Super Soldier in the City-Chapter 1932 - 1995: Interrogation
Li Yifei got out of the car. It was the afternoon, naturally not yet dark, but the area was somewhat secluded. He found a place with no people and flipped over the wall. The other side was a villa; Li Yifei easily got in. Upon landing, he let out a gasp as he spotted two dogs, large and fierce-looking wolves. His landing point was right in their den, and his sudden appearance startled them both. After a few moments of shock, the dogs began to growl and prepared to pounce.
At this moment, Li Yifei suddenly released his aura, a mysterious oppressive force that made the fierce wolf dogs freeze. Their expressions changed drastically as they lowered their heads and tucked their tails between their legs.
Though they didn’t understand why, they sensed a dire fear emanating from the human in front of them. So, the fierce large dogs dared not make a sound, and within moments, they lay down on the ground, whimpering.
Li Yifei scoffed, stood straight, and walked inside. The two large dogs remained silent, not daring to move until he was gone.
Upon entering the yard, Li Yifei casually knocked out a guard. Through the window, he saw the tall, burly guard previously mentioned sitting in the first-floor living room, but the old man was nowhere to be seen. Glancing upwards, Li Yifei lightly exerted force with his legs, jumped up, and gracefully landed on the second-floor balcony. Looking through the window, he indeed saw the old man on the second floor, turned away from him making a phone call, nearly half his clothes off, revealing loose, flabby fat, revolting to behold.
Li Yifei had no interest in this, nor did he rush inside but rather listened to the man’s phone conversation.
This person was named Achilles Jalali, a high-ranking official in the Savak Organization, tasked with many duties. After listening for a while, Li Yifei confirmed he found the right person, hearing mentions of Huaxia people, investigation, surveillance, and similar terms in the conversation.
Patiently waiting for him to finish the call, Li Yifei gathered some information and confirmed this was indeed his target. He then placed his hand on the glass door, ready to break in. At that moment, Jalali tossed aside the phone, cursed a few times, and prepared to shower before swimming at a private spa, later intending to enjoy the private services offered there, reportedly involving a few young virgins. Jalali wondered how long it had been since he last tasted a virgin?
Humming an unsteady tune, Jalali walked naked into the bathroom, unaware of the shadow on the balcony behind him.
Li Yifei easily slid open the glass door, entered Jalali’s bedroom, and took a quick look. Naturally, it was lavish, but Li Yifei wasn’t interested. He picked up Jalali’s phone, glanced at it, and realized he couldn’t recognize many of the characters. Though he spoke Arabic and understood some Iranian languages, he really couldn’t read their script. Seeing that he couldn’t decipher it, Li Yifei didn’t bother with it further. While searching the room, he found two pistols with several bullets. Jalali, meanwhile, was whistling a carefree tune while thinking of taking some sort of aphrodisiac before engaging in vigorous activities at night, suddenly saw a man in his bedroom—a man he had never seen before.
Of course, this was not the main concern. What was crucial was the gun in the stranger’s hand, the very one he used for protection. The dark barrel was pointed directly at him, and Jalali dared not move. As a high-ranking Savak official, he had faced similar situations numerous times, so he didn’t panic much. After a few seconds, he smiled amiably at Li Yifei, saying, "Sir, standing while speaking is tiring; why don’t we sit down and chat?"
Li Yifei chuckled and said, "Sure, sit down."
"Would you like something to drink? I have some red wine from a French winery; it tastes quite good." Jalali slowly walked over, raising his hands to show he wouldn’t act rashly.
"This red wine is too poor, not worth drinking." Li Yifei shook his head, waved the gun, and said, "Come over and sit down."
Jalali felt a slight regret. Among his collection of wines, a handgun was hidden, already unlocked. As an intelligence officer, he always positioned himself in dangerous environments, and a gun was one of his sources of security, thus he had firearms scattered throughout his home.
However, he hadn’t anticipated someone could silently infiltrate, bypass the guards, and directly reach his bedroom. With the glass door on the balcony open, he knew how Li Yifei had come in.
