The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 753 - 794: The Disappearance of a Life as Beautiful as a Flower
Rosie Cooper wore a tight top and a maroon pencil skirt, her hair pinned up and her skin significantly darker. Her appearance was much like that of many local women, unremarkable.
"Who are you? How come I’ve never seen you before?" Xavier Young, seeing an unfamiliar face, couldn’t help but feel suspicious.
Rosie Cooper spoke to Xavier Young in the Himakati Language, "My name is Amei. Sally is my cousin. My husband passed away, so I came to stay with her."
"Oh." Xavier Young didn’t doubt her, as there were many women here who had lost their husbands.
"Do you have any children?" Sienna Johnson suddenly asked.
"I have a daughter."
"How old is she?"
"Five years old."
"Did you bring her with you?"
"She’s at home with her grandmother."
Rosie Cooper had no daughter; she was clearly talking about Curly. When Xavier Young had abducted her and brought her here, she had lost all communication with the outside world. She didn’t know if Walter Klein had followed her instructions to send her family back to Sileria City, if Adrian Desmond had woken up yet, or if Curly missed her after discovering she was gone.
Sienna Johnson looked at Rosie Cooper with sympathy in her eyes. "Poor thing... I have a daughter too, a very naughty one."
Rosie Cooper smiled. "Children are naturally lively."
"I happen to need a servant. You can stay by my side and attend to me."
Sienna Johnson didn’t ask Xavier Young’s permission and simply decided to keep Rosie Cooper with her. Fortunately, Xavier Young didn’t object.
Rosie Cooper bit her lip and asked, "The salary won’t be low, will it?"
"Of course not! I’ll double whatever salary you were making before!" Sienna Johnson said generously.
Rosie Cooper’s face lit up with joy. "Thank you, Madam. You’re truly a good person. The Buddha will bless you."
Xavier Young interjected, "She’s hardly a good person. Don’t be fooled by her."
Sienna Johnson retorted unhappily, "Compared to you, I’m at least a good person."
Sienna Johnson got up, took Rosie Cooper’s hand, and said, "Come, let’s go to my room. I’ll find some clothes for you to wear."
"Thank you, Madam."
Under Xavier Young’s gaze, the two women chatted as if they were young mothers discussing their children. Rosie Cooper talked about Curly, and Sienna Johnson listened with great interest.
When they entered the room, Rosie Cooper exclaimed excitedly, "Madam..."
"How’s Curly?"
"Curly and the others have returned to Sileria City."
Hearing this news, Sienna Johnson let out a long sigh of relief. "As long as they’re back, that’s good... That’s good..." In Sienna Johnson’s heart, Sileria City was a safe haven. As long as they returned there, they would be safe.
"Has Sixth Master woken up?" Sienna Johnson asked.
"He’s awake, but he’s still very weak and spends most of his time unconscious."
Sienna Johnson’s spirits fell, a faint pain visible in her eyes.
Rosie Cooper didn’t hide the truth from her. "Melanie Carpenter is now living at the Desmond Manor and personally taking care of Sixth Master. He doesn’t know that you were kidnapped by Xavier Young."
"You weren’t sent by Sixth Master?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"I was sent by Curly."
Sienna Johnson asked in astonishment, "How could she know I was kidnapped?"
"Curly couldn’t see you, and Sixth Master was seriously injured, so she went to find Lucas Robertson. He told her everything, and she asked Lucas and me to rescue you. Curly said she had obediently returned home and asked you to come find her soon."
Sienna Johnson felt a bittersweet warmth in her heart. That girl, usually so willful and unruly, I never expected her to be so caring.
"Curly is a good child."
"Mm."
The door was suddenly slammed open. Xavier Young entered, followed by several men carrying guns. His gaze swept over Sienna Johnson’s face before landing on Rosie Cooper.
"Has Adrian Desmond woken up?"
Rosie Cooper lowered her head and murmured, "Boss, I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Pressing his gun against Rosie Cooper’s forehead, Xavier Young said menacingly, "I heard everything you just said. Still want to pretend? If you don’t talk, I’ll shoot you dead right now!"
Sienna Johnson stepped in front of Rosie Cooper, shielding her from Xavier Young’s anger. "She’s my sister’s bodyguard. She knew I was in trouble and came to see me. For my sake, please let her go."
"For your sake, I’ve already spared Elliot Carpenter!"
"Then what do you want?"
"No one loyal to Adrian Desmond can be allowed to live!"
As soon as his words fell, a gunshot rang out. Sienna Johnson heard Rosie Cooper’s muffled grunt behind her. Two or three seconds later, with a heavy thud, Rosie Cooper fell to the ground.
It happened too fast; Xavier Young had barely given her time to react.
Sienna Johnson turned with difficulty. She saw Rosie Cooper on the ground, a bloody hole in her forehead. Rosie Cooper lay there, her wide, disbelieving eyes gradually dilating as she drew her last breath, dying with them still open.
"Rosie!" Sienna Johnson cried out, wanting to check on Rosie Cooper, but Xavier Young grabbed her arm. "She’s already dead!"
Sienna Johnson whirled around and slapped Xavier Young. That slap shattered all her hesitation. She had come here with another purpose: to avenge Adrian Desmond—to repay that gunshot. This man was no longer the one she had once known.
"What are you waiting for? Drag her out and bury her!"
"Yes!"
Sienna Johnson watched as two men, one holding Rosie Cooper’s head and the other her legs, carried her out. She stood there, stunned, still unable to accept that Rosie Cooper had just died in front of her.
"From now on, no unfamiliar faces around Madam! Understand?" Xavier Young ordered his men.
"Yes!"
"Boss, please let me go! I don’t know her at all. I thought she just wanted a job; I didn’t know she was a bad person..." Sally cried, snot and tears streaming down her face as she tried to explain.
Xavier Young, finding the woman a nuisance, said, "Dispose of her as well!" His tone was like he was getting rid of trash.
"Madam, please help me..."
Sienna Johnson didn’t speak up for her; she was still immersed in her grief. Rosie Cooper was only twenty, so young, and she had died just like that. Her vibrant life had been brutally extinguished by Xavier Young.
Xavier Young touched his cheek, his voice laced with displeasure. "Next time, if you dare to slap my face again, I’ll sleep with you!"
Sienna Johnson stepped back, looking at Xavier Young in fear.
Xavier Young took a step forward; Sienna Johnson retreated several steps, widening the distance between them. Seeing the growing space between them, Xavier Young didn’t dare to advance further.
