Chapter 57: A Threat To The True Identity (Ch.57)

Zariah stood in the throne room, her hands crossed behind her back and her eyes closed in meditation, πšπ—Ώπ—²πžπš π•–π›π—»π—Όπ―π•–πš•.πšŒπ—Όπ—Ί

Zariah did not need to see them to know the representatives from the Sea Kingdom and the Floral Domain stood in a tense standoff before King Askel.

The representatives from the supernatural races and the Ethereal Alphas were all present and all eyes were fixed warily on the two volatile species knowing either could snap at any moment.

After the scene at the Royal Lycan Arena had been taken care of,

King Askel had dismissed the representatives and the Ethereal Alphas to convene once again after the injuries sustained by Princess Shariah and Lady Floraina were seen to.

Of course, the Royal Lycan warriors had kept a close eye on the two parties all the while in order to prevent a repeat of the situation they had just narrowly avoided.

Zariah had momentarily taken her leave to deliberate over some thoughts in much needed silence,

Though King Askel had objected, probably wanting Zariah stuck to his side, Zariah naturally was having none of it and saw to her personal matters without a care for his opinion.

Zariah had taken some time to ponder over the expected arrival of the head of the supernatural council and what implications it would have to her plan.

Regardless of the years that had gone by and the fact that they had not met since her father’s passing,

Zariah doubted the head of the supernatural council would not immediately recognize her to be who she really was and then Zariah would have no methods to explain why the revered Crimson Alpha was posing as a head warrior.

This was a crucial point for Zariah, the full details of the Alpha King’s grand plan was still unknown to her and Zariah was yet to find any leads related to the darkness or the forsaken,

Zariah needed to subvert the Alpha King’s plan before it began wrecking havoc across the supernatural realm,

There was not much time left and the only way the Alpha King would make a slip up is if he remained the way he was now, believing no one was unto him yet and that no one could see beneath his facade,

This was the only way Zariah could remain close to him and keep an eye on him without leveraging on the mate bond like Caedmon had done to her,

Zariah had sworn to protect not just the Ethereal domain but the supernatural realm, all of it and to do this, she needed her true identity as Crimson Alpha to remain a secret.

For now, the Alpha King’s guard was lowered to the Crimson wolves, he was not wary of them and the same went for all the other representatives,

Zariah was not certain if it was because the Crimson Moon was not yet a part of the Alpha King’s plan at this point in time or because he believed he could win the Crimson Moon over to his side since they had honored his invitation,

Zariah was also not certain if coming out of the Crimson barrier before hand had changed the future in anyway and if it had, Zariah could not possible predict if the Alpha King’s madness would begin sooner rather than later,

Knowing this, Zariah knew she could no longer trust in the time frame of the previous lifetime which left Zariah with almost nothing to trust in,

Although Zariah knew of the major events to happen, she had little to no knowledge of the events that lead up to them all because she had been within the Crimson barrier all along, only relying on untrustworthy intel.

Zariah had known of the war between the Sea Kingdom and the Floral Domain, she had known it would happen soon, however she had not expected it to happen so soon.

The Crimson Moon had only received this information too late in the previous lifetime, at that time, the war was already in full scale,

Prince Treyton was dead and so was Princess Eloneth, at that time, there was already no methods to remedy the situation and Zariah had felt guilty but accepted the fact that it was to late to interfere.

Due to this, Zariah did not know exactly when the war had begun, which was why it had caught Zariah off guard,

Zariah was certain this was not the only information the Crimson Moon had received too late,

It was already established that the information network of the Crimson Moon had been tampered,

Of all Zariah knew from the previous lifetime, Zariah was not certain what she could trust and what she couldn’t,

This was why Zariah needed to remain by the Alpha King’s side, she needed to remain someone the other representatives could regard on a basis of respect but not reverence,

This way, Zariah could fish for information and stop the disasters to happen before hand, it was the only method Zariah had now to make up for the mistakes of the previous lifetime.

The battle between the Sea Kingdom and the Floral Domain had actually begun just like this and although Zariah had known it was to happen, she had not known exactly when it began.

Zariah was living this lifetime a second time over and still it horrified her that she was not even setting she could change the fate of the Crimson Moon,

The suddenness of this event had reminded Zariah of the fact that there were too many variables, too many ways this could all blow up in her face and send her spiraling back into the pit of darkness she had crawled out of.

With so much on the line for Zariah, from the fate of the Crimson Moon to her own life to the fate of the entire supernatural realm, Zariah did not have the luxury to be caught off guard,

Too many lives were at stake, she just could not afford to fail and yet the very first pivotal event that had occured since her arrival had somehow escaped her till it blew up in her face.

Zariah did not even know how to feel about this.

Beyond all this considerations was the fact that the head of the supernatural council would arrive at any moment and Zariah knew for certain he would recognize her instantly.

If he had still recognized her when she had been in a partial shift, transformed into a monstrous creature by the darkness, then he would know who she was the moment he laid eyes on her.

He would know that Zariah was daughter of Alpha Zewin Togan Moonstone and ultimately, Zariah was Crimson Alpha.

It was already unbelievable that no one else had figured it out with Zariah’s Crimson red orbs and hair, Zariah could only guess they believed Crimson coloured features would be a regular in the Crimson Moon Pack.

It was infact the exact opposite, only the bloodline of the Crimson Alpha actually possessed Crimson coloured physical features and only the Crimson Alpha wolf actually possessed Crimson coloured fur.

All other Crimson Wolves had regular coloured furs, the unique feature being the Crimson marking on their foreheads and their gigantic sizes.

Whatever it was, Zariah knew the fact that she was Crimson Alpha could not be revealed under any circumstances.

There was a natural tense wariness between Alphas especially when both possessed almost equal power and this was precisely the case between the Alpha King and the Crimson Alpha.

If it were revealed that Zariah was Crimson Alpha, Zariah’s mission would become a whole lot more difficult and Zariah could not have that.

Yet at the same time, Zariah knew she would have to confront the head of the supernatural council one way or the other and for Zariah, it was always better sooner rather than later.

Zariah pondered over it for a long while and had come to a decision, she trusted in the fact that at the very least, the head of the supernatural council had no reasons to expose her true identity.

If anything, he would seek for an explanation from her for why she was posing as the head warrior of the Crimson Moon and why she had left the Crimson barrier against her father’s original will.

The fact remained, Zariah could not stay detached from the present stand off between the Sea Kingdom and the Floral Domain,

Too many innocent lives had been sacrificed over this war in the previous lifetime and it had dragged on for too long.

The Crimson Moon had done nothing to help in the previous lifetime, but this time, Zariah would never let this war happen.

All the rulers of the supernatural realm each played an essential part in protecting the supernatural realm from the darkness,

If truly the darkness had returned or someone was awakening it in secret, then Zariah needed the leaders of the supernatural realm ready to take action at any moment to eradicate their common enemy.
