Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 259: Hospitalization
Moira Young didn’t know whether it was because she was in a bad mood or something else, but she remained silent all the way, only gently saying thank you to Heath Sterling at the hotel entrance.
Heath opened his mouth to comfort her, but in the end, he only managed to say: "Have a good rest."
Moira nodded and entered the hotel, looking completely drained and lacking the vitality she had earlier.
When she returned to the hotel room, Joe hadn’t come back yet. She exhaled deeply, preparing to enter the bathroom to wash up.
Unexpectedly, her stomach started to feel uncomfortable. She initially thought it would get better if she endured for a while, but after more than ten minutes, it not only didn’t improve, but her stomach began to cramp painfully.
At first, she thought it was simply a stomach upset, but she soon broke out in a cold sweat from the pain.
This pain was definitely not just a simple stomachache. She couldn’t think much and hurriedly called her assistant Joe.
To her dismay, all she heard was a mechanical female voice: "Sorry, the number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable, please try again later..."
Unwilling to give up, she dialed two or three more times, but the result was the same.
As her face turned pale with pain, she forced her weak body to go out and buy some medicine.
Just as she reached the door, it opened from the outside, and she looked up slightly to see Julian Sinclair’s cold face.
"Uncle..." In her weakness, people instinctively lean on those closest to them, and Moira Young was no exception.
At the sight of Julian Sinclair, she couldn’t hold on any longer, and she collapsed, tottering.
"Moira!"
Julian Sinclair was originally full of anger, planning to give her a piece of his mind, but upon opening the door, he only saw Moira’s face, as pale as paper.
He couldn’t care about anything else and immediately picked her up horizontally, rushing out quickly.
The steward, seeing something was wrong, hurriedly opened the car door for the two of them.
After getting in the car, Julian Sinclair coldly instructed, "To the nearest hospital."
"Yes."
Luckily, they were in the city center, and the nearest hospital was only a few minutes away.
As soon as they arrived, Julian rushed Moira into the emergency room, startling the on-duty doctor with his urgency.
The doctor quickly ran a check-up on Moira Young.
Fearing that Moira might have a serious illness and Julian would hold him accountable, the doctor was relieved to find it was just acute gastroenteritis.
He breathed a sigh of relief and whispered, "This young lady just has a stomach upset causing acute gastroenteritis. A drip should suffice."
"How long until the pain stops?" Watching Moira’s face twist in pain, Julian’s own face grew darker, his eyes flashing with deep concern.
"Ten minutes." The doctor initially wanted to say half an hour, but seeing Julian’s grim face, he swallowed his words.
Luckily, after a little more than ten minutes of saline infusion, Moira’s complexion improved slightly, and Julian’s darkened face finally showed some change.
Acute gastroenteritis is a very minor illness, yet only Julian would get this anxious.
Ordinarily, Moira could go home within an hour after the infusion, but Julian disagreed.
He looked sinisterly at the doctor, his chilling voice putting them in a cold sweat: "Admit her, she needs the best room."
The doctor helplessly wiped the sweat from his forehead, kindly explaining: "Mr. Sinclair, Ms. Young’s condition isn’t severe. Just watching her diet is enough, hospitalization isn’t necessary."
"I said admit her, didn’t you understand?" Julian furrowed his brow, impatience showing on his handsome face. He was always impatient with anyone other than Moira.
"Alright." The doctor gave in, watching the steward arrange for Moira’s hospitalization.
Thus, Moira, who didn’t really have any serious illness, inexplicably ended up in a high-end VIP nursing room in the hospital, the kind with two caregivers.
Moira blinked at Julian, originally wanting to return to the hotel, but after being fussed over all night, she was simply exhausted and resigned to staying in the ward obediently.
She lay on the soft hospital bed, watching Julian sitting silently on the sofa, opened her mouth, and called: "Uncle."
Julian seemed not to hear, showing no reaction.
Unwilling to give up, she raised her voice slightly and called him by his name: "Julian Sinclair."
"So disrespectful." Julian raised his eyes, grunting unhappily.
"I’m thirsty." Moira didn’t care much; now she was the patient, meaning she could get away with more, and she figured Julian wouldn’t dare do much to her.
Indeed, after seeing her cold demeanor over the past few days, Julian couldn’t harden his heart against her when she acted spoilt.
His gaze lingered on her still pale face for a moment before standing up personally to pour her some water.
After pouring a cup of hot water, he brought it to the bedside and was about to feed it to Moira when he seemed to remember something, took a sip to check the temperature, and then handed it to her.
Moira opened her little mouth at the spot he drank from and gulped down the water.
Seeing her obediently drink the water, Julian casually placed the cup on the bedside table, the cold eyes carrying a gentle light: "Sleep well."
Moira met his cold gaze, wanting to say: stay with me.
But the image of him embracing Fiona Rhodes suddenly flashed in her mind, and the smile that hadn’t fully formed froze at the corners of her mouth.
Not waiting for Julian to say anything more, she burrowed into the covers and pretended to sleep.
Julian knew she was upset, but he was too, so he didn’t bother with her and returned to sit on the sofa.
Initially, Moira thought Julian would coax her, but after waiting a long time without a sound, she closed her eyes in disappointment, unexpectedly falling asleep for the entire night.
The next day.
Gentle sunlight streamed through the window, and Moira slowly woke up.
The first thing she did upon waking was to reach for the other side of the large bed, the coldness instantly waking her fully, realizing Julian hadn’t stayed with her.
She bit her lower lip tightly, the feeling of loss instantly overwhelming her.
In the past, whenever she suffered an injury or illness, he would be frantic with worry, but this time he wasn’t. Could it be he really doesn’t like her anymore?
Just as she began to let her imagination run wild, a familiar voice sounded in her ears.
"Awake?"
Moira looked up to see Julian’s caring eyes. Before she could speak, Julian continued: "How are you feeling today? Better?"
"Hmm." Moira wasn’t sure what to say, hesitating for a long time before uttering just that one word.
Seeing that she really did look better, Julian reached out to touch her soft cheek, nodding in satisfaction: "Looks like you’re much better." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Moira didn’t acknowledge it; in truth, she hadn’t been in pain for a while, just lacking energy.
"Come wash your face and brush your teeth, then have breakfast." Julian took a few steps, then turned back to look at Moira.
He seemed to remember something and stepped back, scooping Moira up into the bathroom, personally helping her brush her teeth and wash her face.
