Surviving in the Beast World with a System-Chapter 117: Getting Busy
Qingcao wore a suggestive grin. "Let me tell you, my Amu went to the Clan Leader’s cave for a meeting today.
The Clan Leader said that all the young Pure Humans will get to participate in the Priest ceremony this time, and we’ll all receive the Witch’s blessing."
Wu Yue still looked utterly confused. "Oh..."
Qingcao said in exasperation, "What’s with that look? Don’t you get it? Every time our tribe holds the Priest ceremony, Beastmen from other tribes come to join. And when they do... hehehe..."
That devious laughter finally snapped Wu Yue out of her daze. "What are you getting at?"
Qingcao cleared her throat. "What do you mean, ’what am I getting at’? If some handsome male Beastmen show up, we can choose one we like and get together with them."
Wu Yue looked shocked. "But aren’t we Snow Tiger Beastmen? Can we really get together with Beastmen from other tribes?"
’Isn’t that basically... crossbreeding?’
Qingcao looked at her with pity. "Yue, your old tribe must have been so weak for you not to even know this. As long as a female receives the Witch’s blessing after getting pregnant, the cubs she gives birth to will all be Snow Tiger Beastmen."
Wu Yue gasped in amazement. "Wow, my Witch is amazing."
She suddenly had second thoughts about becoming a Witch. ’Why does the Witch here have to be in charge of everything?’
’They have to manage Priest ceremonies, oversee healing, and now they even moonlight doing ultrasounds. She just wanted to know, is there anything a Witch *can’t* do?’ 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"With great power comes great responsibility. This principle is the same everywhere. I’m sure the Host understands, right?"
The System, which had just said it was going to rest, quickly sprang back into action after sensing its Dog Host was thinking of quitting.
’Having such a lazy and unmotivated host,’ it thought. ’A System’s life is just too hard.’
To prepare for the Snow Tiger Tribe’s most important Priest ceremony, the entire tribe bustled with activity. Even the collection trips, which used to happen once every few days, now became a daily affair.
With this rare abundance of food, the tribe members started getting visibly chubbier.
Even the little cubs grew plump and round. You could occasionally spot a group of little chubby furballs chasing each other around, sometimes running so fast they would trip over their own stout little legs.
They would tumble head over heels, bump into a playmate, shake their slightly dizzy little heads, wiggle their chubby little butts, and then continue scampering happily after their friends, yipping and yowling all the while.
When the wind parted their fur, you could see their round little bellies, a far cry from the little bags of bones they were before.
The little ones would occasionally pounce on a Beastman’s feet, and the Beastman would gently nudge them aside with a motion so light it seemed like a game.
After getting a taste of being swung through the air, the little ones’ dark eyes would sparkle. They would yelp and crowd around the Beastmen, waiting to be sent flying again...
It was certainly a rare form of parent-child bonding.
"Yue, come help!"
Grandma Hua Shu’s deafening shout echoed across the clearing. Wu Yue pulled her gaze away from the little cubs and quickly ran over.
The females of the Collection Team were using the method she had taught them, tying the assorted wild vegetables into neat bundles with dried grass.
Grandma Hua Shu’s Collection Team was now the most sought-after in the tribe. Not only did they have bamboo bags that could hold a lot, but they also had beautiful and practical rattan baskets.
If other Collection Teams wanted one, they had to trade food for it.
The wild vegetables were neatly stacked in the rattan baskets. Hua Shu and a few other females each shouldered a basket, and Wu Yue stepped forward to help as well.
