Chapter 249: Chapter 249: Joining the Crew

Lee rubbed his hands together: "Um, Moira, don’t mind Vivi. She’s a senior, and sometimes her words can be harsh, but she’s not a bad person. Try to rest well; the filming schedule can’t be delayed."

"I know."

Moira Young curled up on the sofa, her eyes red from crying, and combined with low blood sugar, she felt a bit weak and exhausted.

After Lee left, Joe ran to a nearby convenience store and bought a box of sushi along with some milk, placing it in front of Moira Young.

Thinking she couldn’t hold up the progress for the crew, even without an appetite, Moira forced herself to eat two pieces of sushi. But seeing the bottle of milk made her heart feel as if it were pricked by a needle.

"Throw the milk away, keep the rest for the road. I’ll eat it later."

"Huh, just throw it away? What a waste..." Joe, still a young girl fresh out of school, instinctively wanted to prevent wasting food.

"Then you keep it and drink it. Also, could you get me a bottle of water?"

"Oh, okay." Joe agreed hastily.

Rumors outside said Moira Young rose to fame too quickly and had a bit of a princess attitude. However, she didn’t seem that unapproachable now; at least, she was easy to talk to.

After sitting on the lobby sofa for a while, Lee gathered the company people preparing to join the crew, and Joe rushed in with a bottle of mineral water, boarding the shuttle bus together.

At the film set, most of the crew had arrived. After taking a group photo, the director announced that filming would officially start tomorrow, allowing a brief rest today.

Joe lugged Moira Young’s suitcase, holding food and drinks, with a bag slung over her shoulder, looking quite burdened for her small frame.

Moira Young stood beside her, reaching out to take her own suitcase: "It’s okay, I got this. Just hold onto the other stuff."

"Ah, no, no, Moira, this is part of my job."

"Don’t be so nervous. You’re probably a bit older than me, just call me by my name." Moira Young blinked, her grip on the suitcase firm.

Unable to outmatch her, Joe let go: "Moira, in this industry, we go by experience, not age. You’ll get used to me calling you that. Let me know if you can’t carry the suitcase, and I’ll help you."

Perhaps being in a new environment lifted Moira Young’s mood, and she smiled at Joe: "Okay."

This smile made Joe a bit dazed: "Moira, you’re really pretty."

"Pfft," Moira Young burst into laughter: "Alright, alright, let’s hurry back to the hotel. I’m starving."

Joe readily agreed, and the two headed towards the hotel.

However, after just a few steps, Moira Young stopped in her tracks.

Sean Dunn, who had been chatting nearby with the crew, glanced at Moira Young, his eyes brightening: "Hey, Moira, heading back to the hotel?"

Sean Dunn was quite handsome, usually giving off a clean and fresh vibe. Moira Young had a good impression of him.

As he spoke to her, she naturally nodded in response: "Yes, I was just about to tidy up and go over the script again."

"I’m heading back too, let’s go together." Sean Dunn seamlessly took Moira Young’s suitcase. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Hey, no need! It’s not heavy to pull." Moira Young instinctively responded.

"When walking with a man, no reason for the lady to carry things."

This made Moira hesitate, her mind involuntarily flashing back to the cold side profile of a man from the morning, causing a sharp pain in her heart.

"Moira, let’s go," Joe urged when she saw Moira spaced out.

Looking up, she saw Sean Dunn patiently waiting for her beside her.

Moira felt a bit embarrassed and quickly picked up her pace.

It was Joe’s first time being a star’s assistant, and Sean Dunn was her idol. At that moment, seeing him in person, she had been so nervous she hadn’t dared to speak.

Seeing her idol seeming gentle, she ventured to say a few words.

Unexpectedly, her idol answered patiently, almost answer-for-answer.

Joe was thrilled and soon turned into a chattering little sparrow.

Even at the hotel room door, she was still reluctant to stop.

Sean Dunn handed the suitcase to Moira Young, smiling courteously and warmly: "I’ll head back now. Call me if you need anything."

Moira Young nodded: "Thank you, and sorry for the trouble today."

Watching Sean Dunn turn to leave, she opened the door with her key card and entered the room.

She moved so fast that she didn’t see Sean Dunn turn back with a deep, playful look when he heard the door lock.

Inside the room, Joe helped Moira Young organize her luggage. As she did so, she couldn’t help but speak up: "Moira, Sean Dunn really is a good guy, no airs at all. My admiration for him wasn’t in vain!"

"Yes, he’s indeed a rarity." The entertainment industry is a big melting pot; most popular stars have quirky tempers or can be overbearing. It’s rare to find someone so easy-going.

Joe finished packing up for Moira Young and returned to her own room.

Moira Young took a shower and lay on the large bed, feeling the exhaustion of the day gradually setting in.

Just as she closed her eyes, a thought arose in her mind: See, being busy is good too. She could finally get a good night’s sleep.

...

The next morning, Joe woke her up bright and early, since it was the first day of shooting, and as a newcomer, Moira Young couldn’t afford to be late.

"Moira, we’ll head to the makeup room first, then the director will brief you on today’s scenes." Joe was also dead tired, but since it was her job, she was still quite enthusiastic.

With a somewhat groggy nod, Moira responded, "Okay."

Joe brought along a lot of items that might be needed today and went with Moira to get ready in the makeup room.

Since it was so early, the hotel hadn’t started serving breakfast yet, so the crew specially bought breakfast. Sitting in front of the makeup mirror, Moira eyed the steaming breakfast and couldn’t help swallowing.

"Moira, have some food. You’ve seen the morning scenes, right? They’re quite exhausting." Sean Dunn entered the room at some point and sat next to Moira Young.

Moira Young wasn’t sure if she could eat while getting made up and felt a bit uneasy, a situation Sean Dunn sensed.

"It’s okay, you don’t need to be so cautious while having makeup done. Relax, it’s fine to eat." Sean Dunn smiled, bringing the breakfast over and handing it to Moira Young, "You should get used to this."

Moira gave him a grateful look, "Thank you."

"You’re welcome." Sean Dunn suddenly remembered something, "Oh right, the second female lead of this drama was added last minute yesterday. She’s also from your company."

Moira Young, who had just taken a sip of soy milk, looked up in surprise, "From our company?"

"Yes, I think her name is...Vivi?" Sean Dunn thought for a while.

Moira Young was momentarily stunned, but not too surprised. After all, Heath was also squeezed into the team...

"You have a scene with the second lead this morning. Since you’re from the same company, the progress should be a bit faster."
