Super Soldier in the City-Chapter 1923 - 1986: Shooting_3
Li Yifei then realized that this mission was indeed quite... unusual. The Tiger Company’s personnel, a total of ten, were involved in this mission. All ten were carefully selected, highly skilled, and excelled in individual combat, with strong abilities to handle various emergencies. This time, they disguised themselves to enter Pakistan from Xinjiang, then proceeded through Afghanistan into Iran. Their entry was highly confidential, aimed at finding an Iranian who had previously worked for the Iranian government but later disappeared. According to feedback from intelligence personnel, this person was taken by Iran’s espionage department.
Originally, this was a matter belonging to another country, and Huaxia would not interfere. However, the person in question held something very important concerning Huaxia, though not even the senior leaders knew what it specifically was, so naturally, Li Yifei didn’t know either.
This person was suspected to have fallen into the hands of Iran’s espionage department — it was the most probable scenario; otherwise, such a sudden disappearance wouldn’t have occurred. Despite secret monitoring and protection by Huaxia’s intelligence personnel, he vanished without a trace overnight.
Therefore, ten soldiers and several senior intelligence agents got ready to find the target. If possible, they were to rescue the individual and bring him back. Most importantly, they had to retrieve or destroy the item in his possession. Should rescue prove impossible, efforts must be made to eliminate him to minimize exposure risk.
As a result, when these more than ten individuals entered Iran, there was contact for the first two days. However, a few days later, they also disappeared, prompting Huaxia into urgency; even other intelligence agents had no clue about what happened to them.
After hearing this, Li Yifei smacked his lips, recognizing the task as a hot potato. Nevertheless, since he had already promised his senior leader, refusal was not an option. Reluctantly, Li Yifei remarked, "Senior leader, you sure have given me a tough challenge."
"If it weren’t difficult, I wouldn’t have come to you. Let me know if you can, so I can respond to the other side." The senior leader chuckled, adding a complaint, "These operatives are truly unreliable—ten went in, and not one returned. Did they not even think to leave someone for coordination to report back what’s happening?"
"Can I refuse? Since you personally came to me, turning it down would be unwise." Li Yifei said, scratching his head, "But, honestly, this job won’t be easy. Even though you’ve briefed me, I still know nothing specific. Iran is among the top fifteen largest countries by territory; it’s vast. Once I’m there, I’d be blind."
"I understand the situation, but you won’t be alone. They’ll assign other intelligence personnel to assist you. Also, I have a request," said the senior leader. Li Yifei replied, "Go ahead."
"Ensure your safety above all, while showing off our Flying Hawk Squad’s prowess. Accomplishing what the Tiger Company couldn’t will certainly boost our reputation!" the senior leader said solemnly.
Li Yifei would strive to achieve this even without being told, driven by a soldier’s sense of honor. Although he was expelled, he always considered himself a Huaxia soldier.
Especially since the senior leader emphasized prioritizing his safety, indicating his concern, Li Yifei assured, "Rest assured, leader. I will strive to complete the mission."
"Haha, with you on board, I can rest easy! Those people are truly desperate to have sought you out. This time, the Northern Military District owes us a favor."
"Senior leader, how about this: let’s call it a day. I’m on vacation with my wife. I’ll start tomorrow, and tonight I’ll prepare well!" Li Yifei proposed.
"Alright, they also need advance preparation. You should rest well today!" The senior leader, before hanging up, mischievously reminded Li Yifei to take it easy tonight and maintain his strength, amusing Li Yifei into a silent laugh.
Before retiring, the senior leader had been a commander-level officer. For others to come to him for help shows how tricky this situation is. Thus, Li Yifei didn’t postpone, and upon hanging up, just as he intended to wash his face, he heard a scream from outside. The voice belonged to He Fangqing, causing Li Yifei’s heart to skip. He rushed out and saw a group of masked men suddenly appear in front of the villa – five tall individuals armed with guns. It’s unclear when they infiltrated; Li Yifei, occupied with the phone call earlier, hadn’t sensed any danger. At that moment, they were aiming their guns at He Fangqing and several other women.
Sarama was at home without a gun, and she was just carrying fruit out when those men leaped out of the dark. She couldn’t react in time. Xu Shanshan could have acted; however, since He Fangqing was the first to be subdued, resisting might put He Fangqing in danger.
The five masked men, with four women under control, became very confident. Although they hadn’t yet seen the capable man, that no longer seemed crucial. With hostages in their grip, they assumed the man would have no choice but to comply!
