Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 307: Indomitable Blaze
Shortly after Michael was transported to the battle space, his senses began to return.
The first thing he noticed after his vision was restored was greenery.
Looming trees, ranging from twenty to sixty meters in height, barely allowed any sunlight to penetrate. Thick vines twisted around their trunks, climbing from the base to the top. Beneath them, numerous bushes sprang from the ground alongside tall grass, which obscured the few mushrooms that dared to grow there.
"So we are going to fight in a jungle..." Michael concluded, his eyes narrowing.
The surroundings were hot. And the air was very humid. Add to that the dampness of the plants, and it would complicate their plans... but not hinder them.
Once done surveying the biome, Michael turned, his eyes settling on the castle.
Its exterior appeared unremarkable. The only thing worth noting was that among the protective walls, vines had begun to spread, making potential infiltration easier.
Not paying much mind to the drones discreetly flying around them, Michael shifted his attention to the crew.
Besides himself, the ones he could rely on were: Richard, Victoria, Claire, Ava, Ruby, Amelia, Enzo, Leo, Bryce, and Cyberfang.
Rather a distinct cast, if Michael had to admit.
"We are in a jungle." He spoke once they had gotten used to their surroundings.
"Movement will be slower, but hiding will be easier. Keep that in mind."
Glancing around the recording drones, Victoria asked.
"Do we have to worry about them?"
Michael shook his head.
"From the encounters we have watched until now, they have never gotten close enough to record speech. We should be fine."
Another concern was whether the Eternal Blade could use the live broadcast to pinpoint their exact location. However, Michael had ensured before the battle began that this wouldn’t be possible.
The Emperor had severed all forms of communication within the spatially manipulated space. Even if someone managed to bypass this, they would still answer to the ruler of humanity himself.
Michael took a deep breath.
"You all know your roles. Give them hell."
Nodding eagerly, the squad spread out, each with a specific task in mind.
As for Michael, he surveyed the surroundings for a few more seconds before entering the castle utterly alone.
Though the squad had spread out, the drones focused mainly on Victoria.
It was for good reason. After all, she was charging straight into the heart of the jungle, heading directly toward the castle of their opponent!
Several minutes of tense silence passed as she moved effortlessly past every obstacle in her path.
Eventually Bryce’s voice echoed from her earpiece.
"This is close enough to the center!"
Instantly Victoria dug her slender legs in the ground, halting her charge.
"Hope this works..."
Her eyes sharpened like a fearsome dragon.
Then the already hot climate seemed to boil as she conjured flames across her body. Her lungs expanded before she began to spill out the blaze like an inferno of hell.
With her invaluable technique, Victoria played one of the most crucial tasks. By setting a large portion of the battlefield ablaze, she forced the Eternal Blade’s forces to spread out, making it easier for Michael’s team to pick them off one by one.
After all, this wasn’t reality but a battlefield crafted through spatial manipulation. No matter how much destruction they caused in their clash, it wouldn’t matter in the end.
Truthfully, it would even be encouraged since it would cause the live viewers to watch with more anticipation.
"Good." Victoria nodded, sweat forming across her skin and clinging to her alluring figure. Thankfully, the black smoke surrounding her kept the drones from noticing such details.
Wordlessly, she charged toward one side, unleashing a relentless inferno that reshaped the battlefield with every step.
At some point Leo’s voice echoed.
"Go towards the west! The east has endured enough damage!"
The man had masterfully climbed atop the tallest tree he could find. Lying across one of its largest branches, he had wiped out his sniper, his eye scanning through the scope.
"Visual confirmation!"
At last, his eyes caught the faint outline of figures approaching their territory. Unlike the members of the Indomitable Alliance, who moved without hesitation, the Eternal Blade acted cautiously despite their overwhelming numerical advantage.
"I see movement on my side too!" Bryce’s voice rang out a moment later.
By now Richard, Victoria, and Claire stood ready. As for Amelia and Enzo, they had boarded Cyberfang, ready to cause havoc.
Seconds stretching in infinity. The millions of viewers holding their breath.
Some believed the Indomitable Alliance would emerge victorious, while others thought they didn’t have a chance.
The chat reflected the divide perfectly, moving faster than the eye could follow.
[Hater 101: Stop daydreaming. The Indomitable Alliance is doomed!] 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
[Michael’s wife: Just wait and see!]
[Cultured Gentleman: The Indomitable Alliance has the hotter members, that is for sure...]
Although understandable anarchy was growing, it all crumbled when Michael’s voice echoed across the communication channel.
"Go."
Instantly violent blasts erupted across the battlefield.
From the looks of it, the Eternal Blade had attempted to scout the area before proceeding.
The inferno Victoria had caused made their job utterly difficult. That’s why they were caught off guard when three Grandmasters simultaneously attacked their separate teams!
"Come! You have no idea how long I have waited to kill humans without facing repercussions!" Richard declared, his fist colliding with the head of a Master.
Before his victim could react, it exploded into bloody mist coating the ground.
Of course, the Master had been transported out of the battle. The dead body was only an illusion. Yet it served its purpose of striking fear well enough.
For those unfortunate enough to face Victoria, fear gripped them as she drew near, her hot flames spreading relentlessly across the jungle.
Claire dropped into the heart of their ranks. Though forbidden from using her mecha, she was far from powerless. She carried with her a massive lance, sharp enough to decapitate a man with a single strike.
While the battle was unfolding, Michael sat calmly on the throne in the castle chamber.
"Let’s see how you will respond..." He mused, a mischievous smile spreading across his face.
