As the words fell, Zachary Owen was slapped onto the ground by a menacing-looking young man.
“You…
Mr.
Gibson, you’re here?” Myles Owen tried to react angrily, but upon seeing the middle-aged man standing in the middle, his expression changed instantly, taking on a flattering tone.
At this moment, the middle-aged man had no interest in watching Myles, and instead turned his attention to Peter and asked, “Peter, what’s going on?
How could you not let me know when you got out?”
“Jules!”
Peter was also surprised.
The two approached, hugged each other, and the middle-aged man sighed.
“We meet again.
Hey, I remember when I had my heart attack.
If it weren’t for your emergency aid, I would have been gone by now!”
“You seem to be doing well now.”
“Yeah, ever since you mysteriously gave me something to eat, I haven’t had a heart attack, and after I got out, I went for a check-up, and they said I have no heart problem.
Wow, you’re awesome!”
Peter also laughed and said, “It’s mainly because you were still redeemable.”
“What’s going on here?” At this point, the man Peter called Julian looked with a frown at Myles.
Peter remembered the situation with Julian, who had gone to prison because of some political problems.
He was there when Peter entered, and a year later, Julian was released.
But in the meantime, Peter had indeed saved his life.
Thinking of the knowledge he possessed, Peter couldn’t help but feel sentimental.
With his medical skills, he had made quite a few important connections in prison.
“It was nothing.”
Peter didn’t want anyone else to handle the matter, so he just murmured a phrase.
“Mr.
Gibson…
Mr. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Gibson.” The guest Myles had invited today was Julian Gibson.
Because Julian was a prominent real estate tycoon in the city, and Myles Owen’s business was somehow related to Julian’s, they got to know each other through some connections.
This time, Myles invited Julian to inspect their factory.
Myles originally intended to take Julian out for dinner today, but he didn’t expect such a thing to happen.
“So what’s the actual situation here?”
Julian hadn’t even answered Myles yet, as he was looking at Peter and asked.
He was grateful to Peter, for saving his life back in the past.
“I guess you could call them enemies.”
Peter said simply.
“Enemies?
Great!”
Julian turned to Peter, “Great, great, since you’re my bro, your enemies are my enemies now!”
With these words, he turned to Myles, “Myles, how fantastic!
I’m going to show you what happens when you cross me or my bro!”
Just at that moment, probably having heard the news from the manager, Reuben and the others quickly rushed out.
Even before Reuben could get closer he called out loud, “Peter, what’s going on?”
Peter glanced at the female manager following him, and realized that she must have informed the inside of the situation here.
“It’s no big deal,” Peter said calmly.
“Charles Carter, damn it!
My bro was bullied on your turf, what are you doing?”
Julian shouted at Charles who had just rushed out.
“Jules, why didn’t you call me when you came into town?” Charles asked excitedly.
“I wanted to surprise you, who’d have thought that you wouldn’t even let me know when Peter got out!”
“Peter, what’s going on?” Reuben asked.
“It’s Myles and his gang.” Knowing that Reuben knew a lot about his affairs, Peter mentioned.
“Is it them!”
Reuben only then turned to Myles.
“Who would it be?
Isn’t this Mr.
Owen from the county?
I’ve been wanting to settle accounts with your family.
When are you going to pay back my bro’s money?”
Julian just realized that there was indeed something going on, and then looked at Reuben and asked, “What’s the actual situation?”
Reuben glanced at Peter, “Nothing much.
They got into a fight with a gang over that woman.
You know about that, right, Jules?”
“It’s their family?” Julian really didn’t know about this.
Only then did he react.
Peter had actually talked about it in prison.
Upon realizing this, Julian solemnly said, “Great, I actually considered doing business with you.
Let me tell you, Myles, from now on, not only will I not do any business with the Owen family, but none of my friends will do any business with you either.
I’ll take down the Owen family if that’s the last thing I do!”
“Well said, Jules.
I also have some say here.
Myles, wait and see.
I’ll make sure to crush your family as well!
Although Daniel Pangbourne and Alex Williams didn’t make strong statements, their eyes had a murderous intent.
How could this be?
Myles was stunned on the spot, looking at Peter in surprise.
“Who the hell are you to destroy our family?!”
Zachary Owen, unaware of the situation, jumped up and began shouting when he heard everyone discussing how they were going to take down his family, recalling how he had been hit by the others earlier.
Julian said solemnly, “Break his fingers!”
As soon as he finished his sentence, the bodyguard who had slapped Zachary earlier rushed forward.
Crack!
The sound of a bone breaking sounded, and then Zachary let out a terrifying scream.
“Help!
Someone call the police!” Zachary cried out loudly as he howled.
What Zachary Owen hadn’t anticipated was his father stepping forward and slapping his face.
After hitting him, Myles turned to Julian, “Mr.
Gibson, I’m truly sorry.
My son was at fault.
A thousand apologies.”
“Hmph, Myles, this is just the beginning!”
After Julian finished speaking, he turned to Peter and said, “Let’s go in for a drink.”
Originally intending to take a walk outside, Peter didn’t anticipate running into such a situation.
He realized that no matter how he used to feel about Fiona, after today’s events, any lingering feelings he might have had completely disappeared.
“Alright, let’s go for a drink!”
Peter also wanted to drink heavily as a definitive farewell to his past.
Watching Peter being embraced by everyone and being led inside, the three people standing here all changed their expressions considerably.
Zachary couldn’t understand why his father hit him.
Fiona seemed to have mixed feelings, as if she had missed out on something, and Myles went pale, knowing that from this day forward, the Owen family might really have gotten into big trouble.
“Why did this happen?!”
Myles couldn’t understand how Peter, who had served three years in prison, could be in this situation after his release.
