Chapter 1135: The Feng Family Council

Bang!

The door slammed shut as Tuoba Yan stormed out. Ling Feng could only shake his head. That woman's temper changed faster than the wind. One moment calm, the next completely unreadable.

He lifted his hand. Between his fingers lay a smear of black ash, the remains of a crushed Soul Enslaving Parasite.

"This kind of vile creature should have vanished a thousand years ago. What kind of being is that Tianluo Ancestor?"

Ling Feng's gaze turned thoughtful as he rubbed his chin. "And that Second Young Miss of the Feng Family... What secret does she carry that could make even the Tianluo Ancestor go to such lengths?"

He exhaled softly. "Forget it. The truth will reveal itself soon enough."

Fatigue washed over him. Extracting the Soul Enslaving Parasite from the Feng Family patriarch's Sea of Mind had consumed a great deal of his spiritual power. He decided to rest and recover before making his next move.

A day passed quietly.

The next morning, the supposedly gravely ill patriarch of the Feng Family suddenly summoned all clan elders and direct descendants to the main hall for an urgent meeting.

"What's the patriarch doing? He's still sick, yet he's calling everyone together?"

Most of the younger members of the Feng Family knew little of what had truly happened. They only knew that the patriarch had fallen ill and passed authority to his "future son-in-law." With the backing of several elders, the Tiejian Sect's sect leader had taken complete control of the clan.

Now, after more than ten days without showing himself, the patriarch had called for a full assembly. Everyone sensed that something important was about to happen.

"I said it from the start. Letting a Tiejian Sect sect leader act as patriarch is ridiculous. What is that tiny sect even worth?" a young disciple grumbled.

"Quiet," an older clansman hissed, tugging him back. "Do you have a death wish? If the Tiejian Sect people hear you, no one can save you."

"Hmph. When did our Feng Family become their property?"

The young man clenched his fists, fury burning in his eyes.

"What choice do we have? The Grand Elder and the others already sided with the acting patriarch. Are you planning to defy the elders yourself?"

"What a disgrace. The whole clan is rotting from within."

Frustrated sighs spread among the younger generation. Ever since the acting patriarch took charge, life in the Feng Family had grown unbearable.

In a corner of the hall, Ling Feng leaned casually against a pillar, arms crossed, listening to their whispers. The young ones still had spirit, but with their elders bound by the Soul Enslaving Parasite, they were powerless to act.

Tuoba Yan, Fatty Huang, and Lan Yingying stood beside him, waiting for the drama to unfold.

The Tiejian Sect leader would never have imagined that anyone could remove the Soul Enslaving Parasite from the Feng Family patriarch, let alone possess a Vermilion-Eyed Ice Silkworm capable of purging its venom so quickly.

Before long, the Feng Family patriarch appeared with his daughter at his side. Under countless watchful eyes, they walked toward the head of the hall.

He wore a blue robe and carried a long sword.

Each step radiated calm strength. To the astonished clan members, the proud and commanding patriarch they once knew had returned.

His eyes gleamed with authority, his presence alone enough to silence the room. Standing before the patriarch's seat, he surveyed the crowd in silence.

"The patriarch... he's recovered?"

"Thank the heavens! He can take back control! To hell with the Tiejian Sect! I've had enough of them!"

Excited murmurs rippled through the hall. The patriarch raised his hand, and silence fell at once. Every gaze fixed on him, filled with hope and anticipation. Their leader, the man who had once led the Feng Family to glory, had returned.

"Everyone, I have gathered you here today for an important matter."

Suppressing the fury in his heart, the patriarch spoke coldly. "In recent days, I was controlled by villains and forced to act against my will. Because of that, our Feng Family fell under the traitorous Tiejian Sect. Today, I will purge these traitors and reclaim our clan's honor!"

"Good!"

"Good!"

"Good!"

The younger disciples shouted in unison, their voices echoing throughout the hall.

A mocking voice broke through the noise.

"Well said, Patriarch Feng. You certainly sound noble."

Qi Hongwu, the Tiejian Sect sect leader, strode in surrounded by several elders.

Silence fell once again. Every disciple of the Feng Family glared at him with hatred. In just a few days, he had thrown the entire clan into chaos. He deserved death!

Worse still, he had even tried to claim the Feng Family's Second Young Miss for himself. The very thought filled them with disgust.

That old fool was shameless beyond belief.

Only those still under his control through the Soul Enslaving Parasite remained expressionless. The rest looked ready to tear him apart.

Shouts erupted across the hall.

"Purge the traitors! Restore our honor!"

"Down with that filthy Tiejian Sect scum!"

"..."

"Perfect timing," the patriarch said coldly, fixing Qi Hongwu with a piercing glare. "Qi Hongwu, your life ends today!"

Qi Hongwu sneered with confidence. He assumed the patriarch was merely suppressing the Soul Enslaving Parasite through some temporary secret art. "Old man Feng, did you forget what it feels like when the parasite's poison gnaws through your bones?"

He formed a hand seal and began to chant softly.

In the past, the patriarch would have screamed as the parasite tore through his mind, seizing his will. But this time, he merely sneered, his expression calm and unyielding.

"This... how is this possible?"

Qi Hongwu's face twitched. Panic flickered in his eyes.

The Soul Enslaving Parasite had been cultivated by the Tianluo Ancestor himself. Only his direct disciples knew how to control it. How could anyone else possibly remove it?

Qi Hongwu's gaze snapped toward the corner of the hall and locked onto Ling Feng. His face twisted with rage. "You brat. This is your doing, isn't it?"

"Hehe!"

Ling Feng stepped forward with a light smile. "Apologies, Green-Hat Sect Leader. I've done too many good deeds lately. Which one exactly are you blaming me for?"
