Supreme Dragon Lord-Chapter 87: Which Link Went Wrong?
Long Chen was taken aback.
The Sword of Misfortune? I hadn’t expected that the Blackwind Sword had claimed so many lives! It seems this sword is truly extraordinary. Otherwise, why would those predecessors have paid such a high price to obtain it?
Elder Lu spoke up at the right moment. "As I said before, if you ever decide you don’t want this sword, I can still buy it back from you at a high price."
"No need," Long Chen said calmly. "Since I’ve chosen this sword, it means I share a destiny with it. Besides, at the moment, I see no other sword that would suit me better than the Blackwind Sword."
"Thank you for the information, Elder Lu. Tomorrow is the day of the duel, so it’s time I returned. Farewell."
After speaking, Long Chen turned and left the Martial Institute. Arriving at the riverbank, he saw three disciples from the Second House waiting for a boat.
"Someone from the Bing Institute? Just keep waiting. When the boat arrives, we’ll get on first. There won’t be any room for you," one of the Second House disciples sneered.
Long Chen ignored them, not bothering to argue.
They’re just Second-class Disciples. What’s there to be so arrogant about?
His current cultivation had already reached the War Maniac First Layer Realm, placing him among the ranks of Second-class Disciples as well. He just hadn’t updated his information with an administrator yet.
"Tomorrow is the day of the ten-day duel. That Long Chen fellow really has a death wish, daring to provoke so many of the top ten experts on the Martial Roll."
"He impersonated a First-class Disciple to issue a life-and-death challenge to Senior Sister Su of the Earth Institute. That affair has become the laughingstock of the entire Martial Ancestor sect, and he’s even tarnished the reputation of our Human Institute! I hope tomorrow comes quickly. Once that brat is dead, this whole matter can be put behind us."
"Speaking of which, that Senior Sister Su with the Emperor Meridans is a true genius. I heard that before her seclusion, she broke through eight layers in a single day! This time in seclusion should be enough for her to step into the War Sect realm. I can’t imagine how terrifying she’ll become. For Long Chen to kill her is as difficult as ascending to the heavens, but for Su Miaoyu to kill him will be as easy as slaughtering a chicken."
"She’s just a thief. What right does she have to be called a genius?" Long Chen sneered.
His voice wasn’t loud, but it reached the ears of the Second House disciples clearly.
WHOOSH!
In that instant, several gazes focused on Long Chen.
One of the men shouted, "Kid, who are you? How dare you insult Senior Sister Su?"
"Long Chen."
Upon learning his identity, the disciples from the Second House were all stunned for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"I was wondering who had such a big mouth. So it’s you, the arrogant whelp who doesn’t know his place!"
"So you’re the one we’ve heard so much about! Kid, I admire your courage, but do you realize that because of you, we from the Human Institute get mocked by the other four institutes every time we go out?"
"You must take full responsibility for this! In any case, you’re going to die tomorrow. Before that, let us teach you a harsh lesson and vent the frustration for everyone in the Human Institute!"
As they spoke, the three Second House disciples unleashed their battle qi, which swept toward Long Chen in an instant.
In their eyes, Long Chen is merely a Third-class Disciple. He should be crushed by the pressure of their auras, unable to even move!
However, Long Chen stood his ground, unfazed.
At that same moment, Qiu Ming steered his boat to the shore, witnessing the scene. When he saw Long Chen, a jolt of fear shot through him.
What rotten luck! How did I run into him again?
Clearly, the incident where Xia Duoduo had controlled Long Chen to beat him senseless had left a deep psychological scar.
Fearing a repeat of that ordeal, he was about to turn the boat around when Long Chen called out to him. "Senior Brother Qiu, turning around before I’ve even boarded? That doesn’t seem quite right, does it?"
Hearing this, Qiu Ming froze.
He looked up at Long Chen as if looking at an Evil Creature, then forced an awkward smile. "Junior Apprentice Brother Long, I heard you were coming out of seclusion today, so I came here specifically to pick you up."
Long Chen took a single step forward!
Powerful battle qi erupted from him, blasting the three Second House disciples back. They stumbled away, their faces etched with pure astonishment.
How is this possible? He’s just a Third-class Disciple!
Before the three Second House disciples could even process what had happened, Long Chen tapped his toes on the ground, leaped into the air, and landed steadily on the boat.
Seeing this, the three quickly scrambled onto the boat as well, their eyes fixed on Long Chen with hostility.
"Senior Brother! He’s just a Third-class Disciple! He doesn’t deserve to be on your boat!" one of the men declared. "Kick him off, and we’ll give you an extra one hundred thousand Human Martial Beads!"
Feeling Long Chen’s indifferent gaze upon him, Qiu Ming’s eyelid twitched. He turned to the three disciples and spoke coldly, "Insolence! How dare you disrespect Junior Apprentice Brother Long! You’re the ones who should be getting off!"
As his voice fell, Qiu Ming waved his hand. A burst of battle qi swept all three of them off the boat and into the river, leaving them like drenched chickens.
He then turned to Long Chen and grinned. "Junior Brother, there’s no one left to get in your way. I’ll set off now."
His attitude was utterly respectful.
"What... What just happened?"
"Senior Brother, why is he being so respectful to that Long Chen fellow?"
"Where did it all go wrong?"
The three Second House disciples’ minds were filled with questions as they were left behind, staring blankly as the two departed.
