The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 428: The Last Straw
Summer Monroe said politely, "Thank you, Teacher," then put down her textbook and sat down.
Her gaze swept ahead, noticing the resentment in Rachel Ross’s eyes and the straightened back of Willow Grant.
She didn’t want to reveal her English proficiency, but for her sweet roommate, she was willing to take the risk.
As soon as the bell rang, Teacher Sutton enthusiastically approached Summer Monroe, asking, "Summer Monroe, where did you learn that Aurelia accent?"
Summer had no choice but to lie, "I like to listen to international news when I have free time, and I picked it up after a while."
"Good! That’s a very good habit! Honestly, your accent is more standard than any of our school’s teachers," said Teacher Sutton.
Summer smiled faintly, "Thank you, Teacher, but I still don’t want to be the English class representative. I might leave soon."
"Why?" Teacher Sutton asked in confusion, "What do you mean by leaving?"
"Well, it’s just how it is."
She came back to avenge her mother, not to actually study at Crestfall University.
Teacher Sutton looked disappointed, "Alright, if you change your mind, let me know. Keep studying hard, even if you don’t get into Britton University, I can recommend you to my alma mater, Orphiel University."
Orphiel University is also one of the top universities globally, ranked just below Britton University.
Summer’s expression remained indifferent, "Thank you, Teacher, I will consider it seriously." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Okay, I won’t disturb you anymore," Teacher Sutton walked away with a smile, and his joy was evident.
This conversation happened to be overheard by Rachel Ross, who stood up in frustration and walked up to Summer Monroe, asking, "Summer, did you prepare in advance?"
Summer frowned, "I don’t have the time for that."
Rachel laughed sarcastically, "There are so many new words in the textbook, you’re just a girl from the countryside, not someone who grew up abroad. Who would believe you didn’t prepare?"
Summer raised an eyebrow and looked Rachel Ross in the eye, "Whether I prepared or not has nothing to do with you, does it?"
Rachel bit her lip, about to speak, when Ronan intervened coldly, "Hey, if you keep bothering me while I’m trying to sleep, I’ll make you regret it. Believe it or not?"
When Ronan’s face turned serious, supported by his tanned skin, he really looked a bit fierce.
Being from the Ross family, Rachel had never encountered someone who treated her with such an attitude.
She instantly felt embarrassed, biting her lip as she returned to her seat.
It’s all that bunch of good-for-nothings’ fault; if they had succeeded last night, Ronan wouldn’t have had a chance to help Summer.
She would still want to find someone to deal with Ronan properly, to see if he still dared to treat her with such attitude in the future.
Rachel didn’t notice that the other students in the class were looking at her with strange expressions.
They weren’t blind, and it had long been obvious that Rachel had some sort of grudge against Summer.
For Rachel, it might be best to keep their distance.
Willow Grant, however, noticed the odd looks directed at Rachel and silently congratulated herself for not confronting Summer earlier. Otherwise, it would’ve been her at the receiving end of Ronan’s reprimand.
Willow closed her eyes, telling herself not to get anxious.
No matter how good Summer’s English is, so what? Summer herself said she wouldn’t be in this class for long, and she must know that she won’t make it into the top twenty in the monthly test.
She just needed to wait patiently for the monthly test to arrive.
On the other side.
As soon as Teacher Sutton left the classroom, he headed straight to the teacher’s building.
"Professor Osborne! Where is Professor Osborne?"
