The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 610: A Legacy
According to Tomie, after the chaos that Lola and Haji had caused in the territory years ago, its effects didn’t end with their departure. What she did resonated with many people. It was the very reason the governors of Ravah tried their best to minimize what she had done.
But those who knew could see through the governor’s actions from a mile away.
Lola not only stole all the blueprints kept securely in the governor’s vaults, but she also took down people who once terrorized others.
Just like the Malveks of Ashkar, she savagely slaughtered the privileged "princes" who believed they were untouchable. Ashkar may have tried to bury the truth, but there were far too many eyewitnesses who told the story of how she beheaded one of them and kicked the severed head forward, parading the man’s fate for everyone to see.
In Halvik, she didn’t do anything that brutal. However, she managed to force the governor to remain vigilant over his territory instead of personally going after her. By doing so, she revealed just how divided the territory truly was—and where the governor’s priorities lay.
New Gehran, however, was the last place she and Haji stayed. Tomie could list everything she had done there, but even that wouldn’t be enough. She had done more than one could count, and yet the greatest achievement she and Haji earned through all that chaos was—
Escape.
They escaped in one piece, and everyone who aided them managed to stay out of trouble. That was because every act of assistance had been done in secret, and anyone who discovered who helped them... was silenced.
They didn’t leave the territory only for those left behind to shoulder the consequences or take the full weight of the aftermath.
Because of that, small and quiet revolutionary groups multiplied. The once-fragmented resistance that had tried—and failed—to fight the government of Ravah finally found its purpose. They borrowed the courage Lola and Haji had left behind.
With more people inspired to resist, they quietly joined these groups opposing the government. Microgroups merged into one. Before they realized it, their numbers had expanded exponentially—not only in New Gehran, but with branches forming in other territories as well.
Despite this growth, they maintained a low profile. They trained in secret, observed silently, and gathered resources. Their operations consisted of small raids, robbing establishments owned by governors or mercenary groups, but they never engaged in open warfare.
Everything they had done over the years was a preparation for rebellion—one Tomie hoped would be led by Lola. They waited for her return, yet they also knew that whether she came back or not, the turmoil in this land would inevitably lead to full-scale war.
They had to prepare, no matter what.
Fortunately for them, they didn’t have to wait long. Lola returned. And just as they had expected, her return ignited everything once more.
"I heard the news rather late," Tomie said, standing outside the bar as his men helped escort the residents back inside, turning it into their base. "Billionaire came to me, spouting all kinds of madness. Then one of my men burst into my place and told me you were back, and that everything had fallen into chaos again."
He let out a shallow chuckle, recalling how he initially refused to believe Billionaire. After all, his son had lied to him before, repeatedly insisting that Lola and Haji had returned.
"When I finally came out and saw the situation for myself—and heard about the fire in Gigante along the way—I knew I had to see it firsthand," he continued, smiling faintly at Lola. "That’s when I realized tonight is the night we’ve all been waiting for."
"Wow," the boss muttered in awe, finally recognizing Tomie.
This old man had once been an elite soldier under the fallen governor of the region—before it was renamed New Gehran. The boss didn’t know the full story of how Tomie survived the chaos of the past. He had been too young back then. Still, many from the previous regime had managed to endure until now.
"So it was you guys, huh?" the boss blurted out, making Lola, Tomie, and even Florida—who was standing guard nearby—turn toward him. "I mean... those robberies, the attacks, leaving the Goddess’s mark everywhere. The copycats—that’s what everyone called them."
After Lola left the territory, there had been countless imitators, people posing as the Thief of Ravah and leaving her signature behind. Hence the name: copycats.
"Why is he still here?" Florida muttered.
Lola shook her head slightly and whispered, "Honestly, I have no idea."
Tomie smiled and nodded. "It started with Billy—my son. The idea was his. We used it to divert the governors’ attention away from a potential rebellion. Jarvis knew guerrilla groups existed in the territory, but we were too small to be considered a real threat."
"He enjoys watching people struggle," Tomie added, bitterness lacing his tone. "He doesn’t like challenges. He prefers letting people believe they can challenge him before crushing them."
"I don’t think you should be telling me about the big dog in the main city," the boss muttered, his face souring. "I’ve heard of him. Who hasn’t?"
Everyone in the territory knew Jarvis—not just for installing a puppet governor, but for betraying the former one to seize power.
"Anyway," Lola interjected, refocusing on Tomie, "where is Billionaire now? From what I knew, he was only supposed to guide us to the entry point. I didn’t expect him to enter Ravah."
"He didn’t have a choice," Tomie replied. "I don’t know all the details, but he had to help set something up." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"A cellular tower?" Florida guessed.
Tomie nodded. "That’s right. Once it was finished, he came to me with the situation. Then he left again... to speak with other town representatives. That kid is well-connected."
"Will he be able to convince the other town chiefs to help?" Florida asked.
"No," Lola answered immediately, and Tomie smiled in agreement. "Numbers aren’t what we need. What matters is making sure more residents don’t get caught in the crossfire."
"Those willing to fight are welcome," Tomie added. "That’s why I sent some of my men to support him. Whether they fight or not, our priority is protecting the people."
"Where will you put them?" the boss asked, curiosity overtaking him.
"Underground," Tomie answered without hesitation. "There are facilities beneath this region—just like the ones under this bar. The late governor prioritized these tunnels during his time."
"Unfortunately, the project was halted when his power was challenged," Tomie continued, his voice softening. "That’s why..." He paused, exhaling slowly. "...he begged Jarvis and the governor to let him work underground instead. He spent the rest of his days completing it."
The late governor never finished the project, but he made significant progress in his final years.
"For Jarvis and the governor, watching him toil underground was punishment—and entertainment," Tomie said, meeting the boss’s gaze. "But for the man I swore my life to serve... it wasn’t mockery. It was his final duty to his people."
"And tonight," Tomie declared, his voice firm, "we will not waste that legacy. For one last time, the people of Ravah—especially the people of Ha, before that narcissistic pig renamed it after himself—will fight for their true leader and take shelter beneath his protection."
