Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 95: Mad Instructor
Chapter 95: Mad Instructor
Ethan groaned. "Just don’t get yourself killed."
They watched the construction some more, and then Ethan turned to go. He still had to return to the others to share the news and continue his training.
Severin also stood there to watch before he eventually turned and headed away. He picked his way across the campus to the instructors’ residential areas.
Unlike the students’ area, there were no dorms for the instructors. Each instructor got a house to themselves with compounds, a garden, and a lot of space.
Before he started, he had already gotten the information he needed from the administration about where Instructor Ardent’s place was, and so he just went directly there.
His place was in the back, far from the other instructors’ buildings, and there was even a small forest between them. Severin became cautious as he walked, and he thought about Ethan’s offer and whether he should have reconsidered and come with his team.
His hand did not leave his sword as he walked in the forest.
It was a strange forest; the birds were silent, and insects did not make much noise. The strangest thing was that Severin saw the animals, but they did not make any noise.
Suddenly, he froze and stopped walking.
His perception was being triggered.
Something was wrong with the surroundings.
With his right hand on the sword, his left went to his pocket where the short-distance teleportation cards were, and he touched them lightly, his fingers ready to pump Etherion.
He spread his senses all around him, but no matter how he tried, he could not seem to grasp things that were a few feet from him. The sensation reminded him of the time he entered the domain of the Timeless Immortal.
"But I am sure there is no Immortal or god here. Do not tell me that Ardent is at such a level? No, that is impossible. It must be a formation or something like that, but I am sure of one thing: someone is following me."
Severin had few options that he could play.
He did not know who was following him, and they had already crippled his ability to detect them, and he was caught in something that made it clear he was being hunted.
His only option would be to set a trap of his own. A simple trap.
He walked just as casually as he had been walking, his steps silent in the forest. Suddenly, he activated the full power of the evasion technique and slowed down as if he were fatigued, and then he made his shoulder drop as if he would collapse.
And then he did collapse behind a tree.
He had picked the tree carefully; it was surrounded by a thick bush. Because he could not make any sounds, he silently entered the bush with his sword drawn, going to the far edge of it with his eyes on the tree.
If his guess was correct, the person would come.
Severin was still picking the stones he would use as bullets when he felt a presence behind him.
The hairs on his body rose, and he did not think twice, and his body shot forward from his place. With acceleration on his feet, he used the force and the speed to get far away and whirled.
Someone was standing there, all right, his hand outstretched as if to grab something.
The person was tall and unkempt; he wore brown robes that were torn, and his hair was overgrown. He grinned when he saw Severin’s reaction. "You are like a little rabbit, eh? A rabbit hiding a fox."
They stared at each other.
The man’s eyes were a darker shade of silver.
"You are Instructor Ardent," Severin said, but he left the sentence hanging as if he were asking a question without asking.
The man grinned even more. "Impressive. You do not even know what I look like. The others that come usually know what I look like, but they are still always surprised."
Severin did not say anything.
The man was far above him; the space all over the forest was obviously under his control.
Ardent spoke again as he scratched his head. "And what is that trick you pulled? Which artifact do you use to mask your presence like that? It must be really expensive."
Severin straightened. "It was not any artifact."
Ardent frowned. "Eh? That is impossible. No matter how powerful or mysterious your Talent Ability is, it is still at a low rank. You cannot, should not, be able to hide from my senses. Now tell the truth."
Ardent’s voice was turning dangerous, even though there was a smile on his face.
Severin narrowed his eyes as he understood even more why Ethan was afraid then; the man before him appeared so unstable. He spread his hands. "You can feel when an artifact is in use, right? Then how about now? You cannot feel my presence."
Ardent scratched his head some more, and his eyes narrowed; suddenly, a look of surprise appeared on his face, and he took several steps forward as if he had seen something to play with. "Wow! How did you do something like that? What a useful Talent Ability, but it will not let you kill a man with that."
Severin shrugged. "What about you? I could feel your presence but cannot pinpoint it. How did you do it?"
Ardent raised his brows. "You could feel my presence! That is really impressive. Only a few of the students that come here could say something like that, and you do not look the type at all."
"The type?"
"You do not look strong. No, you are not strong, even though you have a body that has gone through some training; you are a weak piece of shit."
Severin nodded in agreement. "Right."
That surprised Ardent even more. Not many people would accept that they were指标
System: were weak, even though they were. They would not like it to be flung in their face like that. But the guy before him agreed with it as if it were the truth. So he had accepted the fact already?
"You still have not told me how you made your presence so difficult."
Ardent grinned. "I will tell you, but you have to give me something back in return."
Severin thought about it and then nodded. "I will share a drink and some snacks with you."
