Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 156: Taking It Out
Inside Glen Guthrie’s bar.
Heath Sterling entered the bar with a baseball bat in hand, his gaze full of menace, ignoring anyone who tried to stop him.
The group of people who had been crowding Heath with questions were stunned, looking at each other in confusion. How had he suddenly turned so vicious?
"Champion, what act are you putting on?" One particularly drunk guy stepped forward to block Heath.
Heath shot him a cold glance, "Move!"
The man immediately became angry. Who was Heath, just a young punk, to shout at him!
"Let me tell you something! I’m a shareholder in this bar. If you piss me off today, don’t think you’ll be walking out of here!"
Heath smirked disdainfully. He had never cared about small-time shareholders. The Sterling family was one of the most prestigious in this city; he had never feared anyone.
"I’ll say it one last time, get out of my way." Heath didn’t bother to engage him.
The man glanced at the baseball bat in Heath’s hand, realizing, "You’re here to cause trouble on purpose, aren’t you?"
A few spectators further away, seeing the unfolding scene, joined in. Were they really scared of one young guy?
At this moment, Glen finally revealed himself.
"Heath, what are you doing?" Glen’s attitude had shifted 180 degrees from earlier that day. He wondered if Moira Young had told him about what happened.
Several security guards surrounded Heath from behind. The odds were against him, but Heath didn’t care.
He flashed a charming smile and stared at Glen, "I’m here to get something from you."
Glen’s heart skipped a beat; his first thought was the "video." "Renowned racing champion, what could you possibly want from me?"
"Oh, there’s something." Heath tilted his head, squinting his eyes as he tightened his grip on the bat.
"I’m here to break your damn leg!" The murderous intent in Heath’s eyes flared like a blaze. He had made up his mind: he would either break an arm or a leg of Glen’s!
With a fierce expression, Heath raised the bat and charged directly at Glen!
The place erupted into chaos!
Even with security guards blocking him, Heath—skilled in fighting—still managed to break through and brutally aimed for Glen’s arm!
Right at that moment, someone from the chaotic crowd kicked Heath hard in the knee!
Just shy of hitting Glen’s arm, Heath’s knees buckled, and he collapsed to the ground!
His legs already had lingering issues, and with such a sudden, harsh kick, they went numb.
"Heath, I’m warning you, this is my territory! Open your eyes and take a good look; everyone from the entrance to here is with me. If you want to leave this place unscathed, you best not test my patience!" Glen needed to ascertain whether Heath knew about the video.
Despite the pain that made him break out in a sweat, Heath forced himself back up. There weren’t many who could anger him, but Glen had crossed that line.
"I treated you as a friend, kindly bringing you here to hang out, yet you kept insisting you’d break my leg!"
Heath scoffed, "Did you bully Moira Young just now?"
A jolt ran through Glen’s mind. Heath hadn’t mentioned the video; was he here just to avenge Moira’s tears?
With a quick turn of thought, Glen responded, "She’s a newcomer at the company. How could I bully her? She cried because it hurt when applying medicine."
"You think I’m three years old?" Heath didn’t buy Glen’s nonsense at all!
Glen relaxed, at least now he was sure Heath didn’t know about the video.
"Listen, you’re also a new recruit in the company, technically my junior, so you should respect me. I shouldn’t fuss with you. Hurry and leave now." Glen motioned dismissively for Heath to get lost.
With that, Glen raised an eyebrow, ready to turn and leave, as long as his secrets remained undeclared.
But Heath had made up his mind: he wasn’t leaving without breaking Glen’s limbs!
Seizing the chance while everyone laughed at him and Glen wasn’t paying attention, Heath stepped forward, retaliating and striking Glen hard on the leg.
Glen grimaced in pain, toppling to the floor!
The crowd surged again upon seeing this, but Heath glared at them and raised his bat, yelling, "Let’s see who dares step forward!"
The crowd honestly wasn’t afraid of Heath. In this big venue, with so many people surrounding him, Heath should be the scared one.
So, when someone finally charged forward, even though Heath kicked that person down, there were too many of them, and he was ultimately subdued.
The crowd ruthlessly beat Heath, leaving him with no chance to fight back!
A relentless wave of pain washed over him! Heath shielded his head tightly, knowing this would happen, but he was determined to get justice for Moira!
"Touch my brother, will you? Have a death wish?"
Just as Heath was barely conscious from the beating, Carter Porter’s voice sliced through like a divine rescue, a beacon of light on Heath.
Carter had figured Heath couldn’t handle the crowd solo.
Carter dashed in to protect Heath, who was too weak to speak, with eyes blazing in fury: "If anyone dares to move, try me!"
The crowd saw another kid rushing in, surely coming for a beating too, mocking him without restraint.
Heath, bloodied hands, looked at Carter and whispered, "Get out now..."
"Don’t worry, no matter what, I’m taking you out today." Carter promised with conviction.
Glen, propped up, was in severe pain from his injured leg, "If I let you two walk out today, I won’t... won’t be surnamed Guthrie!"
"Well, sorry to say, from the next moment, you’re going to change your last name to Sterling!" Carter taunted.
Glen wasn’t cut out for the underworld. He didn’t want the situation to escalate. But now, not knowing the severity of his leg injury, he wanted to vent his anger, "Get them!"
As soon as Glen issued the order, his group of security guards charged forward.
But unexpectedly...
"Ah—!" From the rear of the crowd, screams sounded shrilly, one after another, incessantly.
Everyone, including Glen and Heath, turned to the back of the crowd, only to see another group rushing in from the entrance!
Glen was shocked; none of these newcomers were familiar—Heath’s people!
Heath’s eyes were swollen shut, but Carter could still see the thoughts in his eyes; they exchanged smiles, a seamless understanding.
