Chapter 120: Chapter 120: The Scene

Julian Sinclair hurried to the Sinclair Group castle; he was already late.

He just checked his phone on the way; Fiona Rhodes had called him countless times. Although it was just an engagement ceremony, it involved the inheritance of power in the Sinclair Group, so many prestigious guests had been invited.

So there was no room for mistakes at this event, Julian understood this. However, he couldn’t help the situation that occurred in the morning.

When he arrived at the scene, everyone had already taken their seats, waiting for him.

"Julian, why are you late?" One elder from the Sinclair family asked impatiently, not forgetting to give him a knowing look, "Was there something delaying you on the way?"

Because not only people from the Sinclair family were present, naturally, the Sinclairs had to stand up for their own.

"Yes, sorry." Julian bowed slightly to everyone to signal his apology, "Thank you all for waiting."

"It’s good that you’re here; Fiona has been waiting for you for a long time, let’s start right away." Fiona’s father was naturally biased towards Julian, eager to start the ceremony. Once everyone knew that the Rhodes family’s daughter was engaged to the Sinclair Group’s heir, the Rhodes family would surely bask in glory.

Fiona Rhodes sighed in relief upon seeing Julian arrive; although she was confident he wouldn’t be absent, she was still frantic during his delay.

"Julian, why was your phone off?" Fiona walked up to him and quietly asked.

"Battery died." Julian wrapped his arm around her waist, pretending to be affectionate.

Fiona’s perfume was quite strong; Julian hadn’t minded before, but compared to Moira Young’s natural scent, he found himself disliking the smell of perfume.

The two of them popped champagne and announced the wedding date, set for next May, when spring blossoms.

The ceremony soon ended, Fiona was summoned by the Rhodes family for socializing, while all Julian wanted to do now was to go home.

"Mr. Miller, prepare the car." Julian said lightly.

The butler, Mr. Miller, looked around; the ceremony had just concluded, and everyone was waiting to chat with Julian, as he was soon to become the head of the Sinclair Group.

"Young master, leaving now might not be wise."

Julian had no interest in socializing, his mind full of thoughts about Moira Young. He glanced at Mr. Miller without saying a word.

Mr. Miller knew that once Julian made a decision, no one could change it, so he had no choice but to prepare the car. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

As soon as Julian got into the car, he heard Fiona’s voice.

"Julian—" Fiona ran over, lifting her gown, "Where are you going?"

"Back to the country."

"We’re engaged now, what are you going back to the country for? Stay." Fiona grabbed his hand with a hopeful face, "I can officially move in with you."

"Later." Julian boarded the car, expressionless.

"But if you leave like this now, how am I supposed to explain it later?" Fiona was displeased. She had never heard of an engaged man treating his fiancée like this right after their engagement.

"Just say I have something to do." Julian didn’t want to say more, signaling the driver to go.

Fiona stood aside, watching Julian leave heartlessly, eyes narrowing as she clenched her fists.

She would never let go of what was already in her grasp.

——

The Sinclair family.

Moira Young groggily awoke and sat up, exhausted; Julian wasn’t there.

She scratched her head in a daze, stunned.

Last night... what happened...

Moira’s cheeks flushed at the thought.

She dragged her aching body to soak in a bath, feeling even hungrier afterward. Wearing her nightdress, she went downstairs to the dining room for food, surprised to find that lunch had already been prepared by the maids.

She was quite happy; waking up to a meal ready.

The two maids nearby covered their mouths, giggling privately. Moira’s reaction was slow now; it took her a while to realize they were laughing at her, but she didn’t ask why.

After eating, she lazily wandered to the hall to sit down, only to be startled by the mirror on the wall...

There were several hickeys on her neck, very obvious...

Moira’s ears gradually flushed; no wonder the maids were giggling earlier...

She pursed her lips, covering her neck, blaming Julian!

Wait—

Where did Julian go?

"Why did you come down dressed so lightly." Julian’s voice suddenly appeared. He walked over and draped a cardigan over Moira.

"Where did you go just now?" Moira asked.

Julian didn’t answer, "Pack up, we’re going back to the country."

Moira immediately sensed something was off with Julian. She furrowed her brows, pressing him, "Where exactly did you go just now?"

"Did you go to the engagement ceremony?" Moira’s eyes reddened, looking at him incredulously, "You... you yesterday..."

"Didn’t you choose me yesterday... why did you still go to get engaged?"

Moira choked, her small hands nervously gripping her clothes. Last night, he seemed to have chosen her... wasn’t it true...

"Moira, engagement is a necessary step but will be canceled soon." Julian didn’t know how to explain.

"Don’t tell me these things!" Moira’s emotions frayed; all she remembered was Julian asking her to be his last night, choosing her clearly...

But now he still went to get engaged with Fiona!

"I will never believe you again! Never!" Moira cried, running outside, ignoring Julian’s calls.

"Stop her!" Julian growled, knowing that Moira leaving would be dangerous!

Everyone panicked, but no one dared touch her. Moira stumbled and ran, but was eventually yanked back by Julian.

"Calm down!" Julian’s brow furrowed, hidden anger in his voice. She could be mad at him all she wanted, but going outside would give Arthur Whitman and Zayne Sinclair an opportunity!

So long as he hadn’t fully taken control of the Sinclair Group, Zayne could use Moira to coerce him into relinquishing his inheritance rights.

The most important thing was Moira was already his woman; he would never allow Zayne to touch her in the slightest!

"How can I calm down! You’re using my feelings to manipulate me!" Moira shouted tearfully.

Surrounded by maids and bodyguards, Julian helplessly carried her back to the bedroom.

"Change your clothes; we’re returning to the country." Julian stated coldly, trying to force her to change.

"Don’t touch me! I find it disgusting!" Moira yelled, slapping away his big hand. She suddenly remembered a few days ago when Fiona and Julian were alone in the bedroom, certainly doing similar things, which sickened her.

Julian’s eyes sharply focused on her but he said nothing.

"Since you’ve already gotten engaged, what are you going back to the country for? Stay here and enjoy your world with your fiancée! Don’t do the things between you and her on me again; I find it disgusting!"

"Julian, do you understand? I’m disgusted!"

Moira was close to breaking down, unsure if she was even speaking coherently, her body retreating until she accidentally fell, crashing heavily onto the floor.

Seeing her so out of control, Julian’s heart felt as though it had been hit hard, momentarily losing his breath.

The plane was ready, waiting for them to board.

Without saying a word, Julian tossed a small blanket over her, carrying her onto the plane.

Moira didn’t resist; all she wanted now was to return to the country quickly and stay away from this dangerous person; she hadn’t heard a single truth from him.
