9: Searching for Medicine

Peter Brown had no idea how much wine he drank, and when he woke up the next day, it was already late.

He looked out of the window, only to see a bright sunny day, and the sunlight coming in from the window was warm on his body.

Rubbing his temples, Peter gradually recovered, realizing he had drunk too much last night.

Lying there basking in the sunlight, Peter pondered his future path.

Yesterday could be considered Peter’s first full release.

When he woke up with a clear and refreshed mind, the matter of Fiona no longer weighed on his heart, and he was no longer affected by it.

Now that he had some money, there was enough for Kate to go to college, and to help improve the living conditions of his family.

He could think about his future development.

Peter knew in his heart that he was a convict, and after reentering society, the paths open to him had narrowed considerably.

Of course, he could choose the path of following the “big bros” he knew, but he knew that the path he wanted to take was completely different from those people.

Cultivation!

This was an idea Peter had considered before.

Since he had the opportunity, why not head down the path of endless cultivation.

While in prison, Peter had been practicing a cultivation technique he had acquired.

This technique was called “Breaking World and Ascending Immortal Technique.” Strangely, this technique was divided into two parts, the first part called Breaking World Technique and the second part called Ascending Immortal Technique.

Thus far, Peter had only acquired the first layer of the Breaking Dan Technique, and according to the inheritance, he could only gain the later techniques after mastering the previous ones.

There was a lot of content in the Breaking World Technique, which Peter had been practicing in prison.

However, all it had done was strengthen his body and enhance his qi, but this qi was still too weak compared to the requirements of the technique.

After some research, Peter found out that each layer of the technique required the aid of herbal solutions or elixirs, otherwise, it would be impossible to refine them.

Now that he was out, it seemed that he needed to catch up with these auxiliary herbal solutions as well.

Actually, during his last trip to the mountains, Peter had intentionally been searching for various herbs, but the village he was in was not Medicine Mountain, so he could only find a few types of herbs.

The most important one was Centennial Ginseng, which was impossible to find on the mountain behind their village.

As long as he had the help of these herbs, he could enter the Qi Refining First Layer.

At that point, he could directly assimilate the spiritual energy from the horizon sky.

Only then would his cultivation path truly open.

Peter thought for a moment, got out of bed, washed up, and went out of the house.

“Mr.

Brown, Mr.

Carter and the others are having tea on the upper floor.

They asked for you when you woke up.”

A sweet-looking beauty approached Peter as she saw him coming out.

Following the beautiful woman, Peter arrived at the top floor.

It had been transformed, filled with lush green plants and the sound of soothing music, leaving one refreshed and invigorated.

Peter saw the likes of Julian Gibson already sitting and laughing together.

Upon Peter’s arrival, Julian said with a smile, “You drank so much last night!”

Peter greeted everyone and sat down, saying, “I forgot to prepare some hangover medicine.

If I had, this amount of wine wouldn’t have been an issue.” While with them, Peter appeared unconstrained, and he could see that their eyes were filled with concern.

“Is it really that potent?”

Unexpectedly, several people looked at Peter, clearly interested in the hangover medicine.

“Of course it’s effective.

I just don’t have the materials, otherwise, I could prepare some now.”

Charles Carter looked at Peter and said, “Tell me what materials you need, and I’ll have someone buy them right away.”

It wasn’t a big deal, the materials were just a matter of choice, so Peter took a pen and paper offered by a beautiful woman and wrote a few medicines on it, saying, “These are just some common materials; any Pharmacy Shop should have them.”

“Go buy them.”

Charles waved to the beautiful woman.

After the woman left, Charles smiled and said, “You don’t know how much we hate drinking in the business world.

There are many occasions where we can’t refuse to drink.

Drinking often and getting drunk can harm our health!”

Julian nodded, “You can’t do business without drinking.

Sometimes you are provoked by others, and you have no choice but to drink.

When you reach our age, you can’t do without taking care of your health!”

Daniel Pangbourne asked with concern, “Does the hangover medicine harm the body?”

Peter replied, “It doesn’t hurt the body.

On the contrary, it can detoxify you.

You can drink as much as you want, and it will all be flushed out with one trip to the restroom.”

Everyone laughed.

Daniel said, “You boy, you have so many good things.

If it really works well, having some on hand would be a lifesaver.”

After chatting for a while, Peter asked, “Is there a place in the county town that sells Centennial Ginseng?

I want to buy some to make medicine.”

Charles shook his head and said, “Centennial Ginseng is rare.

I don’t think it’s available in the county.

You’d probably have to go to the provincial city to find it.”

“That’s right, this kind of medicinal material is rare on the market.

Even if you come across it, many are counterfeit goods.” Daniel agreed.

“Do you need Centennial Ginseng to make medicine?” Julian inquired.

Alex Williams said, “A while ago, wasn’t a 30-gram wild Centennial Ginseng sold at auction for three million?”

Knowing that Centennial Ginseng was expensive, Peter hadn’t realized it would be that expensive.

Thinking of his own money, Peter realized he was poor.

No wonder they say cultivation was an expensive endeavor.

There was no choice.

One of the most critical aspects of the Breaking World Technique was finding the foundational nurturing process, which only required Centennial Ginseng as the main medicine.

Peter knew he had to buy it no matter how expensive it was.

Charles laughed, “As long as Peter’s wine is produced and sold, money shouldn’t be a problem.”

At that moment, Julian looked at Peter and said, “Peter, you go back and prepare ten jars of that wine for me, and I’ll get you a 300-year-old wild ginseng.”

“Over three hundred years!” Peter’s eyes lit up.

If he had over 300 years of wild ginseng, he could make the concoction twice.

Perhaps after two times, he would be able to enter the Qi Refining Second Layer.

This was good news.

“Fine, ten jars it is!”

Reuben Taylor hurriedly said, “Don’t let it affect the wine we’ve set.”

Peter said, “The main thing is to find the herbs.

As long as I find them, it won’t be difficult to make the concoction.

You guys bring dozens of jars of spirit to my house, and when it’s ready, I’ll have you pick them up.”

Daniel said, “It’s not a big deal.

I’ll arrange it.”

As they were talking, the beautiful woman who went to buy the medicine had already brought it in.
