Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Recognition

"Miss Moira, you... how did you end up locked in here?" Butler Liu’s voice was a bit shaky.

"I happened to come here yesterday, and I thought the person standing in this room was you, so I came back today to confirm. I didn’t expect to be discovered." Moira Young’s foot hurt a lot, and she found a chair to sit down on.

"Miss Moira... you... sigh..." Butler Liu hesitated to speak. He didn’t expect the first person to find him would be Moira Young. He stood by the window, waiting every day for Julian Sinclair to come rescue him, but no one ever came.

"Butler Liu, why are you locked in here? Who put you here?" Moira Young was very curious about the matter.

"It was Zayne Sinclair." Butler Liu started recalling the events from a month ago.

Moira Young sat quietly listening beside him.

"A month ago, on the night you ended up in the police station after a fight, I wanted to go in and find you, but I was stopped at the door. Zayne Sinclair seemed to have everything figured out. He guessed you would go to the police station and that I would go look for you."

Butler Liu sighed slightly, "Then he locked me in a car and took my phone."

"Later on, I think I saw the young master come. I desperately tried to escape, but they knocked me out."

"When I woke up, I was locked in here, with five people guarding me every day. They deliver meals daily."

Moira Young suddenly thought of how that night, during a heavy rain, she embarrassedly yelled at Julian Sinclair. At that time, she hated him so much.

"Butler Liu, didn’t he come to look for you at all?" Moira Young laughed bitterly inside. She nearly forgot that someone like Julian Sinclair couldn’t possibly have feelings.

Everyone thought Butler Liu was indispensable to Julian Sinclair, his close aide, his right-hand man. But the fact was, if one day Julian Sinclair no longer needed him, he’d be nothing.

Just like Moira Young herself, who once thought she was the closest to Julian Sinclair. It’s utterly laughable.

"I guess the young master must be tied up with something, or... he doesn’t know I’ve been kidnapped." Butler Liu looked out the window with indifference.

Moira Young gave a cold laugh, "Butler Liu, stop lying to yourself. It’s been a month; if he wanted to come, he would have by now."

"No way, miss, you misunderstood the young master." Butler Liu said with assurance, "I watched the young master grow up, I understand."

Moira Young didn’t say much more, "Then let’s wait. I’ll bet he’s not coming."

"He will."

Moira Young stopped speaking. Her heel was too painful, and when she took off her shoe, she found it was bleeding.

She tossed the shoe aside, letting her foot rest a bit.

The sky gradually darkened, and Moira Young slowly began to feel a bit of cold.

She looked over at Butler Liu, who was still standing in front of the glass, staring outside, unmoving.

"Butler Liu, why do you always stand there?" Moira Young asked curiously.

"So the young master can see me." Butler Liu turned around, his voice suddenly lowering, "Miss, it’s almost dinner time. The person who brings the food is a young girl; she puts it down and leaves every time she opens the door."

Moira Young paused, her eyes darting as she immediately understood, "Are you saying you want me to pretend to be that girl and leave?"

"Yes, miss, I’ve been observing for a month. Every time they eat their dinner on the first floor, sometimes they even have drinks. I can hear them talking. They never pay attention when the meal delivery girl leaves." Butler Liu became animated, hope flashing in his eyes, "Miss, we’ll hold that girl here later, and you swap into her clothes and escape."

"Butler Liu, what about you? If they find out I’m gone, what will you do?" Moira Young was worried about him.

"Don’t worry, miss, they never come to the second floor at night. I just ask you to help find the young master after you get out." Butler Liu looked at Moira Young expectantly. He had been locked up for so long that he felt increasingly anxious every day.

Moira Young’s face stiffened a bit; she really didn’t want to look for Julian Sinclair.

"I’ve already called the police before I came. Once I’m out, I will tell the police about everything, as for Julian Sinclair..."

"Miss, it’s best to keep this low-key. If the police find me, they’ll discover Zayne Sinclair is the mastermind. And being Julian Sinclair’s cousin, such news spreading won’t be good for the Sinclair family." Butler Liu explained earnestly.

Moira Young considered for a moment and finally nodded.

Suddenly, there was the sound of a key turning in the door lock.

Moira Young held her breath, and Butler Liu immediately moved behind the door, waiting for the moment.

When the girl delivering food opened the door and saw Moira Young, she was taken aback, her hands pausing. Just then, Butler Liu swiftly pulled the girl inside, covering her mouth.

"Girl, he won’t hurt you, don’t be afraid." Moira Young nervously comforted her.

Butler Liu signaled Moira Young with his eyes to quickly take off the girl’s coat. Moira Young’s hands trembled; she had never done such a thing before and was feeling quite frightened.

Soon, Moira Young had put on the girl’s coat, then took the bag with the meal, and walked out the door.

She followed the stairs down. In the living room, five men were gathered around a table eating. Just as Butler Liu had guessed, their table was filled with alcohol.

"Hey, don’t you guys think this job’s really easy? Every day they send us meals, and we can drink!"

"Yeah, I wonder who the big boss behind this is. Probably someone with more money than they can spend, otherwise how could they pay people like us such high wages."

The men started to discuss one after the other.

Moira Young’s heart was pounding in her throat; she carefully descended the stairs, aiming for the front door, ready to go out.

"Wait a minute!" Suddenly, someone called her to stop!

Moira Young’s body trembled, and tears instantly flowed uncontrollably.

"Hey beauty, why didn’t you bring me the cucumber salad I asked for yesterday?" The person’s tone wasn’t very friendly.

Moira Young didn’t dare to speak. If she opened her mouth, there was a 90% chance they’d recognize her voice.

As time ticked by, Moira Young remained frozen in place, cold sweat seeping out.

"Say something, what’s the matter with you?" That person pushed their chair back, preparing to walk over.

Moira Young clutched her collar tightly, ready to sprint out as fast as she could!

"Hey, hey, hey! Come back! Isn’t that the cucumber salad right there? You must have drunk too much and didn’t notice!" Just in the nick of time, someone voicing like a savior called out to stop that person.

That person turned, looking at the cucumber salad on the table, scratched his head, and muttered, "Could it be I really drank too much?"

The entire table burst into laughter, the atmosphere quickly returning to normal.

Moira Young seized this opportunity and immediately walked out.
