Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Meeting

The shop assistant looked at her with some embarrassment: "I’m really sorry, we’re just a small business, so we mainly accept cash. However, you can also pay via WeChat."

Moira Young pouted slightly; she didn’t have WeChat pay either.

Seeing Moira’s aggrieved expression, the shop assistant couldn’t help feeling sorry for her and smiled helplessly: "Anyway, it’s just a few bucks worth of stuff. Consider it my treat, no need to pay."

"How can I accept that? It’s not easy for you to run a business; I can’t just eat for free." Moira quickly waved her hand, feeling embarrassed to accept even if it was offered.

"It’s just a few skewers of duck intestines, nothing much. Please eat without worry." He couldn’t bring himself to make such a beautiful girl like Moira feel awkward.

Moira wanted to say something more, but the shop assistant waved his hand and said, "Miss, don’t be so polite with me. Just come and visit us more often next time."

Hearing this, Moira could only accept: "Then I’ll come back another day."

"You’re always welcome." The aunt playfully winked, her smile as bright as sunlight.

And so, Moira walked down the snack street, getting thirty skewers of grilled duck intestines for free.

Unfortunately, those thirty skewers weren’t filling enough, and no matter how small her appetite, she couldn’t feel satisfied. But when she left the duck intestines shop earlier, the assistant told her that businesses on this street operate on a small scale and almost never accept cards.

To fill her stomach, it seemed she could only go to a restaurant.

Just as she was thinking this, a familiar voice reached her ears.

"Boss, how much is your stinky tofu?"

She turned around and saw Heath Sterling in casual attire, buying stinky tofu at the stall.

Heath Sterling? What was he doing here?

For a moment, Moira thought she was seeing things until she heard him shout to the vendor, "Add more spice for me, please!"

Only then did she confirm it was indeed him.

Feeling a bit surprised, Moira stepped towards Heath and deliberately gave a heavy pat on his shoulder.

Heath was startled, turning around to see Moira’s smiling face, and was stunned for two seconds before incredulously speaking: "Moira?"

"What? Haven’t seen me in so long that you don’t recognize me?" Seeing Heath here lifted Moira’s spirits, and the annoyance and frustration she’d felt in recent days faded considerably.

"Weren’t you supposed to be filming? How come you’re here?"

"Long story," Moira touched her nose, "I’ll tell you later. But I’m curious, what are you doing here?"

"Ahem, it’s my dad. He’s been wanting me to take over his company’s matters lately. I might not be able to continue working in the entertainment company, Moira. Look, he even bought me an apartment near the company recently to make it easier for me to commute," Heath pointed to a nearby building, clearly annoyed, "I think I’m losing this fight; my old man is really adamant. I won’t be able to accompany you anymore..."

"Alright, I’m not a kid anymore; I don’t need anyone to accompany me," Moira said with slight disappointment and daze from Heath’s previous words. She didn’t expect him to be taking over family matters too, but seeing his frustrated expression relaxed her somewhat: "Let’s go eat, I’m starving."

"Sure, want some stinky tofu?" Heath gestured to the ugly black tofu and asked Moira.

Moira reflexively shook her head: "You have it, I won’t."

Heath didn’t insist, bought a portion of stinky tofu, and motioned for Moira to follow him.

Moira, having nothing better to do, walked side by side with him.

"Since you don’t want stinky tofu, what do you feel like eating? Tell me, my treat." Heath said with a grandiose air, looking quite arrogant.

Anyone who didn’t know might think he’d suddenly come into some fortune, with the way he swaggered.

Moira wanted to decline, but her stomach protested once more, so she had no choice but to nod: "Okay, thank you then."

"Since when have you been so formal with me?" Heath snorted twice in dissatisfaction and led Moira forward.

They wandered around the snack street, trying various specialty snacks.

Finally, Heath wanted to take Moira for some crayfish, but Moira was too full.

"Moira, your fighting capacity is really weak. We haven’t gone far, and you’re already done?" Heath shot her a disdainful glance, as though he hadn’t expected her to eat so little.

"Say what you want, but I really can’t eat anymore." Moira let out a heavy breath, already feeling stuffed to the brim.

Heath shrugged: "Want to walk around the night market to digest?"

Moira wanted to refuse, but her stomach was too uncomfortable, so she ultimately agreed.

A good-looking guy and girl pair attract attention in the bustling night market.

Moira didn’t have much she wanted to buy, but Heath seemed very interested, looking around until finally stopping at a claw machine.

He pointed to the claw machine and made a bold claim to Moira: "Do you believe it, I can get one on the first try."

"I don’t believe it," Moira clearly didn’t trust him, having played claw machines herself without a single catch.

It turned out, her disbelief didn’t mean others couldn’t do it.

Watching Heath get a small bunny plush with just one token, Moira looked at him with admiration.

"Here, Moira, for you." Heath handed the bunny to her, eyes twinkling.

Moira hesitated for two seconds before slowly speaking: "Thank you then."

"Since you want to thank me, shouldn’t you treat me back for today’s meal tomorrow?" Heath suddenly leaned in, teasing her.

Unexpectedly, Moira nodded naturally: "Sure."

Her straightforwardness left Heath unsure of what to say, so he could only pout: "Forget it, we’ll talk about the meals later. It’s getting late; I’ll drive you back to the hotel."

"No need, it’s not far, I’ll manage myself."

"It’s late, it’s not safe," Heath’s tone left no room for refusal.

Just as Moira felt cornered by Heath’s insistence and was about to get into his car, a kind voice called from behind: "Miss."

She caught sight of the car behind Butler Liu, frowning slightly: "Butler Liu, is there something?"

"Young Master is waiting for you."

Upon seeing the Sinclair family car, Moira guessed Julian Sinclair was inside.

She gave Butler Liu an apologetic smile: "It’s late, the crew starts early tomorrow, I need to head back to the hotel."

Heath remained standing, his eyes flickering with hesitation, but ultimately said nothing.

Moira, looking as if in a huff, directly climbed into Heath’s car, urging softly: "Quick, take me back."

Heath gave her a deep look before stepping on the gas and speeding off.

Butler Liu frowned watching this unfold.

The young lady was dancing on the edge; if she truly angered the Young Master, Heath could be in trouble.

"Young Master, the young lady..."

"To the hotel." Julian Sinclair had witnessed the scene, his gaze as cold as winter ice, void of emotion.

Butler Liu didn’t dare say a word and only followed the orders.

Moira sat in Heath’s car without speaking. Heath glanced at her but remained silent.
