Chapter 356: Stabbing Betrayal

Thankfully, both the interview and shoot for the magazine ended early, and I was able to make it back quickly to the hospital.

"Lady Diana," one of the bodyguards said when they saw me.

"Please move aside, I need to see my sister right away," I said hurriedly. However, instead of stepping aside and opening the door for me right away, the guards glanced at each other with a hesitant look on their faces, as if they weren’t sure about what to do. That was when it occurred to me that Diana wasn’t the only person inside my hospital room.

"Is Bradon here?" I asked, trying to keep my tone calm.

He called to tell me that he would come and pick me up. I should have told him that I had to go out in Diana’s place because she suddenly fell sick. Although I doubted that he would agree to letting me take my sister’s place for the photoshoot, maybe I should have told him anyway. My body froze in place, and I found that I wasn’t sure what to do. Bradon was clearly inside with Diana right now.

My heart raced fast and hard inside my chest, and an unsettling feeling welled up inside me. My lips and throat suddenly felt dry, and all I could do was stand right in front of the hospital room door with the guards blocking my entrance. I didn’t know what was going on inside, but it seemed like the guards wanted to give them privacy. They knew it was actually my sister inside, while the real Dahlia was standing right in front of them.

"Please step aside. My sister needs to be discharged from the hospital now, and I want to see her," I requested entry once again.

"Please wait here until they come out," one of the guards informed me politely.

"I highly advise you to step aside right now before I make a scene that you will completely regret. You have no right to deny my entry, and I am sure that you can’t be responsible for any harm that I may cause," I warned them coldly.

The more they hesitated to let me inside the room, the more convinced I was that something abnormal was going on. It felt like I could hear alarm bells softly ringing in the background inside my head, and I knew right away that I needed to enter the room as soon as possible. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

The guards glanced around at each other as they continued to hesitate, so I used that opportunity to force myself past them. Surprisingly, the door wasn’t even locked, and I managed to push it open before quickly making my way into the room.

...What is going on?

It was like my heart had stopped beating, and I couldn’t draw a breath when my eyes landed on my sister straddling Bradon on his lap with her hand on the side of his face and her lips on his. I couldn’t believe that I had just walked in on my sister making out with Bradon right on the sofa of my hospital room. The two of them turned their attention to me when they heard my arrival into the room, but all I could do was stand glued to the spot as I kept on staring at them as if I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. My mind began convincing myself that my eyes were just playing tricks on me and that everything wasn’t real. I was so shocked that I went into a state of denial as time seemed to come to a stop.

"I-I’m sorry for disturbing..." I mumbled as I still struggled to deal with my own shock at what I was seeing.

I knew that I should leave right away, but my legs refused to move.

"Dahlia... it is not what you think!" my sister quickly denied.

I had no idea why she thought that what was happening wasn’t what I was thinking because even I didn’t know what I was thinking right at that moment. I mean, from what I was seeing, is there even a need for me to think about anything when it was so obvious already?

"I need to leave. Right now...” I murmured softly to myself as my entire body suddenly felt very cold.

I could hear my heartbeat ringing in my ears, and everything around me seemed to fade away. It was like I was there, and yet at the same time, I wasn’t. I heard my sister calling my name repeatedly, but it felt like she was so far away, and her voice was nothing more than a whisper that got lost in the wind. While ignoring the cold feeling that had crept into my chest, I quickly turned on my heels and ran out of the room.

"Dahlia!"

The last thing I heard was Bradon calling my name, but that wasn’t enough to stop me from leaving. In fact, it only made me feel that I had to get away from them as fast as possible.

...

How did I end up here?

After running out of the hospital room, I ignored the confused expressions on the bodyguards’ faces as they watched me go. They probably thought that I was Diana, so they saw no reason for them to stop me from leaving. I ran as far as I could out of the hospital before getting into a taxi. It was only when the taxi driver asked me where I wanted to go that I realized that I didn’t have a place to go to.

"Please just drive," I told the taxi driver.

Although the man was confused, he decided to do what I told him to. I sat alone in silence in the back of the taxi as I tried my best to sort out my thoughts and also my emotions. Although it was supposed to be blatantly clear what I just saw, I found myself wondering if I had imagined the whole thing or if I simply just saw it all wrong. After all, what I just saw didn’t make sense at all.
