Substitute Bride: Utterly Pampered by Her Billionaire Husband-Chapter 1283: Are You Crying for Me?
"Willow! Someone help, quickly!" Rachel screamed in panic.
In the crowd, Hannah flashed a malicious smile. She really hated Willow Crawford. Miles Linden’s attitude toward her earlier had completely crushed her, causing her to lose all humanity and reason. Her only thought was that it would be good if Willow disappeared.
She did it on purpose, intentionally throwing down a large stone, and then let classmates say she fell. This attracted many people, successfully capturing the attention of Miles and Willow. As Willow approached, Hannah took advantage of the chaos to push Willow. Her plan was flawless.
Hannah was filled with smug satisfaction. Finally, Willow had vanished from this world, and surely Miles would come to appreciate her.
But in the next second, Hannah’s smile froze because a dark figure flashed by, and followed Willow by jumping down.
Ah!
Rachel was screaming again, "It’s...it’s Miles! Miles jumped down!"
Miles, seeing Willow fall, immediately followed and jumped.
Hannah’s mind exploded; she never imagined that Miles would jump as well. Was he crazy? He was willing to risk his life for Willow!
Hannah rushed forward, peering down. For a moment, Miles’s figure vanished into the darkness.
No!
Hannah clenched her fists, digging her nails deep into her palms.
She never calculated it would end this way.
This incident left the students flustered.
"Quick, take out your phones. See if there’s a signal at the mountaintop. Call the teachers, call the police, hurry!"
"Willow fell first, then Miles jumped after her. Is this... a hero saving a damsel, or... a lovers’ leap?"
"A boy jumping off a cliff for a girl, if that’s not love, what is?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
...
Willow felt weightless as she plummeted, a wave of fear and unease spreading through her heart, the most instinctive reaction when facing death.
Was she just going to die like this?
A thousand thoughts raced through Willow’s mind. Just then, a hand suddenly reached out, gripping her slender waist tightly.
Who?
Willow looked up, her shimmering pupils constricting abruptly. It was Miles.
Miles jumped down from above, gripped her waist forcefully, and pulled her into his embrace.
The two of them tumbled to the ground, the enormous impact sending them rolling like snowballs. Willow felt nothing because the back of her head was held by a large hand, Miles holding her soft waist with one arm and pressing her head firmly into his chest with the other.
Thump, thump, thump.
Willow clearly heard his heartbeat, strong and powerful, brimming with strength.
The fear slowly faded from her heart, and Willow no longer felt scared.
Miles was holding her protectively as they rolled downward. When he saw a large rock below that they were about to crash into,
At the critical moment, Miles twisted forcefully with Willow in his arms, shielding her with his own body, and his head hit the rock with a "bang".
They stopped, with Willow on top and him beneath.
The whole world went quiet and still. Willow panted heavily as she lay on Miles’s chest, looking up. "Miles! Miles, are you okay?"
Miles’s handsome face was extremely pale, and his eyes were closed.
"Miles! Miles!" Willow reached out, quickly feeling the stickiness of blood.
Miles’s head was bleeding.
Willow had been completely protected by him, and at the last moment, she heard the crash—it was his head hitting the rock, bleeding.
She was unharmed, but he was gravely injured.
Willow’s fingertips began to tremble, her bright clear eyes quickly filling with a red mist. "Miles! Miles, wake up, please don’t scare me. I’m really scared, please open your eyes and look at me!"
"I was the one who fell; why did you jump too? How stupid can you be? I don’t need you to save me. What am I supposed to do now? You really annoy me. I really hate you!"
"Miles, don’t die, don’t leave me here, wake up!"
Willow’s tears fell like broken pearls, rushing down without stop.
Her tears fell on Miles’s eyes. The boy blinked his handsome eyes and slowly opened them, immediately seeing her tear-streaked face.
She was crying sorrowfully, scolding him for being annoying yet begging him not to die. Miles sighed, thinking she was foolish, telling her not to get involved, but she didn’t listen. Now it’s like this, but seeing her cry like that... she indeed seemed quite pitiful.
Miles slowly raised his hand, his long fingers brushed against her damp cheek, gently wiping her tears away. "Willow, are you crying because of me?"
He wasn’t dead!
He was awake!
Willow paused as overwhelming joy filled her heart, she grasped his clothing, both crying and laughing, "Miles, you’re awake, you finally woke up, you scared me to death!"
Her tears couldn’t stop, waterworks personified, delicate and lovely. Miles couldn’t bear to pull his hand away; his calloused fingertips lightly caressed her cheek, her skin soft as freshly peeled egg whites.
After a couple of strokes, Miles withdrew his hand and slowly sat up, closing his eyes for a moment, "I’m fine, don’t be afraid."
He felt dizzy at the moment.
"Who said you’re fine? You’re still bleeding!" Willow was heartbroken, her choked voice trembling.
Miles curled his lips slightly, "Maybe you should get off me first?"
Their current position was girl on top of boy. Since Miles had sat up, Willow was still sitting on him, in this position...
Realizing this, Willow promptly got up.
Miles stood as well, looking around the harsh terrain. "It’s getting dark, and if we can’t find our way, we’ll get lost. People up there should have called for help. There are wild animals at night, so we better find a cave and wait for rescue."
Willow nodded, agreeing with him. The key was that he was still bleeding; they needed to find some herbs to stop his bleeding.
Though Willow hadn’t studied medicine, she’d grown up exposed to much of it and could recognize some herbs.
The two of them found a cave. Willow said, "Miles, rest here for a bit. I’ll go out and be back soon."
With that, Willow headed out.
She quickly found a large patch of herbs, but the ones they needed for stopping bleeding were growing on a rock, and she couldn’t reach them despite tiptoeing.
What to do?
As Willow fretted, a large hand appeared above, easily picking the herbs for her.
Willow turned to see Miles.
"Didn’t I tell you to rest in the cave?"
"But you’re here."
