Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 358: The Faction’s Mascot
From a simple glance, it became clear that Michael wasn’t the only one conflicted. Victoria, who had also been watching the clash between the two factions, clenched her fists in determination.
"This is it." She murmured.
"Standing against my grandfather’s faction..." Heaving a sigh, Victoria threw a glance toward Michael.
"Truthfully, the idea of opposing my origins so openly never entered my mind. Until you came along, that is."
Michael chuckled. "Hopefully you aren’t having regrets?"
Victoria’s eyes narrowed with dangerous intensity.
"Never."
Given that their next opponent was set to be the Golden Vanguard, Michael’s faction was going to use the week of preparation they had been given to plan accordingly.
Training more than a hundred Lords was a tremendously challenging task, especially within such a small framework.
Additionally, if the lesser troops were to be added into the mix, it resulted in more than a thousand soldiers, all with differing fight styles that needed to be trained to at least work in synchronized harmony.
Perhaps the main reason the Indomitable Alliance had been able to consistently punch above its weight, besides Michael’s leadership abilities, was the crew’s capacity to cover each other’s weak points.
Synchronization, which had become progressively harder to manage as their troops grew larger.
However, hard didn’t mean impossible, not to mention Michael had already achieved the impossible several times over.
Utilizing the open field training ground, which had gone mostly unused until now, the Indomitable Alliance was split into several groups, each commanded by a leader whose job was to train them in true cooperation.
Rather than training everybody himself, Michael only instructed those who were chosen to lead, minimizing wasted time.
In mere hours, the inner territory of the Indomitable Alliance began to mirror the discipline of a military base, one-to-one.
In each direction, there were always soldiers moving with purpose, eager to prove that they deserved a spot in Michael’s faction.
While all of this was underway, Scarlett and Isabella continued their training. Understandably, Michael grew increasingly burdened, considering the things he needed to micromanage.
After a thoughtfully designed plan and relying on her puppy eyes, Scarlett managed to convince her brother to allow her training under Devil’s supervision to continue, with even their mother joining in the mix.
Inevitably, the teenage girl was growing more powerful, yet she was feeling more like a burden. With so many sudden additions to their faction, she had trouble getting to know everybody.
Not to mention, there was still the risk that after the tournament, Michael would send her and their mother back to the café under the pretext that he didn’t want them to get fixated solely on strength.
The constant worry led Scarlett to come up with a genius idea.
"Let’s make a cafe here!" Her emerald eyes sparkled like priceless gems, her gaze turning to her mother.
"Think about it, Mom! Not only would we have exclusive business in the Indomitable Alliance’s domain, but it would also serve as a nice way to get accustomed to everybody!"
Funds had stopped being a problem a long time ago, not to mention that there was more than enough empty space and unused facilities, so creating a little cafe should pose little to no problem.
Isabella was going to reason that the idea was too absurd, yet since she had begun to grow bored of only cultivating and training, she eventually agreed.
It came as no surprise that Michael let them do as they wished. In his eyes the more mundane the lives of his family were, the better. He didn’t want them to turn as cold-hearted as himself.
Which was how a neatly designed cafe resulted in opening right in the middle of the Indomitable Alliance.
Scarlett was astonished. The end result blew past her wildest expectations.
Under the brutal coordinated training the troops were constantly under, it was understandable every soldier, whether a mere Expert or a mighty Lord, constantly felt exhausted being pushed to the brink.
In their eyes, a café opening amid the hellish training they were constantly subjected to felt like an oasis in the middle of a desert.
The oasis seemed to turn into heaven itself, as the second they entered, they were greeted by the cheerful smile Scarlett always radiated and the delicious food Isabella was able to conjure with speed no mortal could possibly hope to comprehend. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
For the first time in her life, Scarlett found it insanely easy to make friends. Whether she spoke with other girls, regardless of how much more powerful they were than her, they always showed hospitality.
Of course, there was a good reason for that...
"You hear?! The waitress is called Scarlett, supposedly Michael’s little sister, while Isabella is his mother!"
"What?! You’re telling me these gentle women share a bloodline with the madman himself?!"
"Correct! So you better smile back and don’t you even get any funny ideas about laying your hands on them! Otherwise nobody would be saving you from the Demon himself!"
Pretty quickly, Scarlett turned into the Indomitable Alliance’s mascot.
A consensus had been reached among the troops.
Harming Michael’s little sister in any way would result in a fate worse than death.
The day of the semifinals neared, the members of the Indomitable Alliance grew more powerful and, as a result, more attached to Scarlett and Isabella.
By now Michael’s family had attained status as goddesses of mercy who would never fail to soothe the aches of the warriors after the unrelenting training.
Today was the same as any other. The cafe was bustling with people.
"Dear, can you please grab me a few provisions from the back?" Isabella asked. "I am a bit busy cooking."
"Sure, Mom." Scarlett exclaimed.
She went to the storage room, not intending to linger for more than necessary.
Buried in the midst of the provisions, she heard the door creaking open. Another person entering.
"The bathroom is to the right." Scarlett called out, assuming that a new customer had mistakenly entered the storage room.
Only for her eyes to widen as a cloth, soaked with a sleeping drug, pressed over her nose and mouth.
"I’ve come for you, little miss." A male voice taunted mockingly.
