Chapter 92: Easy to Impress

Since he seemed to be so against the idea, I wondered if he was actually terrible at it. It would be quite uncool for the owner of the casino to suck at gambling. The thought brought a small smirk to my lips, and I found it hard to hold in my giggles.

“Jake,” Bradon suddenly called a man’s name.

“Yes, Boss...” the dealer at the table responded immediately.

“Entertain the lady,” he instructed casually.

Entertain me? How?

“We’re taking a break right now, gentlemen. Thank you very much. We will resume in 15 minutes. In the meantime, please enjoy some refreshments over there,” Jake said as he began shuffling a deck of cards in his hands.

“Watch. He’s not half bad,” Bradon said to me.

“What is he going to show me?” I asked as my eyes focused on the smooth movements of Jake’s hands as he continued shuffling a deck of cards.

“Some adorable card tricks,” Bradon replied.

As if to signal that the show had started, Jake began shuffling the cards faster and faster. I watched as if captivated by the movements of his hands before he suddenly stopped shuffling and placed the pile of cards onto the table with a loud thump. He definitely had my attention as he made it look like he was about to pick up the pile of cards with one hand. However, instead of picking up the entire deck off the table like I had expected that he would, he picked up a portion of the deck and somehow managed to let the cards flow down back onto the deck so smoothly as if he was pouring water from a vase.

“Wow...” I murmured without daring to blink in case I might miss out on his tricks.

Jake quickly brought out another deck of cards and with his other hand he began replaying the trick while using both his hands at the same time. The way his hand moved seemed so effortless and everything seemed to come so naturally to him as if he had done this countless times before. Jake continued on with many more of his card tricks and I had to admit that I was very impressed and very well entertained by his show.

“Wow. That’s really amazing. The way he moves his hand makes it all look so smooth. Can you do something like that?” I asked Bradon who was standing close to my side.

“Of course, I can,” he replied very close to my ear.

My attention immediately shifted to Bradon instead of the card show that was still going on as I turned to look him in the eyes. The way his blue eyes sparkled truly brought life to his face and for a moment he didn’t seem so cold and distant as he usually was.

“Really?” I asked as I narrowed my eyes a little at him.

“Really,” he affirmed with a nod of his head.

“I hope you’re not lying because I really might ask you to show me later,” I teased before giggling lightly.

Bradon’s beautiful lips just turned into a mischievous smirk, but he did not reply to me with words. He urged me with his eyes to return my attention to the show that Jake was putting on for my sake. I was so impressed that I ended up clapping so loudly when the show came to an end. It was a great 15-minute show.

“That was amazing. Thank you so much!” I thanked him with a bright smile.

“You’re welcome, My Lady,” he replied politely before bowing.

“You’re so easy to impress,” Bradon muttered from close to me.

“What did you just say?” I asked as I turned to glare at him.

“It’s good that you’re not so hard to impress,” he said like it was nothing.

“Were you trying to impress me?” I asked in return.

“Not at all, but Jake was...” he replied with a chuckle.

I felt like I’ve just about had enough for the break, and I was itching to get back to gambling. It felt like a whole new world was now open to me and I couldn’t wait to learn more about it. The casino was huge and doubted that I could go around learning all the games that were available. Just looking around made me wonder where I should head to next. I turned to smile at Jake before he returned to his work.

“Do they know that we’re married?” I whispered questioningly to Bradon.

Although no one had asked Bradon about who I was, I wasn’t sure whether they knew who I was or not. Perhaps they were too scared to even question Bradon about my identity. Regardless, no one seemed surprised that Bradon had a female companion with him. I made a thoughtful sound in my throat as I wondered if he brought women to this place often and I was just seen as one of them.

“Yes and no. To be accurate, some of them know that I took Anthony’s place because of my father’s request but they don’t know about you taking your sister’s place. To them, you’re Diana,” he whispered back.

“This is seriously complicated...” I muttered.

I could understand how some of them could be confused because even I got confused myself. Sometimes, I wasn’t sure whose wife I was supposed to be. The person that I married was supposedly Anthony but the man who was really there and still by my side now was Bradon. It was just a big, complicated mess. Things might just sort themselves out if only I could meet with Anthony. Either I have to find a way to make that happen on my own without Bradon knowing or I had to convince Bradon to allow me to see his brother.

“Don’t worry. If they happen to find out who you are, they’ll just think that I’m taking care of you in the place of my brother,” he said as he reached out a hand to tap on the mask that I had on.

“Well whatever works, I guess...” I said before shrugging my shoulders carelessly.
