Buji could hear faint voices from the background, probably belonging to the priestess. But clearly, he heard a voice, feminine but it sounded with the appearance of a strange screen.

Given the choice to embrace a monstrous path, Buji seizes it with unyielding resolve.
’If becoming a monster is my only path to strength, I’ll take it. Fighting against these hunters was going to be a job, but imagine a world where I had control over monsters like this Night Priestess, had my own monster kingdom, and becoming the strongest of all. Stepping on these hunters won’t be a deal anyway.’
"Yes!"
And everything became dark.
Buji was drowned in a consuming darkness. He felt weightless, adrift in the endless void. His body, once seared with pain from the arrows and the oppressive grasp of the Night Priestess, now felt strangely calm.
The oppressive cold he had felt in the bat dome gave way to a tepid warmth, which contrasted with the emptiness surrounding him. The golden light that had emanated from him moments ago flickered faintly, like a tiny ember fighting against a suffocating wind.
He continued moving deeper into the void and afar, there was utter illumination. It seemed to be coming out from a hall.
’Another hall?’
The door that led into the hall was left ajar to allow any visitor to step into. Seemingly, Buji was their current visitor, so he continued inside.
As he stepped into the hall, he let out a gasp of amazement.
The inner of the hall smelled hell, but everyone inside the hall seemed to be calm. Not only that, there were other companions.
Beasts and Monsters.
Hundreds of people inside the hall sat on one knee, facing a white haired bald man standing in the platform affront. Beside him, was another man who he could not clearly see.
He continued to step into the arena, steadying his movement forward to the two people standing at a platform in front of an altar.
As he reached the middle of the hall, the bright light tripped off, allowing shots of steady fire to erupt from beside the pillars that demarcated the isle of the hall from the seating arena.
What he noticed saw shocked him.
Behind the two people standing in his front, were two scary monsters. One of them was in the form of a dragon, while the other was in the form of a unicorn.

The mere appearance of the dragon proved it was a terror incarnate. Its scales were glistening like black diamonds in the faint light of the firy-lit hall. The eyes glowed with malevolent crimson fire.
The dragon suddenly rose in the air. Its movements were undulated as if flapped its wings, casting long ominous shadows on the ground.
Buji’s fear got the better as it seemed the dragon approached him, its maw open and filled with razor-sharp teeth. Reflexively, Buji ducked but the dragon took a swift drift. Shooting fire from its maw, lighting the candles Buji only noticed were cemented on the pillars.
It continued until it had lit the candles returning behind the old white-haired man who still stood strong. It recoiled its wing and remained at ease. The unicorn on its own remained calm.
"Come forth!" the old man’s voice started.
’Wait, was he referring to me?’
"Come forth!" the voice repeated again.
Suddenly, Buji felt his legs begin to move. He was steadily and continually approaching the two men who stood in front of him.
"The dragon king, ruler of the monster world has decided! By giving young mister Buji the privilege to survive and be the youngest being to awaken the Monster system at just seventeen years old."
There were cheers in the hall, followed by growls. Just then, Buji searched around the hall and noticed some among them had a beast or monster by their sides. He guessed those people were likely to be Animagi.
Dragons, unicorns, and some other beasts all rested beside a few individuals.
’I guess I should have read through the monster part of the SEA book to understand what’s going on here.’
"Since he passed the test, I have decided to accept him to continue my bloodline."
The cheers from the hall became louder. The smile on the face of the man beside the old man filled with a smile curled on his lips.
’Just who is he?’ And Buji saw him clearly. He was Buji’s father.
"My father!" he shouted, but seeing no reaction from those inside the hall, he concluded his voice was not heard at all. So, he heard to run forward to and at least hug his father.
With a dash, he leaped forward and ended up hitting his body against a barrier in his front. A transparent one so he didn’t see it. The impact of the hit against the barrier sent him trolling to the floor.
Everyone’s attention shifted to him where he lay on the ground. They had felt the energy.
"Just how did he know what he was meant to do? It shows a promising leader," the old man spoke to Buji’s father who was by the side.
It seemed he had torn the curtain down. The barrier had been separated. Buji’s handiwork. Unknowing handiwork.
"Nice," Buji muttered and began to rise from the floor.
Everyone’s attention was still focused on the young boy who was in the lead, making his movements towards the dragon king. This young boy appeared to be only seventeen at the moment.
The young boy seemed to have a beautiful innocent smile on his face as he approached the altar in front.
He had arrived where the white-haired old man stood, seeing his father’s face clearly. And the blooming smile on his face that showed he was proud of him. The young boy smiled back at his father and faced the altar.
Slowly, he knelt down and bowed his head in honor of whatever the altar signified.
The old man stepped closer and placed his hands on the head of the young boy. "After now, after today, you shall begin your journey into the Monster land."
As he said it, Buji’s father brought forth a toy snake which he held in his hand and handed it over to the old man.
’How? I mean, I’m very sure I left this toy somewhere in my room in Mr. Zin’s house.’
"I see. You have the symbol of a snake, one of the great monsters but is yet to be awakened," the old man said, collecting the snake toy from Buji’s father. "Your mission is to awaken this snake which is the last of the monster bloodline, and get acquainted with it."
"It will be part of you and you will be part of it. Every task it performs, you command. Every decision it makes, you incite."
"You are the last of the Yin’s bloodline. A promising great one. Do thou what is expected and bring down what is required."
"You can step forward now," the old man instructed, dropping the snake toy on the altar.
Buji stood up from where he knelt and moved closer to the altar. The snake toy now glowed with a sharp golden light.
"Now! Sip from its energy. Engulf its ability."
And immediately Buji’s hand touched the snake toy, he woke up.
’Was it a dream? Or an Illusion?’
"…"
’But, I survived… how?’
Buji wished he was dreaming. For some reason, he didn’t think he can ascertain the fact, if it was actually reality.
Fortunately, there was proof that he was alive. He didn’t see any arrows stuck in his body, but he did see patches, covered with bandages.
He looked around him and saw that he was in the hospital. The scent of the room he was in choked him and he coughed…
"You’ve finally woken up."
"Huh..."
Kira was the speaker. She said it, patting Buji on his back with her soft hands to calm his nerve. "Are you okay?"
"I should be. Just the scents."
But then, he was taken by surprise from the noise coming from outside.
