Chapter 125: Self Acclamation

Andria’s POV

"You will see who becomes queen by popular demand," Alexa’s voice rang from behind me.

I didn’t bother to turn because I knew that they were just trying to cause a scene again. How shameless can they be?.

Allison is obviously just trying to either get her brother’s attention or compete with her brother for relevance.

And by joining these other two, she just made herself mediocre.

"All hail the new queen," Allison’s sharp voice cut through the crowd like glass.

That alone was enough to change my resolve.

I stopped in my tracks, turning slowly. Becca stiffened beside me, her hand twitching as if she were itching for a fight. Liara narrowed her eyes.

Tricia leaned lazily against the wall, her arms folded. "You really think one exam score makes you untouchable?"

Alexa smirked. "Or that one fancy speech makes you everyone’s savior?"

I met Allison’s eyes. She didn’t look amused; her cold smirk was laced with venom. "Enjoy the applause while it lasts, Aria. You’re not as high above us as you think."

"Funny," I said evenly, "because from where I’m standing, you look pretty low."

Gasps rippled through the small crowd gathering to watch.

Becca grinned wickedly. "Burn."

Tricia’s face twisted with anger. "Watch your mouth, President. You’re only one slip away from losing everything."

"Oh, please," Liara scoffed. "You’ve been slipping since last semester. Don’t project your failures on Aria."

Alexa stepped forward, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Big words coming from a pampered princess.

You think everyone loves you, but when it comes to prom, popularity decides. And we both know who is already winning hearts."

Becca shot forward, but I grabbed her wrist. "Not here."

Allison tilted her head. "That’s right, President. Control your dogs."

"After all, you are just my brother’s puppet, a wolf whose origin I’m not sure of, can’t be mates with my brother, she can only be his puppet," Allison scoffed, causing everyone to gasp.

I knew that she had been waiting to throw that previous scene where her brother intervened back at me.

Alexa and Tricia chuckled under their breaths.

The words really stung like a bee’s sting, but I wasn’t going to let her gloat about it. How dare she bring up my identity here? Was she trying to stage a scene?

If every student goes to search for my identity, it will be my undoing, my worst nightmare.

A devious grin appeared on her face as she studied my reaction. I was fast to mask my anxiety.

Michaela bristled, her voice rising. "Don’t you dare..."

"Enough!"

The booming voice of Sir Kaelric cut through the chaos. The crowd parted immediately as he strode across it.

A feeling of nostalgia hit me. He was the last voice I expected to hear. Heat rose to my face immediately as the mate bond pulled.

Aven, Tristan and Damon just happened to arrive at the scene.

"To your classes, everyone, Aria and Allison, stay behind," he commanded. The crowd scattered every student to their classes.

"I didn’t expect this from the she-wolves who we consider leaders. You two are expected to uphold order in this school, yet you are the ones creating chaos.

What do you say for yourselves?" He scolded, his gaze never leaving me.

I lowered my gaze but kept my posture steady. "Sir..."

"Silence," he snapped, raising a hand. "Even you, Aria, I expected so much more from you."

Allison rolled her eyes and smirked, obviously satisfied with the way Sir Kaelric had cut me off.

His words cut through me like a knife, and for the first time, I wasn’t looking at him like my mate. He was Sir Kaelric, the duel master.

He turned to face Allison. "You didn’t seem like such a nuisance until you joined your new band of wagons.

They have a significant negative impact on you; you should consider making a change. Your exam results can attest to that."

I chuckled under my breath, careful not to let Sir Kaelric notice it, but enough for her to be upset.

"I’ll be expecting a better attitude from you both henceforth. You heard me, right?" he said, looking intently at both of us.

"Yes, Sir," we chorused, though my tone was tight.

His eyes lingered on me longer than with Allison, as if weighing something. Then, with a sharp flick of his wrist, he dismissed us. "Back to class. Now. Aria stay behind."

Allison went to her class, leaving only me and Sir Kaelric behind.

’What is it this time?’ I muttered under my breath.

"Ari, what’s wrong with you?" he started. I mentally prepared myself for another round of scolding.

"I didn’t want to say much to you, in front of your secretary," he exhaled. "But you should know now that you are the student council president, and the other students look up to you.

If you two continue to air your dirty laundry in public, it will be an eyesore and a poor reflection on your tenure. Be careful that your secretary does not sabotage your efforts.

You did well in the exams, by the way. I am proud of my mate," he said, throwing a light, proud smile my way.

His countenance suddenly changed as he lustfully gritted his jaw, his eyes growing hazy with lust as he sized me up.

The heated expression and the silence between us caused a rush of heat and wetness to my core. ’Not now,’ I mentally screamed at Athena, who was obviously horny. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

How could he turn me on with just an expression? I’m a lost cause when it comes to Sir Kaelric.

But of course, I had to turn away my hooded gaze from him, so that he wouldn’t tell how bad I wanted him.

"Go to your class," he said, breaking the silence and the sensual tension that had lingered for too long between us.

I let out a sigh of relief and headed back to my classroom to join Becca and the others, but of course, I could still feel his heated gaze as I disappeared down the hallway.

By the time I reached the classroom, the atmosphere was already buzzing with excitement.

Luna Lyra was standing in front of the class, he face as calm as always. "Aria, where did you go after the assembly?, You are late to class."

"I was with Sir Kaelric, duty call," I replied.

"Understandable, you can go to your seat," she took a long breath and then continued.

"As the Headmistress announced, we will now divide you into groups for the intergroup sports," Luna Lyra began, her voice smooth but commanding.

"These groups will remain constant through all activities. Cooperation will be essential."

Excited whispers broke out as she unrolled the scroll. I sat straighter, my chest tightening with anticipation.
