The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 685: Help Me Figure These Out
Aside from the board Hugo had personally created while waiting and babysitting, Allen didn’t fail to put everything in writing. That way, they wouldn’t get lost, and they could keep reading it. Heck, Allen had been reading this report repeatedly just to find out anything else.
Sadly, it was hard to move forward as they had already done everything they could.
Even so, Allen knew Penny was already trying to figure out more with Yugi’s help because they knew they would be the first to be barbecued if Jessa found out. They were the closest, after all.
"This is very coherent," Lola remarked, standing before the board Hugo created.
Standing on the side, Hugo smirked proudly. "Of course, First Sister. I did my best for this one..." he trailed off and leaned closer to her side to whisper, "...otherwise, your husband will make me redo it."
Her face twitched a little as she didn’t doubt Hugo at all.
"By the way..." changing the subject, Lola looked at Hugo. "Of all people Yuri could call, why did she call Kiara?"
Her question had already popped into everyone’s head previously, but they didn’t ask because of the other information. But now that Lola brought it up, it also made them wonder.
"Right." Slater nodded, seated on the couch while reviewing the written reports from Allen. "Second Brother, I know Yuri and Kiara get along really well. But she also gets along more with Nina and Grace. I’m not shocked that she didn’t call Penny because Penny is a loudmouth, but I would’ve expected her to call Nina first."
"Didn’t she try to call Nina first?" Lola wondered, turning to Hugo and Allen. "I know you couldn’t have checked her call logs, but you could’ve seen if she reached out to Nina by checking Nina’s phone."
Allen shook his head and sighed. "We’ve tried. Actually, Miss Penny did secretly check everyone’s call logs, including Aunt Jessa’s and Sir Lester’s phones, just to see if she tried to reach anyone before that, but nothing. Aside from spam callers that the Prime Group confirmed, Yuri only tried to call one person, and that was... Miss Kiara."
"Even Kiara is surprised." Hugo crossed his arms, watching everyone’s eyes shift to him. "She also didn’t think she would be the first one Yuri would’ve reached out to in situations like this."
"Maybe she was trying to call you," Atlas remarked. "But she knew you too well."
And by that, he meant that Hugo was the hardest person to reach. Not because the guy was always busy — except when he was working on a case — but because Hugo rarely used his phone. He wasn’t the type to keep it with him all the time, and most of the time, it was drained.
"But even if she was trying to reach Second Brother, he was on a mission," Slater muttered. "There’s no way she would’ve known that he finished the mission early, and... even if let’s say she knew because Yuri magically saw the future — why Second Brother?"
Hugo nodded. "I can help her if I know where she is, but compared to me, she should’ve reached out to First Brother first, right?"
Hugo didn’t see his connections as connections, but rather, as friends. However, even though he had friends who could help him or do him favors that worked in his favor, Atlas’s reach was wider than his.
In Atlas’s current standing, his reach was even wider and deeper than Zoren’s, Penny’s husband.
"More importantly, she’s part of the Order," Lola hummed, rocking her head as her eyes were cast down. "None of this makes sense."
Slowly, she turned to the board, and her lips pressed into a tight line.
The board was more than coherent, so that even someone without experience could follow it. But even though it was clear to follow, everything about it was confusing. All this board did was confirm the dates of when Yuri rented the small net café booth, how long she stayed there, the time she left with only her phone and wallet, and then disappeared in a redevelopment area.
"This place..." Lola hummed as she looked back at everyone, placing a finger on the photo where Yuri was last seen. "This is where again?"
"Sangard," Allen answered. "It’s a small country, six hours from Anteca by plane."
"That’s three hours from Novera," Lola whispered, brows knitted.
Meaning, Yuri was in this country while Atlas and the twins were already in Novera. Had they investigated earlier or had Atlas searched for her, they would have gotten to her before she disappeared.
"Is it possible that Yuri was not abducted initially?" Slater spoke after a moment of silence. "What I’m saying is, based on the reports and recordings, Yuri left on her own. She only brought her phone and wallet with her. Not to mention, she rented the booth for a year."
"Yuri always rents places for a one-year contract minimum," Allen argued calmly. "It’s why it’s easy to find her hideouts."
"Sure, but still, Yuri disappeared on her own. It didn’t show that she was talking to someone or had been using her phone excessively to contact someone," Slater nodded. "I think wherever she disappeared to is not where she actually disappeared."
He then pointed at the board. "Right now, we’re talking about that road where she was last seen, but there’s no telling if that is the right time of her abduction."
"I’m saying... Yuri only reached out now, and even called it that she was abducted," he added, his thoughts running in his head. "But the time she disappeared from there tells us she was abducted months ago. And if that is the truth, I don’t think she would be just as calm as Second Brother described."
"Even so, Yuri is in a precarious situation, and we are too if Aunt Jessa finds out. Whatever she was trying to do or trying to achieve does not matter right now," Atlas broke his silence, snapping his eyes at Allen. "Allen, check the residential area once more, and be sure to check everything. Not just the residents who haven’t moved out yet, but the developers and everyone who is involved in that area."
Then he moved to Hugo. "Hugo, keep your line open and assist Allen. As for Slater, you check Yuri’s apartment on the island and see if she left any clues about her recent interests."
"Yes, sir." Allen rose to his feet and lowered his head. Having said that, he turned and walked away in haste, knowing they were already far behind.
Hugo rocked his head and casually turned on his heel, following Allen. As for Slater, he sluggishly pushed himself off the couch and shrugged.
"Guess we have to keep moving," he remarked. "This is far better, though."
Far better than him drowning in the matters left in Ashkar and that maze.
As Slater stepped out, Lola turned to Atlas.
"What about me?" she asked, only to see Atlas approach the coffee table and pick up the reports from Allen.
When he turned to her, he said, "You will help me figure these out."
