River teased as he unloaded their luggage from the car trunk. Two bodyguards who had been inside the plane came out to assist the pilot in loading the luggage into the aircraft’s compartment.
Dalton’s eyes sparkled. He moved away from Oliver to hide the blush on his cheeks.
"Time to go," River alerted his twin. "I wish you and Maya all the happiness in the world. You deserve this, bro. You’ve been unhappy for a very long time." River hugged Dalton, gave him a slap on the back, and then pulled away. The twins embraced Aiden for the last time and were ready to board the private jet.
"You two take care of yourselves," Dalton darted at them.
Aiden and Dalton stood rooted to the spot until the private jet disappeared from the sky.
"So, when is the wedding?" Aiden asked.
"In a month."
Aiden drew his head back in surprise. "That’s so soon! Weddings take a lot of time to plan."
"With the right people and money, our wedding will hopefully take place next month," Dalton said confidently.
Aiden shook his head with a chuckle. "Oh right, I forgot you are Dalton Black."
"But I feel like you’re rushing this. What’s the reason? Don’t give me:you’re so in love with her that you want to marry her quickly reason." Aiden’s eyes narrowed.
Dalton looked ahead, tension creeping into his muscles. "Vico wants to come for her. I want to make her Mrs. Black before he makes the attempt."
"Vico wants to kidnap Maya?"
Dalton didn’t respond.
Aiden clenched his teeth and fists in unison. "He won’t dare. Remember, he’s gone into hiding?"
"He is Vico; he will regain the power he once wielded," Dalton said, sounding dejected. "I don’t fear anyone or anything on this earth, but that was before I met Maya. Losing her is what I fear the most. My greatest fear." He paused and took a long drag of breath. "So, after we get married, we are leaving the country for somewhere remote."

Maya noticed Aiden and Dalton sitting at the dining table as she brought in the dish.
"What for lunch?" Aiden asked
Maya smiled. "We are having Mexican today." She set the Mexican Chicken Casserole down on the table.
She looked at Dalton and frowned. "You look so sad, Dalton. I already miss the twins, too." She went to him to offer comfort by wrapping her arms around his neck from behind. He looked up, and their lips met in a quick, passionate kiss.
"I made this food with a lot of love. You two will feel better after eating it," she said, directing her words at Aiden as well. However, Aiden’s head was down, smiling at his phone.
Maya gave Dalton a second steamy kiss before taking her seat.
"Aiden, what has you looking so smiley?"
Aiden raised his head and flashed Maya a big grin. "I’m chatting with Haven."
"What’s going on between you and Haven? Do you like her?" Dalton asked.
"Yes," Aiden said in a beat
"Since when?" Dalton’s tone was dipped in shock.
"I don’t know," Aiden shrugged.
"Since forever," Maya said as she filled a plate. "I noticed the spark between them when he was bantering with Haven during my first visit to your office."
"Hmm, I see,. I thought you two don’t get along." Dalton’s face looked perplexed as if he were trying to solve an algebra problem.
Maya laughed. "Seriously, Dalton, I can’t believe you’re blind to the fact that those two were just flirting. And..." She suddenly stopped talking, her smile fading as her eyes widened.
"Do you miss Mummy, my sons?" Beatrice made her grand entrance, glittering in flashy designer clothes and carrying a designer bag. She looked expensive and smelled expensive.
"Mother, what are you doing here?" Aiden barks at her. Dalton growls, "Why are you back? I bought you that house you wanted in London, and in exchange, you promised that I would never have to see your face again."
Beatrice’s smile remained intact on her face, her son’s expression of displeasure could not make it waver.
"I have a beautiful gift for you, my son, a gift that will save you from the viper that has slithered into your life. This gift is from your cousin, Charlotte."
Maya shifted in her seat, feeling a sense of unease.
"I don’t want it," Dalton snapped at her.
"Oh, you do," Beatrice pulled a tablet from her Chanel bag. "Brace yourself, son. Maya, you should also come closer and take a look."
Maya nervously stood up and positioned herself behind Dalton. She felt deep in her bones that whatever was on that tablet might ruin her day—or perhaps even their relationship.
Beatrice taps on the screen and places the tablet in front of Dalton. A room came into view on the video. A couple was tangled under the duvet on a large bed. Then, the camera zoomed in on their faces. Maya’s heart abruptly jumped into her throat as she realized the couple was her and Dan!
"This is hard evidence, son. As you can clearly see in the video you are watching, this treacherous woman has been cheating on you with her lover, Dan. One of her colleagues she works with at that restaurant"
Dalton turned to Maya, his expression cold and piercing.
A single tear fell down Maya’s cheek. "Dalton, I—I..." Her lips trembled.
Dalton just walked past her, cold and detached. Maya felt her heart break into pieces. She could feel the hate radiating from Dalton.
He hates her now.
