Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 190: Condition
Because Moira Young was followed by a photographer when she returned, she wasn’t too afraid to walk the dark path at night.
Soon she arrived at Sean’s grandmother’s house, and the door was open, left deliberately by Sean for Moira Young.
Upon entering, Sean and his grandmother were talking at the dining table, and they immediately invited Moira Young for dinner when they saw her.
"Moira, come eat food!" Sean got up from his seat and walked over to hold Moira’s hand.
Moira Young sat down with a smile and asked, "Grandma, what did the doctor say?"
"Thank you, child. The doctor said it’s nothing serious, just need some rest." Sean’s grandmother smiled kindly.
Sean’s expression seemed off, "Grandma..."
His grandmother glared at him, "Hurry and eat your meal!"
Moira Young thought this was just how family members interacted and didn’t speculate further, finding it rather interesting instead.
Sean suddenly pouted, almost about to cry, but the grandma placed a piece of meat on his plate, "Eat meat."
Seeing the meat made Sean even more inclined to cry, but he held it in.
Moira Young was puzzled about why Sean was about to cry and comforted him, "Sean, didn’t the doctor say grandma will be fine after some rest? Why aren’t you happy?"
"Sis, grandma lied!" Sean looked at Moira with reddened eyes.
Sean’s grandmother’s face suddenly turned somewhat pale, "Sean, what nonsense are you speaking?"
"Child, eat quickly. Our mountainous area is different from your big cities. I tried to make some dishes, so please have a taste." Grandma forced a smile, gesturing for Moira Young to eat.
Moira Young smiled lightly and responded, though she didn’t have much appetite, considering the effort put into the meal, she picked up her chopsticks, took a bite, and placed it in her mouth.
"Hmm, delicious." Moira Young hadn’t expected the taste to be genuinely good. It had been a long time since she had something so down-to-earth.
As she continued eating, she sensed a faint taste similar to Mrs. Miller’s cooking, but the familiarity was brief.
Sean wiped away his tears and started eating, but he only picked the unknown vegetable beside him, which was some green vegetable.
There were altogether three dishes on the table, two vegetables and one meat.
Moira Young picked a piece of meat for Sean, "Why isn’t Sean eating meat? Eating meat helps you grow taller."
Sean secretly glanced at his grandma, who signaled that he could eat, so he did.
Moira Young felt slightly awkward seeing this, perhaps meat was more expensive here, and she felt embarrassed to keep eating the meat.
Upon noticing Moira Young wasn’t eating meat, Sean’s grandma immediately said, "Child, eat meat, eat meat."
Moira Young looked at Sean’s fixed gaze, picked a piece for Sean’s bowl, one for his grandmother’s bowl, and lastly one for her own.
"You’re still young, you should eat." Sean’s grandmother smiled, transferring the meat Moira had given her to Sean’s bowl again.
Moira Young was truly tired and didn’t want to think or say much, deciding to continue eating as it was.
After dinner, Sean carried the bowls to wash them, Moira Young secretly followed him.
"Why were you crying earlier, Sean?" Moira Young voluntarily helped Sean wash the dishes.
Sean pouted, "Grandma lied."
"What did grandma lie about?"
"Her ankle injury is actually very serious. I heard everything today while beside her. The doctor said her condition is very serious, very serious. She was just pretending earlier..." Sean’s eyes were red again.
"Very serious? Did the doctor say what the current situation is?" Moira Young hadn’t expected Sean’s grandmother, who had acted like nothing was wrong earlier, was just pretending.
"The doctor just said the sooner the treatment, the better. If it’s delayed, her leg won’t be able to walk in the future... I didn’t quite catch the details..."
Moira Young recalled the situation when she first met Sean’s grandmother, but she didn’t quite understand these matters either. Seeing Sean so upset softened her heart, "Sean, don’t be sad. I’ll go ask the doctor about the actual situation."
Sean nodded understandingly.
After speaking, Moira Young left the house, preparing to find the accompanying doctor at the staff’s residence.
Sean wanted to follow her, but Moira Young asked him to stay and take care of his grandmother. She took a flashlight and headed out alone.
Since she had gone and returned once before, she had some impression of the way.
After stepping out, Moira Young followed the route she remembered, holding a flashlight in one hand and a cellphone in the other, fearing any unexpected situations.
Fortunately, the night wasn’t too dark, as many households kept a small light on, giving Moira Young some psychological comfort, and she soon found the staff’s dwelling.
Coincidentally, the remaining eight girls had just left, and the staff were cleaning up the leftovers on the table.
The director saw Moira Young and presumed she hadn’t eaten enough, "Didn’t eat enough? There are bread and biscuits in the room, should I get you some?"
Moira Young declined his kind offer, "Director, I want to find the doctor."
"What happened? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I want to inquire about Sean’s grandmother’s situation."
The director pointed to a room, "He’s over there. He has a cleanliness obsession, doesn’t eat with us."
Moira Young went inside, walked to the doctor, "Doctor, I want to ask how serious Sean’s grandmother’s ankle injury is?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The doctor put down the bowl and chopsticks in his hand, looking serious, "It’s very serious."
Moira Young furrowed her brows, "How serious is very serious?"
"I estimate that if it’s not treated surgically before midnight, her leg will be useless."
Moira Young had some mental preparation but didn’t expect it to be this severe!
"Then why not treat it immediately?"
The doctor seemed helpless, "The surgery needs to be done in a sterile environment, meaning it has to be in a hospital. The surgery isn’t cheap, and the main issue is it’s impossible to leave the mountainous area tonight."
"So you’re saying if she can be in the hospital before midnight, Sean’s grandmother’s leg can be saved?" Moira Young instinctively tightened her grip on her phone.
The doctor nodded, "Perhaps."
"But don’t count on it, it’s impossible. Medical helicopters won’t come to mountainous areas in the middle of the night because it’s too dangerous. So now it’s not a matter of money." The doctor advised her to give up the idea of saving Sean’s grandmother, "People in the mountains, once they fall ill, mostly rely on self-recovery or just live with the illness. They’re accustomed to it."
Moira Young didn’t want to hear the doctor’s discouraging words, "Thank you, doctor, I’ll be leaving now."
With that, Moira Young turned around and left, her mind entirely focused on how to get Sean’s grandmother out.
Because her thoughts were concentrated on this, on her way back, Moira Young inadvertently tripped over a stone and fell heavily!
