Harvesting Miracle Stone from Marmara Clansmen leads to their death but over the millennium, the Clan has come across ways to bypass that.

That led to abolishing Death Sentences on heinous criminals that can be controlled. But, if one is too strong and too cunning, death is delivered.

However, sometimes death is better than what one will be subjected to; the only saving grace is that they have a chance of atonement.

In the case one didn't die when the Miracle Stone was harvested, then a part of the world will reject that person for at most a century.

"Part of the world?" Lawa asked, he didn't understand what that mean.

"Yes, part of the world. Anything in the world can reject you and be your mortal enemy." The old man said.

He then gave examples about himself. The very first time he harvested Miracle Stone from himself, Iron became lethal to him.

The old man said he couldn't even come close to a 10-meter radius of any iron or even an alloy of metal.

If he did, his body would weaken and his blood would thicken before he began to bleed to death.

That was his first horrifying experience that almost claimed his life numerous times. Especially in a world where even within solid and rock one can find an iron deposit.

He was later confined to a tall tree far away from the ground. Also, he had to hide away from the wind in case it was carrying iron dust.

Lawa can only imagine how that would be because in the Clan now, metals of different types was in abundance and iron was one of the most found metals among them

"I spent a century like that, but after it wore off, I felt profound enlightenment, and I developed senses toward iron-related things."

Lawa nodded in understanding.

"The one backlash that I suffered the most and I hope never to go through to is when Water rejected me"

Lawa trembled and exclaimed, "Water!?"

"Yes, water. I can't come near it, let alone drink it. I can't even take fruits that has flowing liquid in them."

"How did you survive?" Lawa asked in fear.

"The thing is, after subsequent harvest, the number of years began to reduce. When the Water Rejection came, I only endured for 45 years!"

"That's still a long time!" Lawa said. He can't imagine himself living for 45 years without water.

"Well, I managed but indeed suffered the greatest that time. I became like a dried stick; if not because normal cooked food that doesn't have running liquid can be eaten by me with minor injuries, I would have truly died!"

"You are really brave," Lawa said in awe.

"Of course, I am. Haha." The old man cackled before he said seriously, "But I began to fear that the next rejection will come from the air!"

Lawa froze, and the old man burst into laughter.

"You are damn right to be terrified. What if your rejection is from the air? The very air we breathe!"

This was a way to dissuade Lawa.

"That…"

Lawa's conviction wavered. It's meaningless if he just died by breathing air.

He didn't even get to try his plans.

"Lawa, I think it's best you sell the information about Restoration Elixir and the other treasures so that others can obtain them for you. Even if they failed , they can try again."

The old man explained with a show of concern.

"This way, you don't have to destroy your talent and potential and have fake growth. But if you destroyed your potential and you failed to obtain the elixir, you are done for!"

Lawa blinked for some time before he said to the old man.

"Actually, elixir is the easiest to obtain and I can't imagine myself failing in that regard."

"We can continue with the harvest,"

The old man sighed before he had Lawa drink something till he filled his stomach to the limit.

"This will allow you to have a similar constitution like me but for only the duration of the harvest. Here, make your mark on this Table Contract."

It was to show evidence he didn't force Lawa, and he didn't make Lawa do it, but Lawa was the one who insisted.

Lawa lay on the stone platform decorated with Marma letters and took a deep breath.

The old man brought out dust and sprinkled it on Lawa's body; some touched him, and some floated around him.

With a snap of his finger, a flame ignited and burned the dust that was floating before they made their way to Lawa's body.

"You will be burnt but the fire will not go beyond your skin." The old man warned, "If you failed to resist the pain there might be severe injury."

Lawa's body tensed as the flame licked his skin but he held on more before he was engulfed by it.

"Guess he has endured far worse because of the prophecy!" The old man commented.

Burning fire was one of the worst pains one can endure. However, due to the process, this fire wasn't as great as the original one, but fire is still fire; the pain shouldn't be endured by teenage boy like Lawa.

Seeing it was time, the right palm of the old man glowed red and was about to strike Lawa's chest when a voice reached them.

"On whose authority are you doing that!"

The old man stopped, irritated before he threw the tablet Lawa marked on. Within was the interaction between Lawa and the old man and the reason why the old man agreed.

The shadowy man read through it before he sighed. It wasn't because of Lawa's conviction they were allowing it.

To them, that was bullshit, but because Lawa's mental health is deteriorating.

If left in the clan everything will be worse until he reached a point of no return. However, if he was left to leave, he would have a sense of hope that he could cling to, and he may recover.

The problem was that fake Equality can't be reversed easily. He may be healed but cultivation will just not be possible for him.

"All right, I allow it!"

The shadow was the Marmara Clan Chief.

The Old Gatekeeper slammed his hand on Lawa's chest, and immediately it sank, vaporising the flesh and bones until it reached Lawa's spine, and the old man pulled his hand with incredible concentration.

This might not be the first time he experiments on this but he doesn't want Lawa to die or face some problems.

That will make things more complicated.

Thankfully, the moment he pulled his hand out the flesh and bones began to heal fast. By the time the old man's hand wasn't on Lawa's chest, the chest was back to normal.

"What a terrifying tenacity?" The old man stepped back in astonishment.

To him, the extraction of the Miracle Stone was still a mystery, but the process of invoking the extraction was very much craft.

He made Lawa drink something which dull his mind to the pain and increases his healing power.

At the same time, he has tainted Lawa's body with his aura, which emulated his physique. The platform and Marma letters were arranged for the purpose of the extraction.

All this combined was meant to accelerate Lawa's healing when he was pushed close to his death.

But the driving force of healing was the Will and Tenacity of one's heart.

The burning fire was there to stimulate Lawa's resistance and desire to live. So fighting the heat of the fire and enduring it will accelerate the healing.

The fact that the healing happened so fast means that he has incredible tenacity beyond most people of his age.

This concept was also the same as how Lawa managed to survive as Hound till the very end.

What drove and pushed him forward for 20+ years was the tenacious will he has while others just snap and die when their tenacity reached its end.

Dub luv.

Lawa's heart beat and a glowing gold light appeared above his chest.

Mysterious Energy collected and turned to oval crystals like stone.

"Sapphire…" the old man muttered. Miracle Stone came in different colors even though they may perform the same function but there were differences in what they could do best.

"Maybe water restrictions or something about blue!" The old man muttered before he looked at Lawa.

The boy was awake and was staring at the miracle stone above him.

"Can you breathe!" The old man asked worriedly.

"Yeah. It's not air. Haha!" Lawa said. "but apart from lingering pain I didn't feel a thing!"

"Yes. It's a miracle. There won't be any trauma except the restrictions. After that, there won't be anything except power!"

Lawa sat down and the stone floated toward him. He opened his palm and rested there.

"I feel connected to it," Lawa commented.

"Yes. So, what is the restriction? You should know it by now!"

Lawa thought and said, "It feels confusing but it's more like I should not be taller than anything"

"What?" The old man was confused before he made Lawa stand, and he sat down.

Nothing happened.

"Didn't you get the name of the restrictions? That's how it happened to me!"

"Well…" Lawa thought some more and said, "The Risen Head Should Be Crushed"
