Chapter 37 - Half-truth

Aziel stood from his bed and congratulated Rocky and Jake.

"You guys are improving at a rather fast rate, I should say. And as a reward, I have a special gift for you, but you will have to train harder to master this gift. I will give it to you soon, or when I see you guys are ready to inherit this gift. Tomorrow is a start for another week so we'll take a rest for the night."

Aziel went back into his bed when suddenly Jake complain once again.

"That's it? Are you guys just gonna pretend like nothing happens to me? I was being haunted you know? HAUNTED!"

Jake stood in his bed while crossing his arms to show that he was upset and scared.

"Jake, what you heard were not voices of the ghosts, it came from us through telepathy. So lay back in your bed and take a rest. I thought you already figured it out earlier?"

Rocky finally revealed their prank.

"What!? No, I didn't!"

Jake sat back still had his arms crossed, and a grumpy face.

"That only means one thing Jake. You can now hear us telepathically as well."

Aziel responded.

Jake calms down after hearing Aziel's words.

"Really? Although, I still don't get it, but it seems a useful ability."

Jake finally had his goofy smile back and lay back on his bed.

"You guys rest ahead, I had to do something first."

"Okay!

"Yes!"

Rocky and Jake happily responded.

"What a bunch of kids."

Damian shook his head as he talk to Aziel telepathically. Forgetting that the other can now hear telepathy as well.

"We heard that!"

Jake and Rocky simultaneously responded.

Damian slaps his forehead, realizing his mistake.

"I'm sorry guys. I didn't mean to say that."

Damian apologized but there was no more reply as the other two had fall asleep instantly.

"Sigh. I should also take my rest. I've never been so exhausted in my life than today, I didn't know babysitting can be this hard."

Damian fell asleep immediately as well. Aziel was the only one left awake.

Aziel concentrated his magical core to contact Eleanor telepathically.

"Good evening to you Miss Eleanor. Do you have time to talk?"

"Aziel, my child. Yes, I always have time to spare for you. What is it that you want to talk about?"

"Thank you for your kindness. I would like to apologize about what happened earlier. I know you saw what happened, but I hope you're not angry with me."

Aziel crossed his fingers, hoping he won't get the same mouthing he got from Damian.

"Yes my child. I did saw what happened in the dungeon, but I am not angry or anything. You see, when you were brought to me and decided to train under my care, I start worrying less about what others might say or saw. Because you made me realized that everything happens for a reason. And if ever those bastard decided to come into my doorstep, I am ready."

Aziel could feel the convictions in Eleanor's words.

"Yes ma'am, and I will be there to aid you."

"I know that my child. So, is there any more concerns that you want to talk about?"

Eleanor asked.

"Yes ma'am. It's about the beast that talks, he said his name was Grim. Do you know, by any chance, who he works for or the one that he calls owner?"

Aziel asked but it took a long time for Eleanor to respond.

"Miss Eleanor? Are you still there?"

"Yes. I'm sorry if I took a long time to respond. The thing is I know who Grim is, and who he calls owner."

Eleanor paused again for almost a minute before continuing.

"I'm having second thought whether to tell you about it or not, because it's still too early for you to learn this information."

"May I know why, Ma'am?"

"You will eventually learn it sooner or later, so why am I having second thought when I can just tell you right away, right?"

Aziel nodded in response.

"You see, Grim was created by me..."

Aziel's jaw dropped to the floor as he didn't expect the information to be a jaw dropping one.

"I'm sorry Ma'am, could you please repeat what you just said? I thought I heard you say Grim was created by you, hehe."

"Indeed. I created Grim as my guard, but I eventually gifted it to one of the most trustworthy person I knew. And that is Apollo, he's the only one I know I can put my trust into. He's the only mediator between me and the other gods."

"A... Apollo? Isn't he the one that governs this Kingdom? What if he kills me if he finds out that I killed Grim?"

Aziel consciously asked as he didn't was to anger any god, at least not yet.

"I doubt it. I bet he already foresaw this incident, and I bet that he also knew that we had a connection. You see, when a god give their blessing to their "Chosen Ones", those chosen ones' aura resonates with theirs. That means, that when time you felt Apollo's gaze he already knew our connection."

"Why didn't you say it sooner, ma'am? Now, I'm a little paranoid."

Aziel practically cried as he asked Eleanor.

"Because it was useless, my child. The moment you have first entered the front gate, he already laid his eyes you. And like I said earlier, he is one of the most trustworthy person I know."

"Sigh. Okay ma'am. I know I can trust your decisions. That's all I want to talk for tonight. Thank you for your time and for answering my questions."

Aziel bowed his head to Eleanor and cuts their connection before he went to bed.

"I know helping you by giving you information can prejudiced the whole story behind those rocks. But, it's a good thing that you didn't asked about it. I want you to know the unbiased truth."

Eleanor thought to herself.

*Back to the Mount Olympus*

"What a beautiful and huge star. It's the same star that appeared for a moment, over a year ago. I know this time will eventually come. A time where all the gods must bow down to a new ruler."

Apollo thought as he was looking at the starry sky while playing with his lyre.

A few moments later, a knock came from his door.

"Come in."

Apollo said as he put his lyre in his chair.

"Apollo. It's been a long time since the last time I had seen your face. Come give you father a huge."

Zeus greeted sarcastically.

"We don't do that father, and you know that."

Apollo stared at his Father.

"Tell me, why have you bothered on coming into my abode personally? What is it that you wanted to talk about? Couldn't you just give the message to Hermes or ordered one of your birds?"

"Because it's an important, and I want to hear it firsthand from my dear son."

Zeus offered a hug.

"Oh come on! We both know you didn't mean that. Just get on with the matters that you want to talk about and let's continue with our lives."

Apollo sat on his chair and offered Zeus one as well.

However, Zeus didn't take a seat and just walked towards the balcony before stating his purpose.

"Tell me, who is it? I know you already saw it, you just have to tell me."

Zeus turned his menacing gazes to Apollo's eyes.

"Why? Are you afraid that this person who you are talking about might just snatch your throne one day?"

Apollo provoked Zeus.

Zeus dashed and grabbed Apollo's collar in just a blink of an eye.

He walks to back to the balcony while holding Apollo's collar.

"I know your only purpose in this castle is to give us heads-up about what was to happen, and when it would happen, but if you can't serve your purpose, what makes you think that I don't just throw you in this balcony?"

"Because I'm your son."

Apollo stared at Zeus' gaze.

"Ha! HUWAHAHAHA! You've got some balls Apollo. Hmp!"

Zeus got really annoyed and threw Apollo back in his room so hard that destroys most of his room that was made from gold.

"Urgh! What the hell were you doing, old man!? You can't just barge into my room and disrespect me. I don't care if you are the King, have a little reverence towards your people!"

"Will you tell me now, though?"

Zeus stomped on Apollo's chest that made his cough.

"He's just a mortal. You have nothing to worry about him!"

Apollo thought that Zeus will remove his foot from his chest after saying that, but no. Zeus increased the pressure and lean on Apollo's face.

"Where can I find him?"

"You... will... eventually see him... after a... year... during... a tournament! HUAH!"

Zeus removed his foot and leave the room without even taking a second look at Apollo.

Apollo was furious about the disrespect he had suffer from Zeus, so he decided to say just the half-truth.

"You will definitely go down, and your throne will be smashed to pieces Zeus!"

Apollo thought to himself as he struggles to stand up from the pain in his chest.
