As soon as she entered the house, An Hao saw Yuan Yunong sitting on the living room sofa.

The two of them didn’t know what they were talking about but seemed to be having a pleasant chat.

The two children were sitting next to them, building blocks and enjoying themselves immensely.

Seeing that An Hao had returned, Zhang Yun stood up and said, "Why are you so late today?"

"Got held up by something," An Hao replied vaguely, as she hung her bag on the coat hook on the wall and turned to greet Yuan Yunong, "Mr. Yuan is here!"

"You’re back, Dr. An," Yuan Yunong stood up, smiling slightly as she looked at An Hao, "I came today to check on Chenyang and Chenguang, see how they’re doing!"

"They might need a few more days to recover." An Hao glanced at the children’s injuries on their faces, and said helplessly, "The injuries are all on their faces!"

"Yes, that’s why we’ve been feeling uneasy about it, so we made a special visit to see the kids." Yuan Yunong said apologetically.

"Mr. Yuan, you’re too courteous! They aren’t hurt too badly, yet you went to the trouble to come again!" An Hao said.

"Exactly, and look at how much stuff she brought with her!" Zhang Yun pointed at the pile of things on the table and said, "Must have cost quite a bit, right?"

"Didn’t I tell you? Our kindergarten covered these expenses! The principal also felt bad about the incident so she specifically asked me to come on her behalf! If she wasn’t busy today, she would have come herself." Yuan Yunong explained.

"Did someone visit Wang Xiaohu’s side since you got hit there too? Did the principal send someone to check over there too?" An Hao asked.

"Yes. Sister Liu went to see them, both of us came on behalf of the principal!"

"Mr. Yuan, please convey our message. Let them know the kids are okay and will be back to school in a few days. Thank the principal for caring about us."

"Don’t worry. We’ll make sure to deliver the message in a day."

"Thank you very much, Mr. Yuan," An Hao said politely.

With her tasks completed, Yuan Yunong got up to say goodbye.

"Stay and have dinner before you go, Mr. Yuan," Zhang Yun warmly invited Yuan Yunong to stay.

"I’ll pass. I already felt bad eating here last time! This time I really can’t stay," Yuan Yunong said half-jokingly, "Who knows what the commanding officer and captain would think of me if they see me coming to mooch again!"

"They aren’t coming back for dinner tonight. It’s just us women, it’ll be lively to eat together," Zhang Yun replied casually.

"Seems like the commander and that officer are quite busy! Is it always like this with military people? They can’t come back to eat on time every day!" Yuan Yunong remarked.

"Not really. It’s just a coincidence they both have plans today. Qin Jian seldom works late at night, but today..."

"Mom," An Hao interrupted Zhang Yun, "What do you want to make for dinner if you’re inviting Mr. Yuan? I’ll get it ready."

Upon hearing that dinner was being prepared, Yuan Yunong quickly said goodbye: "I really have to go. I have things to do this evening! Thank you, Auntie, and thank you, Dr. An, for the invitation!"

"Since that’s the case, we won’t keep you. Thank you for taking care of the kids!" An Hao smiled as she saw Yuan Yunong out the door.

When she turned back inside, she saw Zhang Yun looking at her with a smile, a hint of something else in her expression.
