Surviving The Beast World With My 'Sassy' System-Chapter 28: Achievement Log
She clicked her mouth shut. Then open. Then shut again, like her brain needed a reboot.
"This..." she whispered, staring blankly at the moonlit canopy above, "is straight-up insane..."
Then, with a huff of disbelief, she rolled her head to the side. "So they weren’t hostile at all? They didn’t try asking, finding out where I came out from... nothing? They were just—" she waved one hand weakly, "—that freaking chill?"
Her gaze slid to the bandage on her arm, the wrapping neat and secure, clearly done with practiced hands. She ran her fingers along the edge slowly.
"Wow... these Beastmen are really kind. Like—ridiculously kind. Kinder than the coworkers I’ve been stuck with for years. Damn."
Nessa puffed up with smug satisfaction.
’Yes, host! Exactly! You’re barely feeling any pain, right? That tells you everything you need to know.’
Lavayla turned slightly, chin brushing the baby’s soft hair as he breathed against her chest. Her eyes drifted to a massive sleeping Panther in front of her, its sides rising and falling in a deep, rumbling rhythm. She nodded, almost reluctantly.
"Yeah... but wait. Didn’t you say they were primitive? Stone Age level? How the hell are they so skilled that they knew exactly how to treat those wounds with herbs? That stuff isn’t beginner knowledge."
’Well, host, that’s where it gets interesting. Most Beastman tribes in this world honestly know next to nothing. But some tribes — very few — have managed to gain knowledge from the more advanced tribes across the Great Peaks. They live far beyond the Great Peaks. That place is basically the giant canyon of class division—everything crude on one side, everything refined on the other. Maybe this tribe encountered a developed one. Maybe they traded, or fought, or stumbled on knowledge. Who knows? But they definitely know more than the average wild group. And thank the heavens they were the ones who found you, because I cannot treat you without permission.’
"Huh." Lavayla rubbed her arm thoughtfully. "That actually... tracks. And the pain’s almost gone. Seriously, what plants did they use? ’Cause I’m sure it’s nothing like whatever stuff we had back on Earth."
’Host, this world’s healing plants are six times more effective than the ones you had before — adjusted for injury severity and recovery duration. You lucked out so hard.’
Lavayla snorted softly. "No wonder. Good thing I ran into these ones instead of that bastard lion beastman from earlier."
A cool breeze brushed against her ankles, and she frowned, glancing down in confusion. "Wait... why are my feet bare?"
’Oh! I stored your boots in the space vault the moment you passed out.’
Lavayla tilted her head back and let out a long, suffering sigh. "Great. Love that for me."
Right on cue, her stomach growled — long, dramatic, and petty.
"...Fantastic," she muttered. "Now hunger wants to join the party."
"Nessa, please tell me your mall has something edible."
’Yes, host! And by the way—you have over one hundred thousand points now! And you’ve unlocked a brand-new—’
Lavayla jolted upright so hard the Panther next to her twitched in its sleep.
’What?! A hundred thousand? From WHERE? HOW? WHEN?!’
If Nessa had a physical face, it would’ve been glowing like a proud mom at a graduation ceremony, holding a poster board and yelling from the front row.
’Host... allow me to present the glorious results of your Achievement Log.’
A panel unfurled before her in a warm, radiant gold — soft light blooming outward like dawn breaking behind glass. The heading shimmered across the top in bold, elegant letters:
WILD GENESIS, ACHIEVEMENT LOG
Her breath caught.
Below the header, the achievements rolled down one after another, glowing with faint luminescence — the exact feats Nessa had rambled about in her smug, dramatic commentary:
Kill 1/5 high-tier beasts – Reward: 100,000 points
Kill 1/5 mid-tier beasts – Reward: 50,000 points
Survive a day in the primitive beast world – Reward: 5,000 points
Survive 2/5 days in the primitive beast world – Reward: 25,000 points (New!)
Assist mid-tier Beastmen in battle and gain the upper hand – Reward: 8,000 points
Harvest 1/10 mid-tier beast cores – Reward: 10,000 points
Fight face-to-face with a mid-tier Beastman and win – Reward: 20,000 points
Gain the favor of 5 to 10 Beastmen – Reward: 10,000 points (New!)
The remaining two entries on the list were dimmed, muted, waiting their turn in the future — but even those faint silhouettes looked intimidating, like mountains she’d eventually have to climb.
Before she could even swipe back up to re-read her achievements, the entire log folded in on itself, shrinking into a thin bar — only to unfold a second sequence of glowing text.
Each completed achievement blossomed into a separate notification, lines flowing smoothly as if the system wanted to make absolutely sure she savored every point:
Then, in bold celebratory flourish:
Congratulations Lavayla Kingsley! A total of 43,000 points have been added to your point balance!
Lavayla stared at the glowing panel, her mouth soft and parted, her brain floating somewhere between awe and disbelief. "I... what..." was all she managed before—
Ding!
Another panel appeared sharply, pulling her clean out of the dazed haze like someone yanking a curtain open.
[Mission Completed! Assist the Shadowclaw Panther Tribe in their fight against the Sunmane Lion Tribe and ensure their victory.]
[Reward: 50,000 points. +10,000 bonus due to the mission being completed within 2 hours!]
[Congratulations Host!]
Lavayla’s stomach swooped. Her pulse kicked up. "Ne–Nessa... What is my point balance?"
Nessa practically vibrated with excitement.
’Guess, host! Guess!’
Lavayla swallowed hard, licking her dry lips. ’A hundred?’
Nessa burst into delighted laughter.
’No, no, no, host — look. Just take a look yourself~’
The panels dissolved, curling away like golden leaves carried by a gentle wind, and a new screen unfolded — her Status Screen, crisp and bright.
Lavayla ignored every stat, every title, every skill.
Her eyes went straight to the number glowing at the bottom.
Point Balance: 123,050 Points
A soft, disbelieving exhale slipped out of her.
"...Holy shit."
