Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Viewing Apartments

During the journey back to the country, Moira Young didn’t say a single word to Julian Sinclair from start to finish.

Once home, Moira Young ran straight to her room and locked the door from inside.

Seeing this, Mrs. Miller realized she was definitely angry. She couldn’t help but glance at Julian Sinclair, who had a dark, displeased expression, impatience etched between his brows. Mrs. Miller originally wanted to ask the reason, but seeing his state, she really didn’t dare to ask.

"Young master, would you like something to eat?" Mrs. Miller asked cautiously.

"Prepare something for her." Julian Sinclair spoke only after a long silence, then turned around and headed back to his room.

Mrs. Miller acknowledged and went to prepare some food for Moira Young. When she knocked on the door, there was no response from inside.

"Miss, have something to eat." Mrs. Miller called out.

Moira Young still didn’t respond.

Mrs. Miller thought she might have left without saying a word again, which scared her into hurriedly opening the door, only to find it locked.

"I’m asleep." Moira Young’s voice came from inside the room.

Mrs. Miller breathed a sigh of relief, reluctantly walked to Julian Sinclair’s door, "Young master, would you like something to eat?"

"No." Julian Sinclair’s weary voice was somewhat hoarse.

Mrs. Miller paused for a moment, then quietly walked away.

The next morning.

Due to jet lag, Moira Young only slept for four hours before it was time for school. She groggily got up, took a scarf and tied it around her neck so as to cover the marks left by Julian Sinclair on her body.

She walked into the dressing room, picked out a few thick clothes and bags, along with some jewelry. After leaving the Sinclair family, she planned to sell these items and buy a house near school, so she wouldn’t have to argue with Thea Thorne at the dorms every day or see Julian Sinclair.

While Julian Sinclair was still asleep, Moira Young quietly passed behind Mrs. Miller, who was cooking, and finally got out the door, only to unexpectedly run into Mr. Liu outside.

"Miss, you are—" Mr. Liu curiously asked upon seeing her carrying large bags.

"I don’t like these things anymore, so I’m planning to sell them." Moira Young forced herself to remain calm.

"But isn’t that bag one that the young master bought you just three months ago?" Mr. Liu recognized one of them, and in his understanding, Moira Young wasn’t someone fickle, especially not with new bags.

"Not liking it means not liking it anymore." Moira Young couldn’t be bothered to put on an act any longer and directly walked past Mr. Liu.

"Miss, please get in the car. The young master instructed me to take you." Mr. Liu opened the car door for Moira Young, "The young master went to the office early this morning, so he couldn’t take you personally."

Just as Moira Young was about to refuse the ride, she realized she had quite a lot of heavy things, so she simply got into the car.

"Miss, the young master instructed me to give you this phone." Mr. Liu handed over a new phone, which already had a SIM card inserted with only Julian Sinclair’s number saved.

Moira Young took it and immediately blocked Julian Sinclair’s number.

Upon arriving at school, Moira Young realized there was no place to store all her things, so she temporarily placed them in her dorm before heading to class.

After class, she returned to the dorm to prepare to take the items to a second-hand luxury store to sell. But as soon as she entered, she found Paige Quinn trying on those bags in front of the mirror.

Thea Thorne was rolling her eyes repeatedly at her.

"You... you’re back..." Paige Quinn was a bit embarrassed upon seeing Moira Young and quickly put the bags and accessories back in their place.

"Just having a look..." Thea Thorne coughed a few times to ease the awkwardness.

Thea Thorne snorted disdainfully, sarcastically, "Going back to the Sinclair family makes you so great? A child without parents is uncultured, sleeping around without shame."

Moira Young sighed faintly, already knowing that encountering Thea Thorne would turn out like this.

She calmly packed up her belongings and handed a bracelet to Paige Quinn. She noticed how reluctant Paige Quinn was when taking it off last, she must really like it.

After all, being roommates, once she bought a house and really moved out, it wouldn’t be easy to meet again.

"Paige Quinn, it’s a gift for you, hope you like it." Moira Young smiled at her. Though Paige Quinn got along well with Thea Thorne and was quite materialistic, she at least hadn’t really harmed her.

Paige Quinn glanced at Thea Thorne, hesitating to accept it.

Seeing this, Moira Young proactively placed it in her hand, "Don’t disdain it."

Paige Quinn held it, her eyes practically sparkling with joy.

"A second-hand piece of junk, only you would fancy it." Thea Thorne rolled her eyes at Paige Quinn, scornfully.

Paige Quinn’s face instantly dropped, returning the bracelet to Moira Young, "Thanks for the thought, but I don’t want it."

Moira Young looked helplessly at Thea Thorne, wondering why her words had to be so biting?

Forget it, Moira Young didn’t want to waste any more words with them, picked up her things, and left.

She was already looking forward to the scene of buying a house and having her own little place. She wondered if the money she had was enough; she’d sell first and see.

At the second-hand luxury store, where they also recycle well-preserved luxury goods, Moira Young laid out her items. The store clerk cast a suspicious glance at her and discreetly called someone else to bring out the boss.

The boss came out, looked at the items, "Young lady, where did these come from?"

"They were gifts." Moira Young answered truthfully.

The boss carefully inspected the items again, pondering for a long while before offering a price, "Altogether 1.2 million."

Moira Young was taken aback. Although she didn’t know the exact price of these items, she had some understanding of the price range. She had mentally discounted these items by 70%, estimating they should start at least 3 million...

"Isn’t that too low..." Moira Young was reluctant.

"Take it or leave it; if you want to sell, I’ll buy. If not, go somewhere else." The boss seemed indifferent.

Moira Young wasn’t familiar with the second-hand market, and being simple-minded, she thought the market price was like that due to the boss’s indifferent attitude. So, after hesitating for a long while, she reluctantly agreed.

After the deal was done, Moira Young received the money, still feeling lucky that these bags weren’t limited editions, or she’d be heartbroken.

But... can 1.2 million buy a house...

Wait! She still had the 600,000 given by Adrian Grant in her bank account!

Now with a total of 1.8 million, Moira Young felt slightly more confident. She remembered a newly built complex near the school and decided to visit the sales office there.

The sales staff saw Moira Young looking like a university student and arriving alone; no one bothered to entertain her.

She observed the entire real estate’s planning model and various layouts, discovering for the first time about duplex apartment-style houses, suddenly finding them very appealing.

"Hello, just looking around?" A sales staff approached, having already categorized Moira Young as a young client without purchasing power.

"How much is this one?" Moira Young pointed at the largest unit in front of the model, 120 square meters, thinking it wouldn’t feel cramped.

"This unit is one of our larger ones, approximately 2.4 million." The sales staff responded perfunctorily, glancing at her indifferently.

Moira Young knew that suburban housing prices were cheaper but didn’t expect that the money she had still wasn’t enough to purchase.

"Then... how about this one?" Moira Young hesitated, somewhat unwillingly pointing at a relatively smaller 88-square-meter unit.

"About 1.7 million, with a common area of thirty."

Moira Young inquired, "What is the common area?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

The sales staff, seeing that she didn’t even know what a common area was, assumed she wouldn’t be buying a house and was just browsing, responded with some impatience, "It’s the public area evenly distributed to each homeowner."

"So this layout only has 58 square meters?" Moira Young was a bit shocked, 58 square meters... would that be enough space to move around...
