Chapter 54: Into the Dark Castle 2 Anti stealth

Keeping a steady gaze on all three Gigantic Knights, Oliver steadied his stance, carefully planning his next movement. There were three of these behemoths, and without a doubt, they would attack at the same time. Their only weaknesses, from what he recalled, were their guts and eye sockets.

Making them more vulnerable than the Void Knight... yet far from weak.

Swisssh!

The sharp sound of blades cutting through air rang out, accompanied by the rattling of chains as the three heinous giants began to spin their massive axe heads in unison, the metallic whir echoing ominously.

"Here it comes!" Oliver called out to the Dark Crow, lunging forward on the offensive just as the grotesque knights swung their chained axes at him all at once.

[Short Burst]

Oliver weaved past the first axe, letting it slam deeply into the ground with a thunderous impact that shook the very air around him.

The Dark Crow dove from midair, its shadowy wings slicing through the air as its talons struck the second axe head, knocking it off course. The weapon veered away, missing Oliver by mere inches as he sidestepped with precise timing.

The last axe, however, was unavoidable.

Oliver raised the twin blades of Racell, bracing himself as he took the full brunt of the attack.

Clang!

The impact reverberated violently through his arms. His hands buckled under the immense force as he skidded backward several meters, boots grinding against the ash-covered ground. Sparks erupted as the chained weapon scraped against his blades.

The towering knight jerked back the chain, retracting the axe head with a violent pull that sent more sparks scattering into the air like dying embers.

The others followed suit, retracting their weapons almost instantly before resuming their relentless spinning.

They weren’t agile... but their attacks carried devastating force.

Oliver gritted his teeth, his muscles trembling as his body screamed for rest, injuries from his battle with the Void Knight still not fully healed.

’The issue with these three is that together, they are nearly unstoppable... I’ll have to change strategy if I want to get through this.’

He summoned the Dark Crow to his side, placing a hand across its shadowy feathers.

[Shadow Travel]

In an instant, Oliver vanished into the Crow, his form dissolving into darkness. The Dark Crow itself melted into a shifting shadow that lunged toward the three gigantic abominations, aiming to close the distance in a single decisive move.

However...

Everything went wrong.

Extremely fast.

SPLOOOSH!

"Gaaarh!" A raw scream tore from Oliver’s lips as one of the merciless monstrosities reacted instantly to the Crow’s shadow movement.

The middle giant stepped forward with shocking speed, its massive frame shifting into a throwing stance. With brutal force, it hurled its crude axe directly at the moving shadow.

The attack tore through the air with terrifying velocity.

And struck.

Normally, physical attacks couldn’t affect the Dark Crow’s shadow.

But this time... was different.

The axe sliced through the shadow—literally.

The distortion rippled violently, as though reality itself had been cut open.

Shock flashed across Oliver Mori’s face, his expression paling as a single word escaped his lips.

"Shit!"

If not for the Crow’s quick thinking, he would have been split clean in half. At the last possible moment, the Crow canceled the shadow travel, forcibly ejecting Oliver from its form while it took the full brunt of the axe’s devastating strike.

Even so, Oliver was not unscathed.

A deep gash tore across his chest, blood spilling instantly, the pain sharp and suffocating.

He groaned, gritting his teeth as he fought to cage the scream rising in his throat.

’They can counter that shadow... that’s a big disadvantage.’

Without hesitation, he charged forward again, ignoring the searing pain as he closed the distance between himself and the three behemoths.

Thanks to the Dark Crow’s sacrifice, he was now within striking range.

But also...

Within the most dangerous zone.

At this distance, one mistake meant death.

The first wretched fiend attacked, swinging its chained axe toward Oliver with crushing force.

Oliver reacted instantly, activating Short Burst and barely evading the strike as it tore through the space he had just occupied.

Before the next attack could follow—

He vanished.

Stealth.

His form disappeared completely, his presence erased as he moved in silence, hoping. Just hoping, they wouldn’t detect him in time.

He was wrong.

The second abomination swung its axe with terrifying precision, cleaving straight toward him despite his invisibility.

It had seen through it.

Or worse... it didn’t need to see him at all.

The attack was unavoidable.

Oliver raised both blades of Racell, bracing for impact.

Clang!

A violent explosion of sparks erupted as steel met steel. The force sent the chained axe recoiling, but not without consequence.

The impact surged through Oliver’s entire body, a crushing weight that threatened to shatter his bones from within.

"Gucckk!" He choked, pain ripping through him as his body reeled from the blow.

And then—

Another attack came.

Another swinging axe.

This time, there was no evasion.

No defense.

His body hadn’t recovered.

’Shit... I am going to die...’

His mind screamed as his body struggled to respond, every muscle lagging behind the incoming death.

Too slow.

Far too slow.

And yet—

At the very last moment...

Something changed.

The Dark Crow burst out from the ground beneath the attacking abomination.

Its upper body—half-severed and launched upward like a spear forged from shadow and desperation.

It struck.

With terrifying force.

The Crow tore through the monster’s armored gut, piercing straight through its body and bursting out from its back, leaving a gaping, gruesome hole. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

The behemoth faltered.

Its attack veered off course.

And then—

It collapsed.

Oliver staggered backward, narrowly escaping the full brunt of the redirected swing. Even so, the axe grazed him, carving a deep line across his cheek.

He stumbled several steps before regaining his footing, his breathing ragged and uneven.

But his eyes never left the remaining giants.

They continued spinning their chained weapons... utterly indifferent to the death of their comrade.

Oliver groaned, tightening his grip on his daggers despite the pain flooding his entire body.

His gaze shifted briefly to the Dark Crow.

The half-severed creature lay there, unmoving—its form flickering faintly, struggling to recover.

It was in just as much pain as he was.

And yet...

It still fought.

A faint, grim smirk tugged at Oliver’s lips.

’It’s nice to see some of my finesse is finally rubbing off on you, bastard.’

He raised a hand to his bloodied cheek, wiping away the flowing blood with the back of his hand.

Then he spoke, his voice low but resolute.

"Let’s end this quickly, shall we? I have seven thousand Karma points waiting for me when I return."
