Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 103: The Meeting
The Sinclair family.
Mrs. Miller had just gone to the storeroom to get some coffee that Adrian Grant had brought over. Lately, Adrian had been visiting every day, almost finishing the coffee he brought.
She thought Moira Young should be studying at this hour and made her a cup of milk to take upstairs.
"Miss, I made you a cup of milk and a sandwich. You didn’t eat much for dinner, so you must be hungry?" Mrs. Miller’s happiest moments were when she could bring Moira Young something to eat.
She waited for a while but there was no response from inside.
"Miss Moira?" Mrs. Miller knocked on the door tentatively, but still no response.
Could she be in the shower? She opened the door, went in, put the things on the table, and called towards the bathroom, "Miss, I left a snack for you on the table, remember to eat it later."
Just as she was about to leave, she felt something was wrong. She went back, opened the bathroom door, and found Moira Young wasn’t there at all.
She had just gone into the storeroom for a bit, how could Moira disappear in the blink of an eye?
Right now Julian Sinclair and Fiona Rhodes were in the bedroom, she couldn’t disturb them, what should she do...
Mrs. Miller worried for a long while. Although Moira Young had grown up, it was already past eight, and it was dangerous for a girl to be out alone, especially considering the reason why she left.
If it was because of Fiona’s staying over, the consequences wouldn’t be so simple...
Inside Julian Sinclair’s bedroom.
Julian Sinclair wrapped his arm around Fiona Rhodes’ waist, "Let the driver take you home."
"No, I want to stay with you." Fiona Rhodes had finally gotten into this bed; she wasn’t willing to leave.
"You’re only going to distract me here." Julian Sinclair deliberately let his gaze drift to Fiona Rhodes’ chest.
Fiona’s face flushed red; she understood the implication behind Julian’s words. As long as she was here, Julian wouldn’t be able to resist wanting her, which could cause his shoulder to suffer a secondary injury.
She suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, "Alright then, you just rest properly and don’t move around."
Julian nodded, the pain was persistent, the cold sweat on his forehead was real.
Once Fiona left, Julian Sinclair’s expression gradually returned to a cold indifference as he watched Fiona’s departing figure through the curtain. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
He had only been playing along with Fiona. Being constantly around Moira Young, he was still a man and had needs to relieve. So when he had been with Fiona before, he hadn’t felt any disgust.
But now, besides Moira Young, he didn’t want to touch anyone else.
Just now, to send Fiona away without suspicion, he resorted to a ruse. For the first time, he found an advantage in being injured.
Once the pain in his shoulder subsided, Julian opened the curtains and the window; he didn’t like Fiona Rhodes’ perfume.
More importantly, he didn’t want Moira Young to smell another woman’s scent.
"Young Master..." Mrs. Miller waited until Fiona Rhodes had left before she dared to knock on the door.
"Come in." Julian Sinclair’s frown hadn’t eased.
Mrs. Miller opened the door, her face troubled, "Young Master, Miss Moira is missing."
Julian had been standing by the window, breathing in the fresh air, but upon hearing this news, he immediately turned around and walked over, his face cold as a knife, chilling to the bone.
He brushed past Mrs. Miller and headed to Moira’s room, finding indeed no one there.
"Call Mr. Miller, everyone go look for her!" Julian Sinclair’s eyes burned with rage, like an enraged wolf, his gaze icy cold.
Mrs. Miller was so startled she quickly called Mr. Miller.
Julian grabbed a cape of Moira Young’s and prepared to leave, Mrs. Miller called after him, "Young Master, you haven’t taken your coat!"
Julian couldn’t care less about that now, the most important thing was to find Moira Young. He remembered two years ago when he had staged a scene with Sylvia Lopez to let Moira see, and Moira had run out into the rain alone and ended up with a fever.
Though there was no rain today, he feared she might catch a chill.
——
Starlight Cafe, first branch.
Moira Young got out of the taxi at eight-thirty. She looked around the cafe but didn’t see Heath Sterling’s mom.
Unexpectedly, she didn’t see Heath’s mom, but she did see the girl who had splashed her with water at the Thai restaurant last time, surrounded by what seemed to be her sister.
The two of them pointed at Moira Young.
Moira didn’t want to get involved with people like that, so she immediately ran out and caught another cab to the second Starlight Cafe branch.
As soon as the taxi arrived at the second branch, Moira Young saw Heath’s mom through the glass, impatiently looking at her watch.
She hurriedly tried to get out of the car, but the driver stopped her, "You haven’t paid yet."
Moira Young handed him a bank card, "Driver, please hurry, I have an emergency."
"Miss, my car doesn’t support card payments, cash or WeChat is fine." The driver’s voice remained amicably patient despite a hint of irritation, as she was very pretty.
"Cash..." Moira’s heart sank. She didn’t have any cash on her...
WeChat was just a communication tool for her, she’d never used it to pay for anything, so naturally, she didn’t have any money in it...
"Do you not have cash?" The driver focused on her, "You’re meeting someone here, right? Ask your friend to pay for you, it’s just twenty bucks."
Moira Young bit her lower lip, torn with embarrassment. She didn’t have the face to ask Heath’s mom for money.
Unexpectedly, Heath’s mom noticed Moira through the cafe’s floor-to-ceiling windows. She walked out, looking impatient, and her tone was harsh, "You’ve been late for so long, why won’t you get out of the car?"
Moira was startled, her eyes reddened, and she felt wronged, "I’m sorry, Auntie, I didn’t bring cash for the taxi fare..."
Heath’s mom sneered, took out money from her purse, "Heath didn’t give you money?"
"How much?" Without giving Moira a chance to respond, she directly asked the driver and handed him the money.
After getting out, Moira followed Heath’s mom into the cafe and sat down.
"Moira Young, you had a history with Julian Sinclair, I didn’t say anything then, but now you’re the town’s outcast." Heath’s mom went straight to the point.
Moira didn’t mind this comment, "Auntie—"
"Don’t call me that so intimately. From the moment you caused Heath to break his leg two years ago, I knew you were a jinx. I initially wanted to send Heath and Thea Thorne abroad to prevent you two from meeting again, but Heath didn’t want that, and I couldn’t believe you two still met." Heath’s mom always saw Moira Young as a child. As long as she asserted her authority, Moira would surely be intimidated.
"How far have you gone with my son?"
