Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 192: Wound
Moira Young hadn’t even finished speaking.
"Understood, Miss. I’ll send a helicopter to pick you and the patient up immediately. Please give me your exact location," Butler Liu said, knowing Moira well. Protected exceptionally by Julian Sinclair, Moira remained pure and kind-hearted, without any scheming nature. Therefore, Butler Liu understood her intentions just by hearing.
Moira looked at Sean excitedly, finally smiling a bit: "Okay, I’ll send it to you right away!"
After hanging up the phone, Moira immediately asked Sean, "Sean, quickly tell me our exact address here so I can send it to him to come and pick up Grandma."
Sean, filled with excitement, told Moira the name of the mountain.
Moira paused for a moment, "Is there no more specific address than just the mountain’s name?"
Sean shook his head: "No more..."
Moira thought about it. If there was no other way, she would have Butler Liu’s helicopter fly nearby. Once it got close, she could make the helicopter see her.
Immediately after, Moira sent the mountain’s name that Sean provided to Butler Liu. Shortly thereafter, Butler Liu replied, estimating an arrival within an hour.
It was now ten o’clock at night, which meant they would arrive at eleven, and back to Aleridia’s First Hospital by twelve. Moira went over the timeline in her mind, relieved that everything was still on time.
"Sean, when I left earlier, I asked you to take care of Grandma. How is she?"
"Grandma is in so much pain she’s almost fainting. The painkillers the doctor gave her aren’t working." Sean was heartbroken. He and his grandma depended on each other, as his parents worked out of town, only returning once every year or two, at best. So, Grandma meant everything to him.
Moira patted his head reassuringly: "Let’s hurry back to be with Grandma and share this good news with her, shall we?"
Sean nodded, "Okay!"
Then Sean ran down the mountainside as quickly as he could. Moira’s knees couldn’t support her descent anymore. Watching Sean run farther away, she couldn’t keep up and decided not to run.
Moira shouted: "Sean, I’ll wait here for the call. You go back and be with Grandma—"
"Okay—" Sean responded.
Then, Moira turned on her flashlight, sat down halfway up the small mountain to rest, and shone the flashlight on her knee, realizing it was scraped and bleeding...
The bleeding alone wasn’t a big deal, but what made Moira’s body shiver momentarily was that the muddy dirt had stuck to the wound because of the blood.
Moira’s eyes reddened. Faced with the wound on her leg, she didn’t know what to do. She suddenly felt very sad, afraid to touch the mud on the wound but unable to let the dirt mix with blood on the wound.
With no other option, Moira slowly moved to the staff quarters to find a doctor. But knowing the state of her wound, each step felt like torment.
Who knows how long she walked, or if she had taken a wrong turn, but Moira finally found the place when she thought she would never find it.
By this time, many of the staff had gone to rest, with only a few discussing the next day’s shooting plans.
Moira controlled her tears, trying not to appear as if she had been crying.
She walked into the yard and asked, "Excuse me, has the doctor gone to rest?"
The staff didn’t know Moira’s background but had noticed the director giving her special treatment over the past few days, so they naturally treated her with a bit more respect.
"He just finished washing up and went inside. Are you looking for him because of the old lady again?" one of the staff members asked.
Moira shook her head, "No, it’s not that. I accidentally fell and wanted to trouble the doctor for some help..."
A staff member glanced at Moira’s knee and arm, "How did you fall like this? Come sit over here, and I’ll go get him."
Moira gratefully looked at him, "Thank you."
Within seconds, the doctor walked out with a medicine box, probably from both fatigue and sleepiness, his tone wasn’t pleasant, "You again? What happened now?"
Moira suddenly didn’t feel like doing it after hearing his tone.
"She fell, and the wound seems pretty serious. Please treat it," the staff member said.
Perhaps realizing his poor attitude, the doctor paused for a second then opened the medicine box and squatted down to treat Moira’s wound.
"Ah!" Moira didn’t expect it to hurt so much! She hadn’t meant to cry out!
"It’s very dirty. It must be cleaned thoroughly or it’ll get infected. Bear with it," the doctor seriously treated the wound.
Moira pursed her lips, holding back tears, which streamed down her cheeks, the pain intense.
The process of treating the wound felt like pure torment, seconds passing like minutes, and Moira felt that if this continued any longer, she might not want it treated at all.
"All done." The doctor sighed in relief, "However, the conditions here are limited, and the lighting isn’t sufficient. I can’t be sure if there are any small stones left in the wound, but for now, this is the best we can do."
Both of Moira’s knees were treated, looking much better than when coated with dirt.
"The cut on your arm isn’t serious, just apply some iodine," the doctor handed her two cotton balls, "Apply it yourself. Afterward, don’t throw them away. Give them to me; they’re medical waste that needs special disposal."
With that, the doctor began packing the medical kit, leaving Moira to gently clean the wound on her arm.
The doctor, seeing Moira being so cautious, couldn’t take it and took over with tweezers himself.
Applying iodine didn’t hurt, but the doctor’s handling did cause Moira pain, though it was finished quickly.
"Alright, avoid water on these for the next few days, and rest well."
"Thank you, Doctor." Moira thanked him.
At this point, almost all the staff had entered their rooms to rest, and the doctor yawned and went to sleep.
Moira, her body exhausted, dragged herself back toward Sean’s house.
As she was about to reach Sean’s house, she suddenly heard a faint rumbling sound. Moira looked up and around the sky, spotting a small dot in the air ahead with a flashing light.
Moira excitedly waved her hand; Butler Liu had arrived!
However, after waving a few times, Moira realized it was so dark they couldn’t see her. What a silly mistake!
Moira shouted towards Sean’s house, "Sean! Sean—!"
Sean hurried out, "Sister!"
"Quick! The helicopter is here! Start a fire nearby to make sure they see us!" Moira instructed excitedly, and together with Sean, they pointed their flashlights upwards.
