As they saw the last villager leave, the Brown family’s courtyard suddenly went quiet.

If anything had changed, it was that the yard was now filled with many beautiful porcelain wine jars.

The blue and white porcelain jars were displayed, making the Brown family members feel a bit uneasy.

“Peter, what’s going on here?” Raven couldn’t hold back any longer and asked directly.

“Yeah, how did you bring back so much wine?

Where did you get the money?” Liza couldn’t help but ask as well.

Seeing everyone’s worried looks, Peter knew they were concerned he’d done something illegal again.

He brought the three of them inside and said, “I met many people in prison, you know that.

When I went to the county this time, some friends invited me to dinner, or I would have come back yesterday.”

“Peter, even if they were your friends in prison, we should sever ties with them now that you’re released!”

Raven was most worried about Peter getting involved with bad company and doing something wrong again.

Peter laughed and said, “Dad, don’t just think they’re criminals.

One of them is the mayor’s son, and the others are all big bosses.

They won’t do anything bad.”

“Oh!”

Raven felt somewhat relieved.

Liza pointed outside and asked, “Where did you get the money to buy so much wine?”

Peter replied, “Kate knows.

Last time, I made a kind of wine using a recipe an old man in prison taught me.

He also taught me many other things.

When I brought the wine to them, they all thought it was good and offered 200 dollars per jar.

They provided the wine and the jars and I only needed to make the wine for them.”

Peter didn’t dare say the real price, fearing it would scare his parents.

Even so, Raven was still shocked, “There are 100 jars outside, so that’s twenty thousand when you calculate it?”

“Yeah, not only that, but they also paid me upfront.

This time I brought back 100,000 dollars.” As Peter spoke, he placed the 100,000 dollars he had withdrawn on the table.

Seeing the large stack of dollars on the table, the three of them were all stunned.

Kate was momentarily stunned before she suddenly exclaimed, “Peter, can I use this money for college?”

“Of course!

You got accepted into college, and there’s no way you’re not going!

Don’t worry.

Your college tuition is secured!”

Kate hugged Peter’s arm and said, “Peter, you’re the best!”

Liza Smith laughed and scolded, “You kids, college doesn’t cost that much.

Aside from repaying the borrowed money, there will be a lot left over.

If we plan it well, Peter can even start a business.” freēwēbηovel.c૦m

At this time, Raven also felt relieved, “That’s good, Peter.

Now that we’re out, we shouldn’t do bad things.

Let’s live a good life, get you a wife, and settle down.”

Seeing his family in a much happier mood than before, Peter felt happy too.

At this point, Peter thought about whether he would move to the city in the future.

Now, Peter had made up his mind to stay in the village.

His path was different from others.

He could develop in the city from time to time, but his roots were in the village.

With this in mind, Peter said, “Dad, I heard that there’s great demand for my wine.

They’ll need more and more of it, so I want to lease a piece of land in the village for development.”

Raven was very supportive at this time, “I think that’s a good idea.

If what you say is true, we could really do something big.

We’re all farmers, and we can’t do other things, but we can do farming.

There’ll be no problem leasing land in the village.

The village chief was just talking about this the other day.”

“Dad, I’ve found a good spot.

If we can lease the mountain behind us and the land in front of it, it would be suitable for our development.”

“Hmm, I heard last time that the wasteland and the land on the mountain total to around 100 acres.

The leasing price is 100,000 dollars for a 70-year lease.

But everyone knows that it’s just a wasteland and nothing can grow there, so no one wants it.”

“Dad, you can lease 70 years for 100,000 dollars?” Peter’s eyes lit up; he hadn’t expected it to be so cheap.

Raven said, “But who would want such a deal?”

“Dad, please talk to them tomorrow.

Tell them that we want to lease that wasteland and develop in the village.”

“But where can we get that much money?”

“Dad, don’t worry.

I can pay for it upfront even if it’s 200,000 or 300,000 dollars.

After all, the wine is really valuable to city people.”

“Can you really get the money?”

“It’s not a problem.”

“Can you really plant those herbs on the wasteland?”

“Of course!

Kate saw it.

Many of the herbs I collected were from the wasteland.”

Kate nodded fervently and said, “Yeah, Peter really collected the herbs on the wasteland last time.”

Looking at the 100,000 dollars on the table and slapping his thigh, Raven said, “Alright, since it’s like this, let’s lease it.”

Seeing that his family had regained confidence in life, Peter knew that his decision was right.

It was time for him to think about his parents, who had worried so much about him.

As their family discussed, they suddenly heard the sounds of chickens and dogs barking outside.

“What’s going on now?” Raven looked puzzledly outside, only to see darkness.

Listening again, they heard a car approaching.

Soon, the car stopped at the Brown family’s door and they heard someone knocking.

Peter recognized the voice of Myles Owen at the door and furrowed his brow, not expecting him to come.

When Raven put on his coat and opened the door, he was also taken aback, “What are you doing here?”

As for Myles, Raven didn’t know what to make of him, only knowing that his son had taken the blame for the Owen family’s crime, and Myles didn’t keep his promises.

“It’s you.

What are you here for?”

At this time, Liza saw Myles’ face and her expression darkened.

Her son had taken the blame, and the Owen family only upheld part of their promise before disappearing.

Her son’s sacrifice was in vain.

“Raven…

I have been awful.

I’ve wronged your family.

I’ve come here to apologize!”

Myles began to blame himself loudly.

This response made Raven unsure of how to react.

At this moment, Peter came out and said, “Myles Owen, I told you in the county that we’re enemies from now on, and it’s a fight to the death!

Get out!”

Raven and the others looked puzzledly at Peter.
