Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Glen Guthrie

Heath Sterling knew even though Moira Young hadn’t seen Julian Sinclair or mentioned him in the past month, he’s still on her mind.

Waiting to be rejected by Moira Young, he might as well strike first, "Not signing—"

"I’ll sign." Moira Young suddenly said, her gaze resolute as she looked at Heath Sterling, "Heath, I want to sign."

Moira Young felt a newfound certainty within her. She might have been hesitant, but because thoughts of Julian Sinclair flashed through her mind, this contract had to be signed.

She had been avoiding reality for the past month, but since she stepped on stage last night, facing all kinds of cameras for the first time with ease, she felt she shouldn’t avoid it anymore.

To truly not care about someone might mean showing up calmly in front of them.

Moira Young looked at the contract on the table in front of her and picked up the pen without hesitation. She wanted to truly step out of the shadows of her past.

Heath Sterling looked at her in surprise, unconsciously swallowing hard, then followed suit and signed.

Lee was thrilled to see this, almost ready to hug them both. "I’ll treat you to dinner tonight. I’ll invite a few of the company’s top artists. You should get to know each other, you’ll be seeing each other around quite a lot."

Heath Sterling secretly rolled his eyes and muttered, "Who cares."

Coincidentally, another artist arrived — tall and wearing sunglasses but still very attractive.

"Glen, don’t wear sunglasses when you’re in the company." Lee urged him to sit down.

Glen Guthrie’s attitude was the complete opposite of Vivi’s earlier. He was very friendly, proactively greeting Heath Sterling and seemed to have an outgoing personality.

When he greeted Moira Young courteously, Moira’s impression of him improved.

"Is this Moira Young who suddenly shot to fame last night? I’m quite envious." Glen took off his sunglasses, his eyes smiling, quite attractive.

"Moira and Heath, you might not know Vivi well, but you should be familiar with this guy, right?" Lee asked proudly, Glen was someone he groomed personally.

Moira Young had seen him in commercials and many dramas. She smiled, nodded politely.

"When it comes to popular young actors these days, if Glen is ranked second, no one would dare claim first." Lee glanced at Glen, "I’ll treat you to dinner tonight for the newcomers’ welcome."

"I wouldn’t miss such an event." Glen’s voice was pleasant, but compared to Heath’s, it carried a certain impurity, which Moira couldn’t pinpoint.

"It’s already five o’clock, let’s head out now." Lee checked his watch and signaled.

"Glen, you know the usual spot, you three go first. I’ll call a few more people and join you later." Lee instructed loudly, "Order whatever you like, no need to save money for me!"

Glen took Heath Sterling and Moira Young to a restaurant, almost like their home base.

The place was secluded, whenever Lee’s people visited, they had to enter from the back door and follow the boss lady to private rooms.

Heath Sterling looked at the place disdainfully; the worst dining place he’d eaten at was a campus store, but seeing this place today made him realize that the campus store was practically heaven.

Moira Young was also a bit surprised to be dining in such a place.

In the private room, the boss lady gave them a menu to choose dishes. Heath, quite hungry, didn’t care much and ordered a lot.

Conversely, Moira Young didn’t order anything, "You’ve ordered quite a lot, I won’t order anything for now."

Glen did not force Moira Young to order, he simply returned the menu to the boss lady.

"This girl is new, isn’t she? When did she arrive?" The boss lady asked while taking orders, sizing Moira Young up and down.

"Didn’t you watch the talent show last night?" Glen deliberately teased her, "Getting old, huh, no common topics with us young folks!"

The boss lady glared at him, "You little brat, I won’t give you chopsticks later!"

Glen, who cared a lot about his image, immediately caved, "Alright, alright, my bad!"

After a while, when most dishes were served, Lee hadn’t arrived.

Heath Sterling was already starving, but with the host absent, the meal hadn’t officially started.

"Moira and Heath, go ahead and eat, don’t wait for him, you’ll be waiting till the cows come home if he doesn’t show up." Glen picked up chopsticks and started eating, signaling Heath Sterling and Moira Young to eat too.

Moira Young shot him a questioning look.

"As you can see, this restaurant’s environment is extraordinarily poor, so... hmm... no one would willingly come even if he searched all night." Glen shrugged self-deprecatingly, "Only someone as easygoing as me would come."

Heath Sterling didn’t seem to like Glen much, having barely spoken since entering the restaurant.

Moira Young was the kind who wasn’t very good at initiating conversation, making the situation awkward at times.

"You seem a few years younger than me, have you graduated?" Glen kept trying to keep the conversation going.

"Just started college." Moira Young replied, still having a fairly good impression of Glen.

Glen nodded thoughtfully, murmuring, "How nice."

At that moment, Glen’s phone rang; it was a call from Lee saying he couldn’t make it due to some sudden engagement and instructed Glen to take Heath and Moira back to the company later.

After hanging up, the three of them left the restaurant and got into the car; Heath Sterling gradually felt something was off after driving a while.

"Hey man, this route seems off?" Heath Sterling suddenly spoke up.

Glen glanced at Heath through the rearview mirror and replied, "It’s only seven o’clock. I thought going back so early would be boring, why don’t we hit a bar? It’s mine, you can enjoy yourselves."

Since they were already in Glen’s car, they decided to drop the issue. Bars were naturally Heath Sterling’s hangouts, the Sterling family owned many, so why not?

Moira Young sat quietly beside, expressionless; she didn’t want to go but didn’t know how to say it.

About ten minutes later, Glen’s car stopped at a bar entrance; as nightlife hadn’t started yet, it was almost deserted.

Glen arranged seats for Heath and Moira, then said he had something to attend to and wouldn’t be accompanying them for now.

Leaving only Heath and Moira together.

Heath felt a bit happier once Glen left, grumbling, "I can’t stand him; seems like a bad guy at first sight."

Moira Young chuckled, "How do you know he’s not a good person?"

"Intuition! A man’s intuition!" Heath said earnestly, thumping his chest, "I bet his current demeanor is all an act."

"Believe me; he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing!" Heath leaned closer, whispering, "Stay away from him, don’t be fooled by his facade. The most reliable man is me — Heath!"
