The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 609: Everything Aligned
Lola and a few others—meaning almost everyone ready to fight—moved near the entrance of the District. However, only she, the boss, and a representative from Gigante stood before the large group waving Lola’s signature.
The rest took different positions with their weapons, including Florida and the Bellemonte member. Although they weren’t far, they were positioned well enough to get a clear view of the area and cover Lola if the worst came.
Everyone in their respective positions controlled their breathing. Florida, who was stationed at a higher elevation, gulped, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple as he kept his eyes sharp, with Lola as his top priority to protect.
As for those on the ground, the boss leaned closer to Lola.
"Goddess," he called, keeping his eyes on the first row of trucks coming to a stop several hundred meters away. "Any idea who those people are? Any familiar faces?"
Lola arched a brow, sliding her eyes toward him. "Why are you here?"
"Well." He cleared his throat and shrugged. "I am a genius—your genius. If someone needs to do the talking, it should be me, right?"
He clapped his hands once and nodded reassuringly at her. "You don’t have to say a word. Just stand there like the goddess you are, and let this loyal knight straighten those guys out."
"..." Lola shook her head faintly. She could clearly see the boss’s intention to steal the spotlight and get credited for it, just in case.
She didn’t point it out, though. This boss might be incompetent at mercenary work, but since forcing him into servitude, she had observed him enough to know he wasn’t entirely useless. He was simply in the wrong line of work.
Soon, the trucks came to a halt. Their engines continued running, breaking the silence in the district.
For a moment, tension rose in the air. The boss and the men beside Lola straightened their backs, gulping as uncertainty ran wild in their thoughts. Their minds immediately jumped to the worst—except for Lola.
"Someone’s coming out," the boss murmured, a spike of nervousness creeping up his spine.
Meanwhile, Lola narrowed her eyes as she watched several people dismount from one of the trucks. A few had already jumped out, but none of them looked familiar. Then, when she finally met eyes with the last man to step forward, the tension in her shoulders eased.
"That guy..." the boss whispered, brows knitting. "He looks... kind of familiar?"
Standing among the armed men was a slightly older man wearing a full combat uniform. His body was somewhat plump, but it was easy to tell that the muscles from his younger days were still there—just less honed than before.
Even the Gigante representative frowned, studying the man as a sense of familiarity tugged at his memory.
It took them a moment to realize who he was—at the same time, Lola spoke.
"It’s Tomie," Lola murmured as the man approached. When he drew closer, she raised her voice. "I assume you and Billionaire finally reconciled?"
The older man stopped several meters away and let out a faint smile. "My son and I had our differences," he said, his voice naturally gruff. "Especially regarding how to deal with the disease that spread across Ravah. But at the end of the day, our goal was the same."
"Looney," he continued, nodding slightly before stepping closer. When he stood a few paces from her, he extended a hand, eyes fixed on her. "When you and Hajime left, I knew both of you would return one way or another. So I waited..."
He trailed off, glancing at the army behind him. "We waited."
"No matter how impatient we grew," he added, turning back to her, "we told ourselves we would wait. And I’m glad we did—because now, we’re prepared to fight alongside you."
The boss and those listening stared at Tomie in shock, mouths agape. The Gigante representative slowly turned to Lola, his eyes swirling with mixed emotions.
Not just him, but everyone from Gigante who had witnessed her atop that roof—the same people who watched their homes burn and saw the flames reach the heavens, embodying the turmoil and rage they had suppressed for so long.
It made them wonder... was tonight truly meant to happen?
Was it merely a coincidence that Lola was here? That those injured Bellemonte men found their way to the granny, and that she treated them just long enough to keep them alive? Because when they thought about it, everything seemed to point in this direction.
Even the boss couldn’t help but question whether it was truly a mistake that led him to pursue Lola out of desperation, or if he had always been meant to end up in this position.
And the Bellemonte captives—were they meant to be captured, to face public execution, only to meet her? Because if they hadn’t been caught, they would’ve been somewhere else, far from this place.
With all of that, everyone couldn’t help but think about how every piece had fallen into place.
"We passed Gigante and saw the fire that swallowed the town whole," Tomie continued. "And I must say, watching it burn felt... liberating."
Fires weren’t uncommon in the territory. They happened often—just never to an entire town. And when they did, it was usually the governor and his hounds setting an example.
"And if that fire lit something within me," he added, extending his hand once more, "then I’m certain I’m not the only one who felt the courage to stand up and fight."
"Allow us to fight with you, Lune." Tomie’s eyes blazed with resolve as he held her gaze. "Let us die fighting—for ourselves and for our land—one last time."

Meanwhile, in the underground facility beneath the bar, everyone stared at the small tablet resting at the edge of the floor, serving as their makeshift television. It was small, but enough to show what was happening above.
Fear and uncertainty were etched onto every face. They had already expected their doom. At first, they believed the incoming force belonged to the governor—until Long spotted the flag and told them they might be wrong.
Still, without sound or context, they could only rely on what they saw.
"Are they... really here to fight with us?" one of the women helping tend to minor injuries whispered. "Or are they here to fight us?"
No one answered. All eyes remained glued to the screen.
Long swallowed hard as he watched the scene unfold.
When Lola finally reached out and clasped Tomie’s hand, silence swept through the underground facility. Then, a second later, it erupted into cheers despite the injuries. Even the heavily wounded stirred, opening their eyes and releasing shaky breaths of relief.
Long felt his shoulders sag as the corners of his eyes reddened. He bit his trembling lip, swallowing the lump forming in his throat.
Ransom paused in tending to a wound and quietly observed. Women covered their mouths as they wept. Others hugged each other in celebration. Even the patients’ expressions softened despite the pain.
Turning back to the tablet, Ransom let out a shallow breath.
"How..." he murmured, emotions swelling in his chest. He didn’t know what was said in there, but just watching it sent him a sense of a little bit of everything. "...monumental."
