Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 223: Don’t
Moira Young nodded with satisfaction, the letters she wanted engraved were her initials, and she wanted Julian Sinclair to carry her with him at all times.
Just thinking about it made her feel so happy.
Moira returned to the car with a smile on her face. The driver wanted to ask what had made her so happy but, being just a driver, he chose to remain silent and drive quietly.
"You’re not allowed to tell Julian Sinclair that I went into that store." Moira playfully put on a bossy air, which made her seem a bit adorable.
"Yes, Miss, I understand," the driver nodded. Although he didn’t know why Moira wanted to keep it a secret, as long as Julian didn’t ask, he naturally wouldn’t say a word, but if Julian did ask, then...
"If Julian asks, you must say I went straight home after leaving the hospital," Moira instructed.
The driver, having his thoughts seen through by Moira, awkwardly replied, "Yes, Miss, I understand."
Moira still felt a bit uneasy, but there was nothing more she could do, so she hoped Julian would be too busy with work to ask about such trivial matters.
When the car arrived at Julian Sinclair’s doorstep, it was suddenly blocked by a car covered in shiny sequins.
Through the window, Moira saw the car and instantly guessed it belonged to Fiona Rhodes.
Fiona got out of her car, walked to Moira’s side, and opened the door with a proud tone, "Get out."
Moira’s eyes gradually filled with hostility, "What do you want?"
"Get out and I’ll tell you what I want," Fiona reached out to pull Moira out of the car.
Moira’s knees gave way again, and as she was pulled out, she stumbled and fell to the ground.
"You must have used this frail appearance to seduce Julian into being head over heels for you, right?" Fiona sneered, folding her arms and leaning slightly against the car.
Moira frowned as she picked herself up from the ground, "What exactly do you want?"
"I’m here to tell you, I used to think you were too young to be a threat, but now, you’re my enemy, my rival," Fiona eyed her up and down, "Julian and I grew up together, in terms of advantages, you’re far below me."
"He doesn’t love you," Moira said with cold eyes; she hated hearing such words.
"Ha! So he doesn’t love me, and you think he loves you? At least he’s told me he loves me. Has he ever said that to you?" Fiona pressed aggressively.
Moira was at a loss for words, Julian indeed hadn’t said those words to her, but she believed Julian did not love Fiona.
"If he loved you, he wouldn’t have run away from your wedding," Moira’s tone was childlike, feeling a bit intimidated by Fiona, who was much older.
"So what if he ran? The Sinclair and The Rhodes are bound to unite through marriage, even if the last wedding was called off for some reason, it doesn’t mean there won’t be another," to Fiona, dealing with a barely adult girl was simply insulting her intelligence, but she couldn’t afford to underestimate Moira, who was dear to Julian.
Moira felt she couldn’t win the argument, "I don’t want to talk to you anymore, I’m going inside."
Just as Moira was about to turn around and head inside, she noticed something familiar around Fiona’s neck.
She stopped and looked back; Fiona was wearing the necklace that Julian had given her!
How could this be!
Why was her necklace around Fiona’s neck?
Moira looked at Fiona in disbelief, "What is that you’re wearing around your neck?"
Fiona said smugly, "The necklace Julian gave me, what? Jealous?"
"That’s clearly my property!" Moira’s tone was filled with hostility.
"How is it yours? How can you prove it’s yours?" No matter what, Fiona was much more cunning than Moira, who was naturally naive and couldn’t outwit Fiona.
"It has my initials on it," Moira couldn’t understand how someone could forcefully claim someone else’s belonging.
"You mean ’ME’? When Julian gave it to me, he said he hoped I would wear it, how does that make it your initials?" Fiona pinched the ’ME’ on the necklace, clicking her tongue twice, "I always thought you were an innocent little girl, but I didn’t expect you to lie."
Tears of grievance almost welled up in Moira’s eyes, "Fine, you say he gave it to you; then tell me, when did he give it to you?"
Fiona hesitated for a moment and realized this was a trap.
If she said it was given before the wedding, then if the necklace was with Moira at that time, she’d be caught.
"He gave it to me right after he woke up from the car accident, as a form of compensation," Fiona replied.
Moira furrowed her brows, "This necklace was originally mine, something I threw back to him because I didn’t want it."
She sniffled, her eyes turning cold, "Since I don’t want it anymore, if you like it, you can keep it."
With that, she turned and walked into the gate, leaving Fiona stunned in place, did she just get played by a nineteen-year-old girl?
Fiona’s frustration rose; she was about to rush inside but was forcibly stopped.
"Private residence, no entry without permission," the security guard block her.
"Are you new here? I’m Julian Sinclair’s fiancee!" Fiona’s anger flared, she pointed to her face, "Take a good look, it won’t end well for you if you offend me!"
"Private residence, no entry without permission," the guard was like a wound-up robot, unaffected by what Fiona said, and only repeated the same words.
"Let me in!" Fiona took out her wallet, then pulled out a check and tossed it at the guard’s face, "Two hundred thousand dollars!"
"Even two million wouldn’t work," the guard still wouldn’t let her in.
Fiona was breathing hard, truly angered, she found another check for three hundred thousand, "Two million wasn’t enough, I’ll give you three hundred thousand!"
"You, a mere security guard, won’t earn this much in your lifetime, right? If you let me in, all this money is yours, you can quit and start your own business," this was the first time Fiona spoke so much to a small figure like this, her only objective was to get in as soon as possible.
"Private residence, no entry without permission," the security guard didn’t even look at her.
"Are you out of your mind? You don’t even want three hundred thousand?" Fiona couldn’t understand, was this guy’s brain broken?
Having said so much, Fiona really had no options left, she was unwilling but helpless, and could only return to her car.
She angrily removed the necklace from her neck and tossed it fiercely into the grass outside her car window. She initially thought she could use the necklace for some leverage, but now things had turned out this way!
Fiona glared at the gate one last time, but had no choice but to leave.
