Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 193: Camera Time
Sean was like lightning, quick in everything he did. Moira Young thought it would take some time to start a fire on the spot, but Sean quickly got it done with a few pieces of firewood.
"Let’s wave the flashlights upwards." Moira hoped Sean and her two bright lights, along with a pile of flames, would alert Butler Liu.
The plan worked. Soon, a helicopter flew overhead near Sean’s house and found a clearing big enough to land.
"Moira! It’s really a helicopter!" Sean exclaimed in astonishment. This was his first time seeing a helicopter; he had previously only seen airplanes flying overhead, never helicopters.
Moira let out a deep breath and stood quietly, waiting for the people in the helicopter to disembark.
Butler Liu was so busy that he probably called a doctor; he wouldn’t come personally.
Sure enough, two doctors in white coats soon disembarked from the helicopter, carrying a stretcher and not Butler Liu.
"We’re here to pick up a patient. Where’s the patient?" A doctor asked Moira.
Moira and Sean quickly led the doctors into the house, where Sean’s grandmother was lifted onto the stretcher.
Sean’s grandmother was already losing consciousness; she wasn’t aware of her surroundings or the people around her.
Since Moira was still participating in the show, she couldn’t go back to Aleridia with them. She asked Sean, "Sean, do you want to go to the hospital with your grandma?"
"I can’t leave grandma..." Sean looked at his grandma being loaded into the helicopter, his eyes red, his emotions complex. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Then go with her, don’t worry; someone will take care of you and grandma. Wait for me at the hospital; I’ll come visit you the day after tomorrow." Moira helped Sean onto the helicopter.
"Moira, what about you?" Sean shouted, as the helicopter was simply too loud.
"I’m leaving tomorrow night; I’ll lock the door at home!" Moira reassured him.
Sean wasn’t concerned about locking the door. In the mountains, there were no thieves, and his home had no valuables. He just felt uneasy leaving Moira alone after she had helped him and his grandma.
Moira waved her hand, signaling the helicopter could take off.
The loud noise woke many residents in the area, who came out to watch, as it was their first time seeing a helicopter.
To avoid attracting attention, Moira quietly left and locked the door to Sean’s house, spending the night alone.
In a new place, Moira couldn’t sleep well the entire night.
When she woke up the next morning, it was still dark. She went to the kitchen to find some food but found almost nothing, just a few pitiful-looking vegetables.
Moira sighed softly, realizing the stew from last night was probably specially made to welcome her. Sean’s gaze yesterday suggested they didn’t often eat meat.
Moira hadn’t brought any food with her, so she left hungry, carrying the books and pens she had brought, to meet the other eight girls at their place.
The girls were still fumbled through their makeup.
Moira stood at the door as several cameramen were ready. Not able to film the girls inside, they first filmed Moira.
Several girls doing their makeup saw this and turned green with envy. Moira now had the most fans, especially since yesterday when she carried the grandmother home, her popularity had soared as if she’d bought followers.
The more screen time she got, the more it became a hurdle the other girls couldn’t overcome.
"I’m done!" Elena was the first to rush out and stood next to Moira. Her exquisite makeup made her stand out. Elena was smart; she wore plain casual sportswear, but even this type of clothing perfectly showcased her natural advantages.
She had a dancer’s aura cultivated from years of practice.
Moira and Elena had different auras; Moira gave off a feeling of being unattainable, like a distant star that can only be admired from afar, while Elena’s aura was more immediately perceivable to people.
On camera, Moira seemed invisible.
Later, the other girls finished getting ready and came out, appearing closer than sisters, though each carefully dressed up without being too flashy.
"Moira, why didn’t you wear makeup?" Crystal suddenly asked, surprised.
All the girls wore makeup, except for her. To outsiders, it might seem like she was trying to stand out deliberately.
"I didn’t bring makeup." Moira explained.
"Oh... So what’s in your bag?" Crystal pointed to the bag Moira was holding.
Moira smiled politely, "Nothing much, just some small gifts for the kids."
Moira’s words reminded the others, and they rushed back to grab gifts. The director noted time was getting tight, but the girls were still dawdling, nearly delaying the start.
"Hurry up! Gather and let’s go! Quick, quick!" The director urged again and again.
The girls rushed here initially and only brought necessities, not gifts!
The girls ended up with lipstick and compact mirrors.
Once everyone gathered, they finally set off, with the director leading in front. To ensure the girls’ safety, aside from the cameramen, several crew members followed behind, encircling the group of nine girls.
After walking about four kilometers, some girls started to falter.
"Director... I really can’t go on... Hungry, thirsty, and tired, can we rest a bit..." a girl pleaded.
"Yeah, director... I’m so hungry I feel sick..." another chimed in.
Seeing this, the director signaled for everyone to rest for a bit. Moira was also very hungry. She sat on a big rock, clutching her stomach, struggling with the acidity and constantly feeling nauseous.
"The show crew brought some biscuits and bread, we’ll share it, eat quickly, and keep going; only one kilometer left." The director personally fetched food and distributed it to each girl.
"Water is heavy, so we brought little. Please understand the cameramen’s burden; they carry heavy cameras and are the most tired. For water, we’ll split two bottles among the nine girls, leaving the rest for the cameramen," the director suggested.
The girls agreed despite their reluctance.
Nine girls, sharing two bottles of water, took turns drinking, without letting the bottles touch their mouths.
Moira was the last; when the water bottle reached her, it was nearly empty. She helplessly stared at the empty bottle.
Luckily, she originally couldn’t accept sharing drinks with others, so she wasn’t too bothered by the empty bottle.
Moira opened the biscuit; it was a mini pack of Oreos with just a few pitiful pieces. Just as she tore it open to eat, someone accidentally knocked into her, and the biscuits fell to the ground, covered in dirt.
