Chapter 336: Real Solution

She narrowed her eyes at me suspiciously but decided to hold her tongue so that she could hear me out.

"Well, you’re not entirely wrong, and things were very difficult between us at first. He truly lived up to his fame when we first met, but even then, he helped me out as well when our parents were unkind to me. I know it’s hard to believe, but he stood up for me and protected me from them," I said as I also recalled the day that it happened.

Diana had a very surprised look on her face, and I could tell that she was finding it extremely hard to believe that what I was telling her was true.

"I know that it’s very hard to believe. Even I couldn’t believe it at first when it happened, and honestly, I thought that he was doing it because he was simply annoyed with our parents. But when I look back on it, I am pretty sure that he did all of that to help me," I said with a firm nod.

"Are you sure about this?" Diana asked as she began frowning.

"I know that it’s hard for you to believe, but I can’t think of any other reason why he would do something like that if he wasn’t trying to help me. Also, I made a deal with him that we would cooperate with each other for our own goals, and he’s been helping me out ever since," I explained even further.

Diana had an evidently conflicted look on her face, and I could tell that she was struggling to take in what I was telling her. Regardless, I decided to go on with my explanations.

"Even though it’s true that he kind of kept me locked up in his mansion at first, right now I am staying willingly. Actually, I find it quite comfortable there, and I think that Bradon takes care of me very well...in his own way..." I said before showing my sister a reassuring smile.

However, instead of my words easing her worries, Diana looked at me with an even more troubled expression on her face.

"What are you saying? Your relationship with him should be nothing more than that of a fake couple after your fake marriage. Why are you getting so close to him? Don’t you know just how dangerous he is?" Diana asked as she reached her hand to hold the side of my arm.

"I know that he’s dangerous, but he’s not the kind of person that you think he is," I said defensively.

"You’re not acting like yourself. Did he do something to you to make you say these things? Is he threatening you without me knowing?" Diana asked, and I could tell that she was picturing the worst of the worst in her mind.

"No, it’s not like that at all. You have to listen to me. Bradon is not a bad person, and he is on my side," I tried my desperate best to explain.

But Diana just shook her head from side to side as if none of my words were not getting to her. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"Why are you saying these things to defend him? Is it because you slept with him?" my sister asked as she shot me a knowing look.

She must have already figured out that I had slept with Bradon, and it was true that I had spent more than a few nights with him during the time that we were together.

"I did sleep with him, but that’s not the reason why I’m telling you these things. You have to trust me; I’m not reading him wrong," I said as I stared deeply into my sister’s eyes without avoiding her inquisitive gaze.

"I just can’t bring myself to trust him. I’m so scared that he’s going to end up hurting you," Diana said in a small voice, and she sounded so tired.

"You don’t have to worry about me. Even if that ends up happening, I’ll be fine," I said confidently.

Although my sister had returned to the country, it still never crossed my mind that I should remain in the country after all is over and done with. Diana is back now so all I have to do is help Desmond with his plan until I can bring my family down. Another heavy weight weighed down heavily on my shoulders when I realized I had another secret that I was keeping from my sister. Unlike how my parents treated me, Diana was brought up with love and care, so I wasn’t sure how she would feel or what she would think if I told her that I wanted to ruin our family and to take revenge on our parents.

"I don’t think you should ever see him again. The answer is so clear; we need to find Anthony and we need to bring him back," Diana said with clear resolve in her voice.

"I wish it was really that easy. As I’ve told you already, no one is willing to tell me where he is. It’s like he just disappeared into thin air, and I can’t even find a trace of him," I said as I felt slightly depressed.

"If there’s someone who can find him, or someone who will help us find him, it would be your dear Desmond," Diana said before grinning at me.

It did occur to me that I should ask Desmond for his help to find Anthony; however, that would mean that I would be revealing my heart to him. Since he probably already knew about my feelings towards Anthony, that might not be the biggest problem that I would have on my hands.

“Asking the Crown Prince for a favor has never come without a price. What kind of price would he demand now that he is the king?” I asked as I felt my temples begin to throb.