Seeing his plans thwarted, Jalali could only sit down. Anyone daring to sneak into his home and aim a gun at him wasn’t ordinary, perhaps someone with specific intentions. Thus, he chose not to act out.
Sitting down, Jalali said, "Sir, if it’s money you want, there’s a safe in the adjacent room. The combination is..."
Seeing Li Yifei shake his head, Jalali understood the intruder wasn’t after money. Grudgingly, he said, "Then, what do you want? If I can help, sir, just say so, but please don’t harm me."
"You’re quite straightforward." Li Yifei commented, adjusted his posture to sit more comfortably, and said, "Given your understanding, I won’t make things tough for you. Tell me, where are the Huaxia people, and I’ll let you go."
Upon hearing this, Jalali, who had been guessing the intruder’s intention, was surprised by the rescue mission. He raised his head, eyes wide on Li Yifei.
"You... you’re not Middle Eastern?" Jalali hesitantly asked.
"Haha, of course not," Li Yifei replied.
"Sir, your demand is beyond my capacity. Since you found me, it proves you know my identity, but although I am a member of Savak, I am not involved in this affair, hence I don’t know..."
"Clearly, you are aware, otherwise how could you refuse so decisively?" Li Yifei glanced at him, saying softly.
Jalali was speechless under the gun’s threat. Knowing who his visitor was, he realized there were no tricks he could pull against the renowned Golden Eagle, Huaxia’s King of Soldiers.
The Golden Eagle was documented in Iranian intelligence as a top-tier figure. When he breached Iranian borders, many were shocked, learning he came for a rescue mission. The Iranian high command was angry, feeling capturing Huaxia operatives was justified, much like Iranians caught spying in Huaxia faced justice. This situation was also unlike earlier occurrences, as Huaxia had initiated a rescue operation without Iran voicing anything.
Moreover, many lives were taken; solely Li Yifei had killed over twenty elite Savak intelligence officers in the past few days. Even with such losses, they hadn’t even grazed the Golden Eagle.
Thus, the Golden Eagle was terrifying, with many Savak intel officers tracking him in-country now, involving half the nation’s intelligence force. Yet, the Golden Eagle calmly sat in his room, aiming a gun barrel at him, Jalali swallowed nervously. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Hundreds couldn’t tackle a single Golden Eagle, let alone Jalali. If information leaked from him, the consequences would be dire too.
"Golden Eagle, I know you and admire you. But coming to me won’t help regarding this issue." Jalali spread his hands in resignation.
Li Yifei smiled, saying, "Since you know me, let’s not beat around the bush. Tell me what I wish to know, and I’ll spare your life. It seems quite reasonable."
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, changing Jalali’s expression. A guard spoke from outside, "Boss, time is running short. You’d best hurry; otherwise, we’d be late."
Jalali glanced at Li Yifei, dared not utter a sound, while Li Yifei gestured he could speak. Jalali promptly shouted, "I’ve heard. Wait for me downstairs!"
"Yes, Boss," the guard replied and departed.
Jalali let out a breath and then said, "Golden Eagle, honestly, I don’t know. How about I give you some money for letting me go? I promise silence. You know, although part of Savak, our organization is chaotic, and I’m not with those people, so I wouldn’t betray you."
"Do you think I’d believe?" Li Yifei smiled at him. Since Jalali knew his identity, so it was easy to say; Li Yifei didn’t need to make threatening gestures as Jalali was already terribly frightened.
Sweat was visible on Jalali’s forehead. He wiped it and then said, "I truly don’t know. How about I start gathering intel for you immediately? I’ll inform you if there’s news."
"Jalali, that’s enough. Do you think I’m easy to negotiate with?" Li Yifei grew impatient; though the threats didn’t concern him, wasting time wasn’t acceptable.
Seeing Li Yifei’s expression change, Jalali also held his breath, saying, "You’re making it difficult for me."
"Jalali, Iranian Intelligence Savak’s senior officer, currently serving in the Intelligence Department International Relations Office, rank: Colonel. One of the main responsible figures in this Huaxia department incident," Li Yifei slowly stated, then raised a brow, asking, "Anything else to say?"
