Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 106: Jealousy
Moira Young’s tears instantly welled up in her eyes, and she looked at Julian Sinclair through blurred vision, finally unable to resist throwing herself into his arms, crying like a child.
"Uncle..." Moira Young choked, her voice thick with nasal sound, a hint of pleading in her eyes, "I don’t want to stay here anymore. Can you send me abroad to study..."
Ultimately, it was just to stay away from Heath Sterling and avoid trouble.
She thought Julian Sinclair would agree, but unexpectedly, he rejected her outright.
"Not now, wait a little longer." Julian Sinclair felt hurt, but there was nothing he could do, "Be good, Moira."
"Why... you clearly promised me that if I wished, it would definitely happen. Why do you never keep your promise at the crucial moment?" Moira Young stopped sobbing, rose from his embrace, and suddenly sneered, "I nearly forgot, you always break your promises, or you wouldn’t have abandoned me."
Julian Sinclair’s heart tightened upon hearing the last words, "Soon, you can go wherever you want."
Moira Young suddenly asked, perhaps her mind malfunctioned, "Soon, I can go wherever I want, and then you and Fiona Rhodes can enjoy your world for two?"
"Then why did you ask me to come back?"
"Am I just a toy to be discarded and picked up at your whim?"
Julian Sinclair remained silent, his face dark, with eyes as deep and mysterious as the ancient well, unfathomable and frightening.
The car suddenly turned cold, the atmosphere gradually suffocating.
The reason Julian Sinclair wouldn’t let Moira Young go abroad was due to his recent discovery: Arthur Whitman and Old Six from the Sinclair family are collaborating on arms business, which, apart from China, spans almost all countries. Though Arthur Whitman has no foothold in China, abroad he still holds vast assets and business chains.
Before Julian Sinclair gained control over The Sinclair Group’s power, he had no ability to ensure Moira Young’s safety overseas.
Julian Sinclair’s influence is currently limited to domestic affairs; abroad he’s only known as Julian, a title without substance.
"The timing isn’t right yet, hold off on studying abroad," Julian Sinclair said lightly.
Moira Young is more concerned about him and Fiona Rhodes rather than studying abroad, yet Julian Sinclair bypasses it.
The mere thought of them two together in Julian Sinclair’s room makes her feel sick.
"I’m not going." Moira Young turned her head, speaking directly.
"Why are you becoming more willful?" Julian Sinclair just wanted to reach out and touch her head, but she slapped his hand away.
"Don’t touch me!" Moira Young, disturbed by the thought of them together, flinched as Julian Sinclair’s hand reached towards her, making her instinctively shift closer to the car door.
Julian Sinclair’s hand froze mid-air, completely unexpected that Moira wouldn’t even allow him to touch her.
"Why aren’t you with your girlfriend? What are you doing here with me?" Moira Young, in her simplicity, didn’t even realize her words implied jealousy.
Julian Sinclair raised a brow, "So, my Moira is jealous."
"Who’s jealous? Why should I be jealous?" Moira Young pouted, increasingly angry since Fiona Rhodes is his legitimate girlfriend, what right does she have to be jealous?
"I didn’t touch her."
Moira Young was stunned, her gaze awkward, never expecting Julian Sinclair to speak so directly! And now she realizes how much she cares about this matter...
Now, biting her lip, she dared not utter a sound. That single sentence made her cheeks burn with embarrassment.
"Who... who cares about that..." Moira Young stammered, trying to clear herself.
"Then what do you care about?" Julian Sinclair’s lips curved, emanating a charming aura in the dim car interior.
The car suddenly stopped, and Butler Liu lightly coughed, aware of the awkward timing but unable not to speak, "Young master, we’ve arrived."
Moira Young glanced outside, it was a hot pot restaurant; she’d never seen Julian Sinclair eat hot pot before, why suddenly today?
Once inside, she found Adrian Grant here, the place was already booked entirely.
Several women surrounded Adrian Grant, each with their own style; Moira Young glanced around casually, seeing that apart from the quiet and reserved, nearly all other personalities were present.
"Hey! My little Moira is here too! Sit down and eat, today is your brother Adrian’s birthday!" Adrian Grant was very happy.
But in Moira Young’s view, his happiness wasn’t about the birthday, but the various beauties by his side...
Julian Sinclair sat expressionless, and Moira Young followed suit.
Adrian Grant looked at the two of them and couldn’t help but tease, "The two of you, one expressionless, one looking cold, are you sincerely here to celebrate my birthday? Or here to crash it?"
Julian Sinclair acted as if saying who would come to such a place if it wasn’t for your birthday.
Moira Young glanced at Julian Sinclair from the corner of her eye, couldn’t help but snicker, suddenly finding Julian Sinclair really cute.
"Oh, you two! Not thanking your benefactor is one thing, but daring to laugh!" Adrian Grant gestured, "Waiter, bring the wine! I must get this expressionless one and the one who laughed at me drunk today!" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"He’s injured, can’t drink!" Moira Young, in excitement, instinctively stopped, but her voice was a bit loud, causing everyone at the table to look at her.
The atmosphere suddenly turned awkward.
"You heard that." Julian Sinclair looked at Adrian Grant, a triumphant smile in his eyes.
Adrian Grant shrugged, "Fine, Julian, you didn’t bring a birthday gift, and now you’re flaunting your coupledom here, do you think not drinking is fair to me?"
Moira Young pouted, clearly against Julian Sinclair drinking.
"Fine, I’ll drink." Julian Sinclair spoke to Butler Liu, who then left.
Moira Young glared at him with wide eyes, so annoyed she could only whisper so he alone could hear, "No more drinking."
Julian Sinclair finally showed a bit of expression but didn’t respond to Moira Young.
After a while, Butler Liu brought a bottle of red wine in, and Adrian Grant took it and looked at it, his eyes practically sparkling, "Wow, you’re actually letting me drink such good wine?"
Though Moira Young didn’t know wine, if Adrian Grant said it’s good, it must be really good. Annoyed, she spoke up, "I want to drink too."
Julian Sinclair didn’t stop her, as she was already an adult and always beside him, he knew there wouldn’t be any danger.
After the waiter opened the wine and poured it for them, the women around Adrian Grant were quite adept at drinking, likely skilled from looping in nightclubs, started to get handsy as they drank more.
Moira Young couldn’t bear watching anymore; she picked up the wine glass and emptied it in one gulp, "Refill."
But the wine was already gone...
She tugged on Julian Sinclair’s sleeve.
"I want more." Moira Young, already a bit tipsy, still believed herself sober.
"No more drinking."
"Let me drink..." Moira Young blinked her incredibly beautiful eyes, suddenly began to whine, her voice soft and charmingly sweet, making Julian Sinclair irresistible to such coaxing, if it were someone else, they’d probably be smitten.
Julian Sinclair, helpless towards her, was slightly exasperated, but seeing her dismissing the barriers between them, his heart melted immediately.
Butler Liu fetched another bottle of red wine from the car, and the waiter poured more for Moira Young.
Adrian Grant was in high spirits, and seeing the wine come, immediately called out, "Pour for everyone, especially Julian and Moira, tonight seems like a sleepless night."
After speaking, he winked deviantly at Julian Sinclair.
"You’re drunk." Julian Sinclair refused to engage, returning the look.
"It’s not me who’s drunk, it’s her—" Adrian Grant intentionally elongated his words.
